appliance before each use by holding it away from body and operating steam
button. Do not operate unit if steam vents are blocked.
WARNING - To avoid damage to the unit or power cord, and to reduce risk
of re, electrical shock and injury to persons, observe the following:
- Do not use the iron if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage, or if
it is leaking. Shock, re, or injury may occur.
- Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completely before putting
the iron away. Do not wrap cord around the unit, use the cable tie provided for
storage.
- Do not use power cord as handle, allow it to hang over edge of counters, or be
crimped or closed in doors.
- The iron must not be left unattended while it is plugged into any power outlet.
- Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging the iron from the electrical
outlet. Never pull on the cord to disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet;
instead, grasp the plug and pull on the plug to disconnect the iron.
- A loose t between wall outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and
distortion of the plug. Discontinue use of the product in this outlet. Contact a
qualied electrician to replace loose or worn outlets.
- To reduce likelihood of circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage
appliance on this same circuit.
- If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to
or greater than the maximum rating of the iron shall be used. A cord rated for less
amperage can result in a risk of re or electric shock due to overheating. Care shall
be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
- This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other.) To reduce
the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to t in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrican. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
- Always disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet before lling the iron with
water, emptying the water from the iron, and when the iron is not in use. Do not
open water tank cap during use.
- Only use distilled water to ll unit. Do not use cleaning agents or other substances
to ll unit. Cleaning agents and other substances could result in injury or damage to
the unit.
- The iron must be used on a at stable surface. The iron must only be used with the
base provided. When placing the iron on its base, ensure that the surface on which
the base is placed is stable.
- Always allow unit to cool completely (at least 30 minutes) before storing. Place unit
on base when cooling, to avoid heat damage to surfaces.
