1.3 Classes of use
a) Partial use (most common)
The process requires regular or irregular
rapid decelerations, stops or reversings.
b) Continuous use
The motor continuously brakes with
constant torque
c) Combination use
The motor continuously brakes with
variable torque
d) DC-link voltage smoothing
The brake resistor smooths overvoltage
spikes from the supply
