PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

Sordin FM Basic, FM Pro & Dual Pro are part of a series of products developed to improve your work and leisure time when

you are in noisy environments. They are available in the following versions:

To ensure you are really satisfied with the product it is important that you read the user’s instructions thoroughly.

Important information about radio reception, reproduction of ambient sound and return guarantee.

The quality of FM radio reception varies considerably due to many circumstances, e.g. distance from the transmitter antenna,

topography, natural surroundings, buildings, screening materials and other electrical interference. If this product does not meet

your expectations, return it immediately to the place where you bought it, and your money will be refunded. NOTE! This offer

does not apply if the product has been regularly used.

USER’S INSTRUCTIONS, ELECTRONICS

ACTIVATING THE HEARING PROTECTOR / CHANGING THE BATTERIES (figure C)

The product must be fitted with 2 standard alkaline batteries 1.5 V AA. The use of rechargeable batteries such as NiMH 1.2 V

or NiCd 1.2 V will reduce the operating time. The battery holder is fully integrated in the ear muff and does not have any but-

tons. To change the batteries, follow the instructions below (figure C). Start by pulling the ear muff down as far as it will go (fig-

ure C1). Remove the cushion by pulling it straight out (figure C2).

Remove the battery cover. Insert the batteries in the battery holder. Make sure that the + and – terminals on the batteries are

the right way round (figures C3–C5). Refit the battery cover (C6).

Refit the inserts (2) and press on the cushion (figure C7). After replacing the batteries it is important to check carefully that the

inserts and the cushion are correctly fitted so that noise reduction is not impaired. Turn the cushion so that the bulge is at the

bottom.

FUNCTION BUTTONS (figure D)

On/off (O)

Switch on the electronics by pressing the button (). To switch off, press the same button (O) and hold for 2 seconds.

Volume adjustment, (O)

Adjust the volume by pressing briefly on (O). The initial volume is the same as when the radio was last switched off. The vol-

ume has three settings (Basic Line), or four settings (Pro Line). When the highest volume setting has been reached, pressing the

button again will start the volume from the lowest setting. Sound via the speakers is limited to a maximum 82 dB (A) equiva-

lent sound level.

Setting the radio station, (+) (-)

The FM-radio frequency band is 88 - 108 MHz. Station tuning is automatic. A push of the desired directional key down (-) or

up (+) will tune the radio to the next station and stop. A tone will be heard as acknowledgement of each push of a key. The

FM-radio starts at the latest used station. This memory is erased when the batteries are replaced.

Battery save function

To maximise battery life the product is equipped with a battery save function. This function automatically switches off the elec-

tronics after 4 hours if none of the buttons is pressed during this period. To switch back on, press the button in the middle of

the keypad (O). About 2 minutes before automatic switch-off occurs, a series of beeps will be heard as a warning that the hear-

ing protector is about to be switched off. Press any button to delay switch-off by a further 4 hours.

Frequency Hopping

It is possible to hop from one end of the frequency band to the other. To hop to the higher end of the frequency band press the

(+) and volume (O) button simultaneously, and to hop to the lower end press the (-) and volume (O) button simultaneously.

Stereo / Mono shifting, (+) (–) (does not apply to Basic Line)

The radio will automatically shift from stereo to mono in the event of very poor reception. Stereo will be restored when stable

reception occurs again. The FM-radio can be locked in the mono mode by simultaneously pressing the station tuner down (-)

and up (+) keys. The mono lock will be released by repeated pressing of the same keys. The locked mode will also disappear

on changing the batteries.

Battery warning (does not apply to Basic Line)

Two tones will be heard when about 10–20 hours battery life remains. The battery warning is repeated every half hour until the

batteries are completely discharged.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTION, ONLY APPLIES TO DUAL PRO

Dual Pro is also equipped with electronics for reproducing ambient sound, known as the listening function. Sound is captured

by two external microphones (figure E1) and reproduced in the speakers inside the hearing protector. Sound is reproduced in

stereo in order to maintain or improve sound direction location. This function is intended for use in settings where it is impor-

tant to be able to hear ambient sounds, such as warning signals, conversation, traffic, etc.

LISTENING FUNCTION

The listening function is controlled using the control knob at the rear of the right ear muff, (figure E2).

Turn – controls the balance between the radio and listening function. A beep indicates when you have reached the midway

setting, which gives complete balance. To hear the radio only, turn fully clockwise. To hear listening function only, turn fully

anticlockwise.

Press – cuts out the radio completely and sets listening function to maximum. This is useful when you need to talk to someone.

Press again (any button) to return to the preset balance.

AUDIO INPUT (E3)

Dual Pro has a single 3.5 mm stereo input socket for connecting an external audio source, such as a two-way radio, hunting

radio, mobile telephone, CD player, radio, etc. If there is a call on the audio input, the pre-set Dual function is automatically

shut off and remains muted until around 15 seconds after the end of the conversation. If there is a pause in the conversation

lasting more than 15 seconds the preset Dual function will automatically be restored. When the audio signal does not exceed

163 mVrms (rms = the equivalent average power of the signal), the noise level inside the cup will not exceed 82 dB(A).

SOUND LEVEL RESTRICTION

The output from the product’s sound reproduction system does not exceed the known risk levels for hearing damage. The

sound from the speakers is limited to 82 dB(A) equivalent sound level.

Temperature range

The ambient temperature range for the FM radio is –20º to +50º C.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

HEADBAND VERSION (Illustration A)

To adjust the force applied to the head, move the slide (A1) up and down the headband arm for most comfortable fit. Brush

excess hair back and out from beneath the cushions with your hand as much as possible. Be certain that the cushions seal

tightly against the head with no interference from objects such as respirator headbands or arms of glasses, in order to obtain

the best performance. With the headband over the head, place the ear cups so as to completely enclose the ears. The ear cups

may be slipped up or down the headband to adjust for a firm, comfortable fit with the headband over the crown of the head.

HELMET MOUNTED VERSION (Illustration B)

FITTING THE CUPS (Illustration B1 to B3).

Pull the ear cup down to the bottom of the yolk and lift the blade until the spring clicks up (B1). Push the attachment blade

into the slot on the side of the helmet (B2). Release the head harness from the rear of the helmet and place the lead from the

cups above the harness’ attachment and replace the harness. Make sure the lead is not tangled. (B3).

The ear muffs have three different positions. WORKING POSITION (figure B4), STAND-BY POSITION (figure B5), PARKING

POSITION(figure B6)

NOTE! In noisy environments the hearing protector must be worn at all times.

WORKING POSITION (Illustration B4).

Adjust the cups until they are comfortable. Make sure that the cushions seal tightly around the ears.

STAND-BY POSITION (Illustration B5).

Lift the cups to the fixed stand-by position. In noisy environments, the ear muffs must be worn in the working position at all

times.

PARKING POSITION (Illustration B6).

First lift the cups to the stand-by position, then rotate them up to the next fixed position.

STORAGE POSITION (Illustration B7).

When the helmet is not in use, lower the ear muffs and press them inward.

COMPATIBILITY

Hearing protector/helmet combinations that meet EN 352-3 are classified in the sizes small (S), medium (M) or large (L).

Medium size fits most users. These ear muffs are only approved for use with the helmets listed below. These hearing protectors

are only approved for use with the following helmets. Additional helmets may have been approved following publication of

these instructions. Please contact your local dealer for further information.

The standard attachment for the helmet mounted ear muffs fit the following helmets

Make sure that the ear muff attachment is intended for the helmet used.

MAINTENANCE

The outside of the muff and the sealing ring can easily be cleaned with soap and water. Ear muffs and in particular cushions

may deteriorate with use and ageing and should be inspected regularly for cracks and leakage. The cushions are filled with

foam and are replaceable. Worn or damaged parts are easily replaced (figure C). Use only hygiene kits from the manufacturer,

designed for electronics, order number 60085 Basic Line, 60084 Pro Line. The hygiene kit should be replaced at least twice a

year for standard use to ensure that the noise attenuation performances are maintained. This product may be adversely affected

by certain chemical substances. Further information should be sought from the manufacturer. The user must ensure that the

hearing protectors or hearing protector/helmet combination:

- fit properly and are adjusted and maintained in compliance with our instructions.

- is always used in noisy environments.

- is inspected regularly to ensure good condition.

Moisture may occur inside the hearing protector muffs if used for long periods. To avoid long-term affects of moisture on the

electronic components it is recommended that the acoustic absorbent is regularly removed to allow the muffs to dry, eg,

overnight (figure C). When removing the sealing ring and absorbent take great care not to touch the electronics board or

cables. Changes in position of cables could cause disturbance in the system. Do not subject the hearing protector to rough

handling, which can damage the electronics. The ear muffs must not be immersed in water!

STORAGE

When the hearing protector is not in use, store it in such a way that the headband is not stretched and the cushions are not

compressed. Helmet mounted ear muffs must always be stored in the working position. Keep the ear muffs dry and clean, and

store them at normal room temperature. Do not place the hearing protector in direct sunlight. In the case of helmet mounted

hearing protection, lower the ear muffs and press them inwards (figure B7). If the product is to be stored for a longer period, it

is recommended that the batteries are removed from the battery holder to prevent them from damaging the product. If the

above recommendations are not followed, the protection afforded by the hearing protector may be severely impaired.

LIMITED TROUBLE SHOOTING

If the electronics cease to function please check the following:

Replace the batteries with new ones.

Ensure that the batteries are correctly fitted in the hearing protector.

Ensure that the battery plates make good contact with the batteries.

Ensure that the battery plates have not become coated with verdigris.

Ensure that there is no moisture inside the muffs. If there is, remove the insert to allow the muffs to dry, e.g. overnight (figure

C).

If this does not help, consult the point of sale.

WARNING!

• This hearing protector is equipped to electronically reproduce radio signals and ambient sound. The user must check that

the product works correctly before using it. If distortion or any other fault is experienced, follow the instructions for changing

and maintaining batteries. If this does not help, contact your dealer.

• Performance may deteriorate as the batteries discharge. In normal use, the estimated life of the batteries is around 180–200 hours

(FM Basic), 130–150 hours (FM Pro), or 120–300 hours (Dual Pro), depending on the quality of the batteries and the method of use.

• The output level of radio reception should be considered when estimating the effective attenuation of the ear muffs. The esti-

mated A-weighted sound level inside the ear muffs must not exceed 82 dB(A) after taking into account the attenuation values

(table, figure K).

• Remember that hearing protectors can generally shut out external ambient sounds, such as warning shouts, alarms and other

important signals. You should therefore be especially watchful of your surroundings when wearing a hearing protector. High

radio volume can further reduce your ability to hear ambient sounds, which could entail great danger for the user and lead to

serious accidents. Remember to adjust the volume to the work situation!

• (Only applies to Dual Pro:) The integral microphones for reproducing ambient sound considerably improve safety in day-to-

day work. NOTE! The listening function can be switched off, which means that warning signals and warning calls will be much

more difficult to hear. To minimise the risk of accidents we therefore recommend that the listening function is switched on

whenever possible.

• (Only applies to Dual Pro:) The output from the listening function circuitry can exceed the actual external sound level.

If used in rain or other wet conditions the listening function may be impaired, and the user should be aware of this reduction

in performance. If this happens, remove the hearing protector immediately and allow the built-in microphones to dry out (with

the ear muffs open for 24 hours) until full performance is restored.

• This product and its batteries must be disposed of in accordance with national regulations.

TESTS

This product fulfils the basic safety requirements of EG directive 89/686, appendix II. The product is tested and approved by

FIOH, Topeliusgatan 41aA, FI-00250 Helsinki, Finland (0403) and CE marked according to relevant parts of EN 352-1 and EN

352-3, EN 352-4 and also fulfils the requirements of EMC directive for CE marking according to EN55013, EN50082-1 and

EN55020.

ATTENUATION – (figure K)

The sound attenuation values for the hearing protector are measured in accordance with EN 24869-1 (with electronics

switched off) by FIOH, and the results are shown in the table in figure K:

Information required by E.P.A:

The level of noise entering a person’s ear, when hearing protection is worn as directed, is closely approximated by the

difference between the A-weighted environmental level and the NNR. Example: The environmental noise level at the ear is 92

dB(A). The NNR is 23 decibels (dB). The level of noise entering the ear is approximately equal to 69 dB(A).

CAUTION:

For noise environments dominated by frequencies below 500 Hz, the C-weighted environmental noise level should be used.

Improper fit of this device will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise. Although hearing protections can be recommended

for protection against harmful effect of impulse noise, the Noise reduction Rating (NRR) is based on the attenuation of continu-

ous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise, such as gunfire.

Förutsättningarna för FM radions ljudkvalité varierar kraftigt beroende på en rad omständigheter bl. a avstånd från sändaran-

tenn, topografi, natur, byggnader, avskärmande material och andra elektriska störningar. Om denna produkt inte motsvarar dina

förväntningar, lämna omgående tillbaka den till försäljningsstället och Ni får pengarna tillbaka. OBS! Har produkten tagits i

regelbundet bruk bortfaller denna möjlighet.

BRUKSANVISNING ELEKTRONIK

AKTIVERING AV HÖRSELSKYDDET / BATTERIBYTE (bild C)

Produkten skall utrustas med 2 st. alkaliska standardbatterier 1,5 V AA. Användning av uppladdningsbara batterier typ NiMH

1,2 V eller NiCd 1,2 V ger en reducerad driftstid. Batterihållaren är helt inbyggd i kåpan utan tangenter. Vid batteribyte, följ

instruktionen nedan (bild C). Börja med att dra kåpan till sitt ändläge (bild C1). Lossa tätningsringen genom att dra den rakt ut

(bild C2).

Avlägsna batterilocket Sätt i batterierna i batterihållaren. Kontrollera att batteriernas + och – poler är rätt vända (bild C3 – C5).

Montera batterilocket (C6).

Lägg tillbaka ljudabsorbenterna (2 st) och tryck på tätningsringen (bild C7). Det är viktigt att efter batteribyte noga kontrollera

att ljudabsorbent och tätningsring är riktigt monterade så att inte bullerdämpningen försämras. Vänd tätningsringens utbuktning

nedåt.

FUNKTIONSTANGENTER (bild D)

På och av, (O)

Starta elektroniken genom tryck på tangenten (O). Stäng av genom att hålla inne samma tangent (O) i 2 sekunder.

Volymjustering, (O)

Volymen justeras med korta tryck på (O). Volymen startar i det läge den senast stängdes av i. Volymen kan justeras i tre lägen

(Basic Line), alternativt fyra lägen (Pro Line). När högsta volymläge nåtts resulterar ytterligare en tangenttryckning i att volymen

startar från lägsta nivån. Utsignalen från produktens ljudåtergivningssystem överskrider ej de kända risknivåerna för hörselskada

(max 82dB(A)).

Inställning av radiostation, (+) (-)

FM-radions frekvensband är 88-108 MHz. Stationssökningen sker automatiskt. Efter ett tryck på önskad riktningstangent ned (-)

eller upp (+) söker radion till nästa station och stannar. En ton hörs som kvittering på varje tangenttryckning. FM-radion startar

på senast använda station. Vid batteribyte raderas detta minne.

Batterisparfunktion

För att ge maximal batterilivslängd är produkten försedd med en batterisparfunktion. Denna funktion stänger automatiskt av

elektroniken efter 4 timmar om ingen tangent aktiverats under denna tid. Återstart sker via ett tryck på tangenten som är placer-

ad i mitten av tangentbordet (O). Ca 2 minuter innan automatisk avstängning hörs tonstötar som varning att kåpan kommer att

stängas av. Genom att då trycka på valfri tangent fördröjs avstängningen med ytterligare 4 timmar.

Snabbinställning frekvens

För att förflytta sig snabbt till den högsta frekvensen tryck på (+) och (O) samtidigt och till den lägsta frekvensen tryck på (-) och

(O) samtidigt.

Stereo / Mono växling, (+) (-) (gäller ej Basic Line)

Vid mycket dåliga mottagningsförhållanden kopplas radion automatiskt över från stereo- till monolyssning. Återkoppling sker

när stabil mottagning erhållits igen. FM-radion kan låsas i mono läge genom ett samtidigt tryck på tangenterna stationssökning

ned (-) och stationssökning upp (+). Vid upprepad tryckning på samma tangenter försvinner monolåsningen. Låsningen försvin-

ner också vid batteribyte.

Batterivarning (gäller ej Basic Line)

Då det återstår ca 10-20 timmar av batteriets livslängd hörs två tonstötar i kåpan. Batterivarningen repeteras varje halvtimme

till dess att batterierna är helt slut.

TILLÄGGSFUNKTION, GÄLLANDE ENDAST FÖR DUAL PRO

Dual Pro är även utrustat med elektronik för återgivning av omgivningsljud, s.k. medhörning. Ljudet fångas upp av två

utvändigt placerade mikrofoner (bild E1) och återges i högtalarna inuti hörselskyddet. Ljudåtergivningen sker i stereo för

bibehållen eller förbättrad riktningsverkan. Funktionen är avsedd att användas i miljöer där behov finns av att höra omgivn-

ingsljud, t. ex. varningssignaler, samtal, trafik etc.

MEDHÖRNINGSFUNKTIONEN

Medhörningsfunktionen styrs med kontrollen/vridratten monterad bak på höger kåpa. Bild (E2).

Vrid – reglerar balansen mellan radio och medhörning. En ton anger när man når mittläge med full balans. Önskas endast

radio, vrid fullt medsols. Önskas endast medhörningsfunktionen, vrid fullt motsols.

Tryck – Dämpar radion helt och ger full effekt på medhörningen. Används med fördel när du behöver samtala med någon.

Ytterligare ett tryck (oavsett knapp) och produkten återgår till inställd balans.

AUDIOINGÅNG (E3)

Dual Pro har en ingång, 3.5 mm stereokontakt, för anslutning av yttre ljudkälla såsom kommunikationsradio, jaktradio, mobil-

telefon, CD-spelare, radio etc. Vid anrop på audioingången kopplas den inställda Dualfunktionen ned och förblir neddämpad

tills ca 15 sekunder efter avslutat samtal. Om det sker en paus i anropet på mer än 15 sekunder kommer den inställda

Dualfunktionen automatiskt tillbaka. När audiosignalen inte överstiger 163mVrms (rms = signalens ekvivalenta medel effekt),

överskrider inte ljudtrycket inne i kåpan 82dB(A).

LJUDNIVÅBEGRÄNSNING

Utsignalen från produktens ljudåtergivningssystem överskrider ej de kända risknivåerna för hörselskada. Ljudet via högtalarna

är begränsat till max 82 dB(A) ekvivalent ljudnivå.

TEMPERATUROMRÅDE

Produktens temperaturområde är från –20°C till +50°C.

BRUKSANVISNING HÖRSELSKYDD

HJÄSSBYGEL (bild A)

Placera kåporna över öronen och justera hjässbygel och kåpor till ett komfortabelt läge. Var noga med att tätningsringen sluter

tätt runt öronen. Bygelns tryck mot huvudet kan ändras med vår unika justerknapp (bild A1). Bygeln är avsedd att bäras över

hjässan. Se till att bygeln inte förvaras i utspänt läge eller att tätningsringarna inte är hopklämda när hörselskyddet inte

används.

HJÄLMKÅPA (bild B)

MONTERING AV KÅPA (bild B1- B3)

Dra ner kåpan till det nedre läget och lyft den utåt (bild B1). Tryck ner kåpans fäste i det spår som finns på sidan av hjälmen

(bild B2). Lossa inredningen från hjälmens bakre del, placera kabeln från kåporna ovanför inredningens fästen och montera till-

baks inredningen. Var noga med att kabeln löper fritt (bild B3).

Kåporna har tre olika lägen. ARBETSLÄGE (bild B4), VILOLÄGE (bild B5), TRANSPORTLÄGE (bild B6)

OBS! I bullrig miljö skall hörselskyddet alltid bäras i arbetsläge.

ARBETSLÄGE (bild B4)

Justera kåporna till ett komfortabelt läge. Var noga med att tätningsringen sluter tätt runt öronen.

VILOLÄGE (bild B5)

Lyft kåpan från örat tills den når det fasta viloläget. I bullrig miljö skall alltid hörselskyddet bäras i arbetsläge.

TRANSPORTLÄGE (bild B6)

Lyft först ut kåporna i viloläge. Vrid sedan upp dem till nästa fasta läge. I detta läge varken skadas tätningsringen eller blir smut-

sig. Kåpan tillåts även att torka invändigt.

FÖRVARING (bild B7)

När hjälmen ej är i bruk, fäll ner hörselskydden och tryck in dem. Håll kåporna torra och rena och förvara dem i normal rum-

stemperatur.

KOMPATIBILITET

Hörselskydd/skyddshjälmskombinationer som uppfyller EN 352-3 klassificeras i storleksklasserna small (S), medium (M) och

large (L), där kombinationer av mediumstorlek passar de flesta användare. Small och large är avsedda för de användare där

inte medium storlek är lämplig. Dessa hörselskydd är endast godkända med och får endast användas till nedanstående sky-

ddshjälmar. Ytterligare hjälmar kan ha tillkommit efter denna bruksanvisnings tryckning. Kontakta din lokala återförsäljare för

mer information.

Hjälmkåpornas standardfäste passar direkt på följande skyddshjälmar:

Kontrollera att hörselskyddets fäste är avsett för den aktuella hjälmen.

SKÖTSEL

Kåpans utsida och tätningsring kan lätt rengöras med tvål och vatten. Hörselkåpor, i synnerhet tätningsringarna, kan försämras

genom användning och åldrande. De bör därför undersökas regelbundet, bl a med tanke på sprickor och läckage.

Tätningsringarna är fyllda med skum och är utbytbara. Slitna och skadade delar bytes lätt (bild C). Använd endast hygiensats

från tillverkaren, avsedd för elektronik, beställningsnummer 60085 (Basic Line) 60084 (Pro Line). Hygiensats bör bytas 2 ggr/år

vid normalt användande för att inte ljuddämpningsförmågan skall försämras. Denna produkt kan avsevärt skadas av vissa

kemikalier. Ytterligare information lämnas av tillverkaren.

Användaren skall försäkra sig om att hörselskydden alt. hörselskydd/hjälmkombinationen:

– är inpassade, justerade och underhållna enligt våra instruktioner

– alltid används i bullriga miljöer

– kondition undersöks regelbundet.

Vid långvarig användning av hörselskyddet kan fukt bildas inuti kåpan. För att undvika långvarigt fuktangrepp på elektron-

ikkomponenterna rekommenderas att regelbundet avlägsna ljudabsorbenten så att kåpan tillåts att torka invändigt, t ex över

natten (bild C). Då tätring och absorbent skall avlägsnas, var mycket försiktig och rör inte elektronikkort eller kablar.

Förändringar av kabeldragning kan orsaka störningar hos systemet. Hörselskyddet skall ej utsättas för onormal hantering, t ex

fall från hög höjd då detta kan skada elektroniken. Kåpan får ej doppas ned i vatten.

FÖRVARING

När hörselskyddet inte används, förvara ej hörselskyddet så att bygeln är utspänd eller att tätningsringarna är hopklämda.

Hjälmfästa kåpor skall förvaras i arbetsläge (bild B4). Håll kåporna torra och rena och förvara dem i normal rumstemperatur.

Låt inte hörselskyddet ligga i direkt solljus. Avseende hjälmmonterade hörselskydd, fäll ner hörselskydden och tryck in dem.

(bild B7). Om produkten skall förvaras under en längre tid, rekommenderas att ni tar ut batterierna ur batterihållaren för att

undvika att batterierna skadar produkten. Om inte ovanstående rekommendationer följs kan hörselskyddens ljuddämpnings-

förmåga avsevärt försämras.

BEGRÄNSAD FELSÖKNING / SKÖTSELRÅD

Om elektroniken slutat att fungera kan enkla åtgärder avhjälpa felet. Var vänlig och kontrollera följande:

• Byt ut de gamla batterierna mot nya.

• Kontrollera att batterierna är korrekt insatta i hörselskyddet

• Kontrollera att batteriblecken har god kontakt med batterierna.

• Kontrollera att batteriblecken inte har ärgat.

• Vid långvarig användning av hörselskyddet kan fukt bildas inuti kåpan. För att undvika långvarigt fuktangrepp på elektronik-

komponenterna rekommenderas att regelbundet avlägsna ljudabsorbenten så att kåpan tillåts att torka invändigt, t ex över nat-

ten (bild C).

Om dessa åtgärder inte hjälper, kontakta inköpsstället.

VARNING!

• Denna kåpa är försedd med elektronisk ljudåtergivning av radiosignaler och omgivningsljud. Användaren skall kontrollera

funktionen innan produkten används. Om distorsion eller annat fel upptäcks, följ instruktionen för byte och underhåll av bat-

terier. Om detta inte hjälper, kontakta återförsäljare.

• Funktionen kan försämras i takt med batteriets utmattning. Vid normal användning är den beräknade batterilivslängden ca

180-200 timmar (FM Basic) och 130-150 timmar FM Pro, och 120 - 300 timmar (Dual Pro) beroende på batteriets kvalitet samt

användningssätt.

• När man beräknar kåpans effektiva ljuddämpning skall utnivån från radioåtergivningen beaktas. Den beräknade A-vägda

ljudnivån under kåpan, med hänsyn tagen till dämpvärden (tabell, bild K), skall ej överstiga 82 dB(A).

• Tänk på att hörselskydd generellt sett kan utestänga omgivningsljud såsom varningsrop, alarm och andra viktiga signaler. Var

därför alltid extra uppmärksam på omgivningen när hörselskydd används. För hög ljudvolym på radion kan ytterligare minska

möjligheten att uppfatta omgivningsljud vilket kan medföra stor fara för användaren och leda till svåra olyckor. Tänk på att

anpassa volymen till arbetssituationen!

• (Gäller endast Dual Pro:) De integrerade mikrofonerna för återgivning av omgivningsljud ökar markant säkerheten i det

dagliga arbetet. OBS! Möjlighet finns att koppla från medhörningsfunktionen, vilket medför att varningssignaler och varn-

ingsrop blir betydligt svårare att uppfatta. För att minimera risken för olyckor rekommenderar vi därför att medhörningsfunktio-

nen är inkopplad i möjligaste mån.

• (Gäller endast Dual Pro:) Utsignalen från medhörningsfunktionen i kretskortet kan överstiga den verkliga yttre ljudnivån.

Vid användning i regn eller andra våta förhållanden kan medhörningsfunktionen försämras, varför användaren bör vara upp-

märksam på försämrad funktion. Om så sker, se till att omedelbart låta hörselskyddets mikrofoner torka (med öppna kåpor i 24

tim) tills full funktion åter uppnåtts.

• Produkten såväl som batterierna skall skrotas i enlighet med nationella bestämmelser.

TESTER

Denna produkt uppfyller de grundläggande säkerhetskraven i EG-direktivet 89/686, bilaga II.

Produkten är testad och godkänd av FIOH, Topeliusgatan 41aA, 00250 Helsingfors, Finland (0403) och CE-märkt enligt de rele-

vanta delarna av EN 352-1, EN 352-3 och EN352-4, samt uppfyller kraven i EMC-direktivet för CE-märkning enligt EN55013,

EN50082-1 och EN55020.

Hörselskyddens ljuddämpningsvärden är uppmätta enl. EN 24869-1 (med elektroniken avstängd) hos FIOH och resultatet

framgår av tabellen i bild K:
