In D1 mode
GP1 : Group 1
The DID in a signal is set to audio group 1.
The AES/EBU digital audio input signal is multiplexed
as 1 CH through 4 CH in an SDI signal. If audio data
has been already multiplexed into the input SDI signal,
the input digital audio signal is multiplexed after all
audio data are erased.
GP2 : Group 2
The DID in a signal is set to audio group 2.
The AES/EBU digital audio input signal is multiplexed
as 5 CH through 8 CH in an SDI signal. If audio data
has been already multiplexed into the input SDI signal
and the DID of audio data has been set to audio group 1,
the digital audio signal is multiplexed later than the
audio data. When the data of audio group 1 is not
detected, D705(MULTIPLEX ERROR indicator) lights
in red and the audio data is not multiplexed.
In D2 mode
GP1 : Group 1
The DID in a signal is set to audio group 1.
The AES/EBU digital audio input signal is multiplexed
as 1 CH through 4 CH in an SDI signal. If audio data
has been already multiplexed into the input SDI signal,
the input digital audio signal is multiplexed after all
audio data are erased. In D2 mode, the DID is usually
set to audio group 1.
GP2 : Group 2
The DID in a signal is set to audio group 2.
The AES/EBU digital audio input signal is multiplexed
as 5 CH through 8 CH in an SDI signal. If audio data
has been already multiplexed into the input SDI signal,
the input digital audio signal is multiplexed after all
audio data are erased. In D2 mode, only one group can
be multiplexed at a time. The DID is not set to audio
group 2 usually.
S501-3 : Factory use only
Keep as the default setting.

1-2. Information of BKPF-105A
S501-4 and S501-5 :
Inhibit switches of audio multiplexing
These switches are inhibit switches of audio multiplexing.
S501-4
OFF : Multiplexes 1/2 CH normally.
ON : Inhibits multiplexing 1/2 CH.
S501-5
OFF : Multiplexes 3/4 CH normally.
ON : Inhibits multiplexing 3/4 CH.
n
Audio multiplexing cannot be performed when no digital
audio signals are input to AES/EBU IN connectors 1 and
2.
S501-6 and S501-7 : Digital mute switches
These switches mute the audio data of an AES/EBU digital
audio input signal digitally (logically).
S501-6
OFF : Multiplexes the audio data of an AES/EBU
digital audio input signal into 1/2 CH.
ON : Multiplexes the digital muted audio data into
1/2 CH.
S501-7
OFF : Multiplexes the audio data of an AES/EBU digital
audio input signal into 3/4 CH.
ON : Multiplexes the digital muted audio data into
3/4 CH.
n
No audio data can be multiplexed when switches S501-4
and S501-5 are set to ON or when no digital audio signal
is input to AES/EBU IN connectors 1 and 2. Therefore,
the settings of S501-6 and S501-7 are disabled in this
case.
S501-8 : 3/4 OPE (3/4 CH operation) switch
The input signal to 1/2 CH can be multiplexed into 3/4 CH
if no digital audio signal is input to 3/4 CH.
OFF : Multiplexes the digital audio input signal to AES/
EBU IN connector 2 as 3/4 CH.
ON : Copies the digital audio input signal to AES/
EBU IN connector 1 and multiplexes it as 3/4 CH.
n
The setting of this switch is disabled when switch S501-
5 is set to ON (inhibits multiplexing 3/4 CH).
44
44
4D701 : SDI IN indicator
This indicator lights in green when a serial digital
video signal corresponding to the setting of S501-1
(D1/D2 system select switch) is input to the SDI IN
connector. It lights in red when no serial digital video
signal is input or when a signal not corresponding to
the system is input.
55
55
5D702 : EDH (Error Detection and Handling)
indicator
This indicator lights in green when the EDH data in
the serial digital video input signal to the SDI IN
connector is normal during detection. It lights in red
when an error is detected by the EDH data. It goes off
when a serial digital video signal containing no EDH
data is input.
66
66
6D703 : SDI OUT indicator
This indicator indicates the existence of the output
signal from the SDI OUT connector. This indicator
lights in green when an output signal exists. It lights
in red when no output signal exists.
77
77
7D705 : MULTIPLEX ERROR indicator
This indicator lights in red when switch S501-2 is set
to group 2 (GP2), but when the audio data of group 1
cannot be detected in an SDI signal. This indicator
goes off when it is in the normal state.
88
88
8S601 : Free-running adjustment switch of

This switch is used during free-running adjustment of
a serial decoder.
OFF : Set during normal operation.
ON : Set during free-running adjustment of a serial
decoder.

!/ S802 : WORD SYNC SELECT switch
The BKPF-105A has a word sync output signal of 48
kHz so as to synchronize to other audio A/D converter
board (BKPF-201, BKPF-201R, etc.). This switch
selects the word sync output level.
NORMAL (1 V p-p) :
This level was newly determined as a signal format
that is used for synchronization of associated digital
audio equipments of BKPF series . This is a 48 kHz
square wave signal of 75 Zline 1 V p-p without DC
offset (DC level is 0 V). The signal can also be
distributed by using a normal video distributor.
HIGH (0 - 5 V) :
This signal conforms to the audio word sync signal
used in the conventional digital audio equipment. It is
a 48 kHz square wave signal of 75 Zterminated with
an amplitude of approximately _0.3 +2.6 V. The
signal cannot be distributed by using an external video
distributor.
