FUNCTIONS

1. Objective tracing

Users can move the joystick on the keyboard to trace the moving objective or convert the field of vision.

Also users can change the angle of the vision or the size of the objective through adjusting the focus.

The camera will automatically adjust and obtain the clear image according to the change of views with

the running of the lens when the auto focus and auto Iris are both defaulted.

Focus/rotate speed auto matching

The dome’s fast response possibly makes the image move quickly and causes the loss of the image only

through slightly operating the joystick when manually adjusting the long focus. However, the dome can

automatically adjust the position of pan/tilt and vertical rotation speed and make it easy to operate the

objective tracing manually.

Auto flip

When the camera tilts downward and goes just beyond the vertical position, the dome rotates 180

degrees. When the dome rotates (flips), the camera starts moving upward as long as you continue to hold

the joystick in the down position. Once you let go of the joystick after the dome rotates, joystick control

returns to normal operation. The auto-flip feature is useful for following a person who passes directly

beneath the camera.

2. Preset functions

If the camera is equipped with motorized pan/tilt and /or lens with feedback potentiometers, preset

scenes may be defined for that camera and stored the Receiver for automatic call up. A maximum of

64 preset

scenes may be programmed for each camera Receiver.

3. Lens control

Zoom control

Users can adjust the zoom of the touch tracker keyboard or matrix system to obtain the full or close-up

scene.

Focus control

The default is set to auto focus.

The camera will automatically focus towards the center of the object and keep the image clear.

Users can manually focus the object to obtain the expectant image when it is necessary.

zManually adjust the focus through the keyboard, refer to manuals of the keyboard or matrix

systems for details.

zAutomatically resume auto focus through operating zoom lens or moving the position when

it is in the position of manual focus.

The camera can’t focus the object as followed:

zThe objective is out of the center.

zThe objective is both far and near at the same time.

zThe objective is a object with bright light, such as FI light, spotlight and so on.

zThe objective is behind the glass with beads or dust.

zThe objective moves too quickly.

zThe objective is very large such as the wall.

zThe objective is too dark or indistinct in itself.

Iris control

The default is set to auto focus.

zThe camera can quickly adjust the Iris to keep the lighting level stable through sensing the

change of the lighting conditions.

zUsers can change the auto Iris mode to manual one through the keyboard, and then adjust

the size of the Iris to obtain the lighting level of the object.

zUsers can resume the Iris into auto focus mode through the keyboard.

Note: Users had better select the auto Iris function. When it is in the auto Iris mode, the Iris on

the keyboard can’t adjust the size of the Iris. Operators can change the size of the Iris only

when it is in the manual Iris mode. It needs control order to resume the Iris into auto Iris mode.

4. Automatic backlight compensation

If there is a bright light source, it will wash out to white. The camera will adjust the Iris so that the

object in the sensitive area is properly exposed.

Note: The camera can realize the function of the backlight compensation only when it is in the auto

Iris

mode. The default is set to “OFF”.

5. Color/B& W Auto Shift

The camera will automatically shift CCD light level according to various lighting conditions. The

camera can be properly exposed because of the enough light level by daylight. At night it will

automatically adjust to low light level and displays clearly through the black & white auto shift，The

default is set to “Auto”.

6. Automatic Home position

“Home position” is the position that a dome returns to after it remains inactive for a specific period of

time.

This ensures that even when the dome is unattended，it will always be pointing to a key area of the

facility.

The user can define that Preset or Pattern，and also how long (from 1 to 60 minutes) before a dome

returns to its home position.

7. Auto Scan Function

Auto scan is a buil-in function designed for the Powerdome speed dome camera. The camera can

realize to auto scan to and for at the setting speed between the left limit and the right limit. It is only

necessary to set the left limit and the right limit positions in advance and operate a outer command to

make the dome move at the fixed speed to realize the auto patrol without operators.

GENERAL OPERATION

The operation method of different system platforms is almost the same and based on the manual of

system manufacturers. When it is on the special occasion that needs special demand and operation

method, however, customers can contact distributors for necessary information. It will simply depict

the control method of Dome when it connects to the matrix systems.

Electrified Auto-check

When the dome is powered on, the camera can automatically move towards horizontal and vertical

direction. When the movement is over, the camera will then adjust the lens so that it assures the dome

will normally run through the auto-check.

Camera Pan/Tilt Control

1. Call the desired camera.

2. Hold the keyboard joystick in the desired direction to move the camera. For control of variable-speed

pan/tilts, camera movement speed is in direct proportion to the position of the joystick; the further

from center the joystick is moved, the faster the camera mover.

3. Release or center the joystick when the camera is at the desired scene or view.

Calling a preset(Pre-positioned)camera Scene

To set up and store a preset scene:

1. Enter a desired camera number in the keypad, then press the “Camera” button to select the

camera.

2. Operate joystick, zoom button, focus button and Iris control to adjust the image of the camera.

3. The for the front panel keyboard ,press the “shot” button; for the Pelco keyboard turn the

keyswitch to the “PROGRAM” position. Enter the desired preset scene number, press the

“SHOT” button to preserve the preset scenes parameters.

To call a preset scene:

1. Enter a desired camera number in the keypad, then press the “Camera” button to select the

camera.

2. Enter the desired preset scene number, press the red “SHOT” button so that the pan/tilt mover to

the preset scene, then zoom, focus and Iris automatically move to the preset parameters. And the

image will be displayed on the monitor.

Zoom Tele and Zoom Wide

The view will be magnified or reduced to realize the function of zoom Tele and zoom wide

through the zoom adjusted program.

Press the zoom Tele button or turn the joystick clockwise until you have the picture you want or you

reach the zoom limit.

Press the zoom wide button or turn the joystick counterclockwise.

Note: The view on the monitor only can slightly change if you press, and the quickly release the

zoom button. The zoom level is determined on the length of pressing button time.

Focus lens control

Focus function means to adjust an object or a scene to be clear.

Press the Focus Far button so that the object or the scene faraway will be clear and the ones near

indistinct.

Press the focus near button so that the object or the scene near will be clear and the ones faraway

indistinct.

Press the focus button until the object becomes clear. Just like the zoom button, the focus level is

determined on the length of the pressing button time.

Manual/Automatic Iris

The dome drive can control the size of the Iris automatically or manually. When choosing the

automatic Iris mode, the camera can automatically sense the change of the lighting conditions and

adjust the size of the Iris. And it can be allowed to adjust the size of the Iris and change the lighting

level only when choosing the manual Iris mode.

Enter the number “1” in the keypad, then press “ON” button in the auxiliary control keypad, and set it

“Manual Iris mode”.

Enter the number “1” in the keypad, then press “OFF” button in the auxiliary control keypad and set it

“Automatic Iris mode”.

Iris lens control

In general ,the automatic Iris adjusts the light lever of video. This setting should be adjusted if the

video lever in the auto Iris mode is too bright or too dark. Move the joystick up or down to a value.

Press the Iris “Open button” to select the value, or press the Iris “Close” button if you don’t want to

change the setting.

ON/OFF backlight compensation

Press the Iris open button to enter the camera menu, and enter the number “66” in the keypad, and

then press the red “SHOT” button.

Press the Iris close button and enter the number “65” in the keypad, and then press the red “SHOT”

button.

The default is set to “OFF”.

ON/OFF digital zoom adjusted program

There are two zoom adjusted program modes: ON/OFF. The default is set to “OFF”.

Press the Iris “Open” button to enter the camera menu, and enter the number “68” in the keypad, and

then press “SHOT” button.

Press the Iris “Close” button and enter the number “67” in the keypad, and then press “SHOT” button.

ON/OFF Home position

Set the number “62” to be the preset and enter the number “2” in the keypad, then press “ON” to

activate the function of guard presets. The dome will automatically return to the “62” preset in five

minutes when its operation is over.

Enter the number “2”,the press “OFF” button to close the function of home position.

The default is set to “OFF”.

ON/OFF Color/B＆W auto shift

There are two color/B＆W auto modes: ON/OFF.

Enter the number “69” in the keypad when it is in the auto mode;

Enter the number”70” in the keypad when it is in the manual mode;

Then for the front pannel keyboard, press the red “Shot “ button; for Pelco, press” SHOT” button, then

it can set auto or manual OCR switch.

Note: when the setting is over, it should power on the speed dome over and again to confirm the

setting to operate normally.

When it is in the manual mode, enter the number “72”, then press the red “SHOT” to switch the image

and display white;;

When it is in the manual mode, enter the number “71” then press the red “SHOT” to switch the image

and display color.

Then for the front pannel keyboard, press the red “SHOT” button; for Pelco, press “SHOT” button.

The default is set to “OFF”.

ON/OFF Auto Scan

Firstly set 63 preset to be the left limit, 64 preset to be the right limit of the dome. Then enter the

number 3 in the keyboard and press ON button to turn on the function of auto scan so that the dome

can realize to auto scan to and for at the setting speed between the left limit and the right limit. When

moving to the limit position, it will stop for 3 seconds, then mover to the different direction.

Enter the number 3 and press OFF button to turn off the auto scan function of the camera.

The default is set to “OFF”.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS AND WARNINGS

Prior to installation and use of this product, the following WARNINGS should be observed.

1. Installation and servicing should only be done by qualified service personnel and conform to all

local codes.

2. Unless the unit is specifically marked as “1” enclosure, it is designed for indoor use only and it

must not be installed where exposed to rain and moisture.

3. After replacement/repair of this unit, electrical components, conduct a resistance measurement

between line and exposed parts to verify the exposed parts have not been connected to line

circuitry.

4. The installation method and materials should be capable of supporting four times the weight of

the enclosure, pan/tilt ,camera and lens combination.
