1. Product Introduction

1.1 Overview

TBS2925 MOI Smart Box is a professional IPTV headend streaming server, which is mainly used to transfer

DVB TV channels to data format and deliver over the network as video streams. It is equipped with 1 or 2 PCIe

slots, which can be loaded with 1pcs or 2pcs DVB TV Tuner PCIe card to capture live DVB channels from up to 8

frequencies. The 1Gb network port allows MOI Smart box to deliver about 800M video streams over the

network simultaneously. The CA card reader slot in TBS2925 MOI Smart box is an essential part to enable users

to handle encrypted DVB channels.

TBS2925 MOI Smart Box provides many possibilities to IPTV system integrators or TV service operators, as it

allows to use different open-source software, such as Tvheadend, VDR, MuMuDVB, DVBlast, etc., to deliver the

video streams in different protocol according to the requirements of the IPTV system.

1.2 TBS2925 MOI Smart Box has 2 versions:

TBS2925-1 single PCIe slot version

2. System Connection and Log in

➢Connect TBS2925 MOI Smart Box to the router and turn on. It will show its IP address on the LCD.

➢Connect another PC to the same LAN. It is recommended to try a ping on the command-line interface to

confirm the PC and TBS2925 are on the same network range and communication between them is

possible.

➢Now use a web browser to run the webserver application from the PC. Write the IP address and

web server port number (by default 8081) on the URL bar and press ENTER.

➢If connection is successful, the browser will display a login screen. Enter the Username and Password (by

default both are “root”), then click on ‘Sign in’ to enter the webserver application.

NOTE: After communication is established, a new User name and Password can be set in the “Options” page.

3. Network setting

The server’s network parameters can be re-set in the “Network Settings” page. Please don’t forget to click

“Save” to keep all the new setting.

4. Stream channels setting

The system is embedded several third-party software for streaming the channels: TVheadend, DVBlast and so

on.

4.1 Use TVheadend to stream the channels

When TVheadend is selected to stream the channels, TVheadend webpage will pop up in a few seconds.

4.2 Use DVBlast to stream the channels

4.2.1 Scan channels

Following is a sample to use TBS6904SE DVB-S/S2/S2X Quad tuner card to capture some free satellite channels.

1. Adapters: Choose TBS6904SE DVB-S/S2/S2X adapter 0-3 (tuner).

2. Frequency (kHz): Enter the transponder’s frequency value here.

3. Symbol Rate (Sym/s): Enter the signal’s symbol rate value here.

4. Polarisation: Choose V or H, according to the signal’s condition.

5. Delivery system: Choose DVBS2. (If use TBS6205 DVB-T/T2 to capture terrestrial channels, here should

choose DVBT)

6. Modulation: Choose the signal’s Modulation here.

7. FEC: Choose the signal’s FEC value here.

8. Click “Scan Channels” to lock the signal and scan channels.

4.2.2 Stream channels in UDP protocol

Once the scan successfully, the channels list will display.

Ther are 3 options in the drop-down menu of IP. If choose "auto", the system will assign an IP address for

streaming.

➢If tick ”UDP”, the coming out stream will be UDP, and the address will be udp://@239.255.0.2:1234.

➢If you deselect ”UDP”, the coming out stream will be RTP, and the address wil be rtp://239.255.0.2:1234.

➢Tick "Enable" to choose the programs for streaming, then tick to start streaming.

4.2.3 Use VLC to test the UDP stream.

Select “Media” →“Open Network Stream”, enter the URL of the stream, then click “Play”.
