Warranty Information

UNPACKING

As a part of our system of quality control, every

STK product is carefully inspected before leaving the

factory to insure flawless appearance. After unpacking,

please inspect for any physical damage. Save the

shipping carton and all packing materials, as they were

carefully designed to reduce the possibility of

transportation damage should the unit again require

packing and shipping. In the event that damage has

occurred, immediately notify our dealer so that a written

claim to cover the damage can be initiated with the

carrier. The right to any claim against a public carrier

can be forfeited if the carrier is not promptly notified

and if the shipping carton and packing materials are

not available for inspection by the carrier. Save all

packing materials until the claim has been settled.

STK electronics are warranted to be free from

defects in materials and workmanship under normal

use for a period of 1 year from date of original

purchase. During that period, STK will at its option,

repair or replace materials at no charge if product has

been delivered to STK by an STK dealer or STK

Service Center together with the original sales receipt

or other proof of purchase. Warranty excludes fuses,

exteriorm finish, normal wear, failure due to abuse,

or operation outside of specified ratings. Warranty

applies to original purchaser only. This warranty gives

you specifically rights which vary from state to state.

Features

SP-118S (SUB WOOFER)

Designed for a variety of professional applications, the SP118S a

adheres to a continuing legacy of high efficience and performance

value. A dedicated sub woofer with dual 18 inch transducer in a

vented trapezoidal enclosure engineered to complement the SP

series

full range system. Recessed cup on the top accept the footpads of

a SP4733A or another SP 118S.

ENCLOSURE CONSTRUCTION

The STK speaker system enclosure utilizers a structural

material that combines the strength of high-quality plywood

with the density and acoustic damping of particle board

without brittleness. Road-Wood uses the same principle of

crossbreeding veneers, as in plywood, in order to achieve its

very high is rigidity. Alternate layers are perpendicularly

bonded under intense heat and pressure to form panels of

superior uniformity. Unlike many grades of plywood,

Road-Wood is dimensionally stable, water-resistant and free

from voids.

A combination of dado-cut joints, tough adhesives,

and proper bracing ensure a sonically dead enclosure free

from panel resonances. The densely-woven, industrial-grade,

abuse-resistant carpeting provides a finish that is both

attractive and highly durable. Large, heavy-duty metal corner

protectors, firmly secured rubber feet, and recessed handles

complete the enclosure and ensure that the Music Town

seriessystemisideallysuitedtoa long and reliable life "on the

road."

CONNECTIONS

The STK speakersystem is equipped with high quality

Speakon connectors. Two connectors are installed in parallel

akkowing additional STK speaker system to be installed.

One matching Speakon connector is supplied with each

system. These connectors are locking, self-polarizing and

capable of 30 amps RMS continuously. Additional connectors

and cables can be purchased from your dealer.

BI-AMPING

The SP153H, SP4730N and SP4733N may be easily converted

for bi-amp operation. On the rear connector panel there are

two 6pin terminal block with exposed link bar connector. For

full range operation the 4 link bar is as figure 1.

Reconnecting the 2 link bar in the bi-amp operation. The

crossover frequency for bi-amp operation should be between

500 and 800 Hz with either a second-order Butterworth

(12-dB-per-octave slopes),a third-order Butterworth (18-dB-

per-octave slopes), or a fourth-order Butterworth (24-dB-per-

octave slopes) response characteristic.

For flattest response in the crossover region when a second-

order of fourth-order crossover is used, the polarity between

the woofer and hight-frequency sections should be the same,

i.e., the positive output terminal of the low-frequency amplifier

should go to the positive woofer input on the SP4730N

(SP153H, SP4733N,SP253N) and the positive output terminal of

the high-frequency amplifier should go to the positive

high-frequency input on the SP4730N,SP4730H.

(SP153H, SP4733N,SP253N).

This instruction assumes of course, that there is no polarity

shift between the high-and low-frequency amplifier channels.

When a third-order crossover is use, the polarity

between the woofer and high-frequency section should

be reversed.

The pin arrangements are:

Full Range: Bi-Amp:

1 - = IN (-) 1 - = LF (-)

1 + = IN (+) 1 + = LF (+)

2 - = Not used 2 - = HF (-)

2 + = Not used 2 + = HF (+)

the newfeatures of your STK speaker system, the upgraded is described below. If you have any questions regarding your STK

speaker or its operation, please contact your STK Dealer or STK Authorized Service Center. We wish you all the best in the use of

your outstanding STK speaker system.

The high frequency horn or tweeter driver on your STK speaker is protected by a specially designed circuit using a Fuse Lamp. In

the event of a sudden loss of high frequency performance, it is likely that your horn of tweeter driver is OK and Fuse Lamp has failed.

The Fuse Lamp should be replaced by a qualified technician using a replacement lamp of the same type and rating.
