INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
I stallatio Procedure
The VERSITRON VersiVision FVTM880x a d FVRM880x video tra smissio systems
series are preset for immediate use. There are i dicator LEDs o the u its for mo itori g the
real-time status of video, data a d power. The followi g i structio s describe the typical
i stallatio procedure a d the fu ctio of the LED i dicators located o each u it.
1. Co ect the video source (camera) to the video i put BNC co ector o the tra smitter
u it (FVTM880x) usi g coaxial cable.
2. Co ect the video output BNC co ector o the receiver u it (FVRM880x) to the video
mo itor usi g coaxial cable.
3. Co ect the fiber optic cable betwee the tra smitter a d receiver u its.
4. Apply the power supply to both the tra smitter a d receiver u its.
5. Whe the power is applied, the yellow POWER LED will light, i dicati g the prese ce
of operati g power. The blue VIDEO LEDs a d the blue DATA LEDs will give a
i dicatio as stated o the followi g pages.
6. The system should ow be operatio al.

I dicator LEDs
The u its have i tegral LEDs that are used to mo itor the state of the u it. Each u it has
o e power LED a d o e DATA LED, alo g with a VIDEO LED for each of the eight video
co ectio s. The i dicator LEDs fu ctio as follows:

Data RS-485 Connection:
Red Wire = (+) Signa being transmitted or received over fiber.
B ue Wire = (-) Signa being transmitted or received over fiber.
Camera Site
Co ect the Red wire (+) i the data cable from the tra smitter u it to the RS-485 (+) of the
co trolled u it (pa /tilt, dome), a d co ect the Blue wire (-) i the data cable to the RS-485
(-) of the co trolled u it (pa /tilt, dome).
Contro Site
Similarly, co ect the Red wire (+) i the data cable from the receiver u it to the RS-485 (+)
of the co trolli g u it (Keyboard Co troller, Matrix, DVR), a d co ect the Blue wire (-) i
the data cable to the RS-485 (-) of co trolli g u it (Keyboard Co troller, Matrix, DVR).
