PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The BSM-200 is a microwave radar system that continuously
monitors the blind zone behind vehicle’s driver and passenger side
B-pillar. Intelligent real time detection of moving objects such
as automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians, allows
everyone on the road to have a safer experience. The BSM-200
automatically actives when the speed reaches 18.5 mph (30 km/h)
and deactivates when the speed is under 18.5 mph (30 km/h).
The BSM-200 uses multichannel technology to accurately measure
the distance, speed, and angle of the moving objects. Thus allows
for OEM like monitoring with less false alarms. A false alarm
consists of the system alerting the driver when objects are outside
the blind zone such as vehicles located beyond the adjacent lanes.
The BSM-200’s alert system consist of audible (beeps) and visual
(LED lights) warning’s. It will warn the driver if the object in the
detection zone is traveling at 6 mph (10 km/h) or above, regardless
of whether or not it is approaching you, keeping pace with you, or
if you are passing it.

OPERATION PRECAUTION & NOTES
Warning
• The Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic
Alert (RCTA) system is to be used as an auxiliary tool only
and is not a substitute for careful driving. It is the driver’s
responsibility for the safety of lane changing, backing up, and
other maneuvers. The system does not remove the need to
check over your shoulder and the mirrors when preforming
such maneuvers.
Notes
• The BSM and RCTA system may not function as designed if
the system is unable to properly judge the size and speed of the
moving object due to following conditions:
◊ If the vehicle’s rear bumper is made of metal material.
◊ During inclement weather conditions where ice, snow, or
soil may obstruct the sensors.
◊ Presence of obstructing objects or material on the rear
bumper such as bicycle racks
• The BSM-200 is not designed to prevent collision. Thus it will
not alert of parked vehicles of any kind, stationary objects
(lamppost, fences, fire hydrant, street signs, etc.), or people/
animals standing by. Always pay full attention to surroundings
when driving.
• The BSM-200 may give off false alarms if the vehicle is in a
complex environment such as, if there are multiple vehicles/
objects of varying sizes and speed in the blind zone, if objects
in the blind zone are moving in opposition directions, or if the
approaching objects are exceeding the average speed.
• The BMS-200 may detect and give out warning of the vehicle
behind when making a sharp turn, a u-turn, or when driving
on a winding road.

FUNCTIONS
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) Detection Zones
Detection zones
33 (10m)
• Detection zone: approximately 33ft (10m) behind the B-pillar
on both sides of your vehicle
• When the BSM-200 detects an object traveling 6 mph (10
km/h) or greater in the detection zone, the LED indicator
on the corresponding side will light up. If the turn signal is
activated while the object is still in the detection zone, it
will give out a warning sound (3 consecutive beeps) and the
corresponding LED will flash.

• When the vehicle is put in reverse, the detection zone will
increase to 98ft (30m). The detection zone starts from the
radar sensors located inside the rear bumper of the vehicle.
• If a moving object enters into the detection while the vehicle
is in reverse, the BSM-200 will send out a warning sound and
the LED indicator will flash on the corresponding side.
NOTE: the BSM-200 will not warn the driver of stationary
objects such as parked vehicles, fences, wall, etc., or of objects
that are moving away from the vehicle. Always check your
surroundings carefully when backing out of driveways and
parking spaces.

INSTALLATION
Mounting the Radar Sensors
Follow the below illustrations and steps carefully. The sensors
must be mounted correctly for the BSM-200 system to
function properly.
1. Assemble the sensors to the provided adjustable mounting
brackets.
2. Use all the provided hardware (screw sets) to ensure that the
sensor/bracket assembly is secure and will not loosen over
time due to vibration.
3. Remove the vehicle’s rear bumper. Mount the two sensor/
bracket assemblies, (one on each side of the vehicle’s body).
See Fig 1-3 for ideal mounting angle, depth, and height.
• Depth: at least ½ in (1cm) from the vehicle body. Make
sure they are not blocked by any vehicle body parts
• Height: 1-1½ ft (30-45cm) above the ground
• Position: mount the sensors straight (Fig. 2-A), do not
rotate them vertically or at an angle (Fig. 2-B). Make sure
the sensor cables are pointing outwards and not inwards
(Fig. 2-C).
• Angle: follow Fig. 3 and use the provided angle ruler to
adjust the sensors’ mounting brackets to achieve the
required sensor angle.
1. Hold the angle ruler (with the side labeled R facing
up) against the passenger-side sensor and adjust the
brackets so the arrow on the ruler is at a straight line
with the vehicle’s body line.
2. Flip the ruler over so the side label L is facing up
and hold it against the driver-side sensor. Adjust the
brackets accordingly.
