NOTES

ON HANDLINGTHE OPTICAL

PICK.UP

BLOCK

BASE

UNIT

The laser diode in the optical pick-upblock may suffer

electrostatic breakdownbecauseof the potential diference

generated

by the chargedelectrostaticload,etc.on clothing

andthe human

body.

During repair, pay attention to electrostaticbreakdownand

also

use

theprocedure

in theprintedmatter whichis included

in the repair parts.

The flexible board is easilydamagedandshouldbehandled

with care.

NOTESON LASERDIODEEMISSION

CHECK

The laser beam on this model is concentratedso as to be

focused

onthe discreflective surface

by theobjective

lens

theopticalpick-up

block.Therefore,whenchecking

thelaser

diodeemission,observefrom more than30cm

awayfrom the

objectivelens.

LASERDIODE

ANDFOCUS

SERCHOPERATION

CHECK

1. Make POWERswitch on with no disc inserted

anddisc

tableclosed.

2. Confirm that thefollowing operationisperformed

while
