1 UNPACKING
Before shipment, your new Seedburo Model 1200
®
D Digital Moisture
Tester has been thorough y tested and found free of defects. Upon
unpacking the unit, p ease inspect for any visua damage before
continuing. If any damage or missing part is noticed, p ease retain the
packing materia and contact the office from which the unit was
purchased.

is shipped, a ong with a universa power supp y
with the DUMP CELL and the GRAIN CELL disconnected. Unpack
both ce s and verify that the seria numbers are identica . The uti ization
of components with different seria numbers may resu t in inaccurate
resu ts, since a units are carefu y ca ibrated in the factory to obtain the
most accurate resu ts.

50°F and 95°F.

2 GENERA INFORMATION
The Seedburo Model 1200D
®
Digital Moisture Tester is an automatic,
e ectronic instrument designed for the determination of moisture in
cerea crops and in a wide variety of other products. An outside sca e is
required with accuracy of p us or minus .5 grams for weighing the
samp e.
The officia Grain Standards of the United States specifies that the
percentage of moisture sha be ascertained by:
(a) the use of the air-oven method, or
(b) any device and method which gives equiva ent resu ts.
The Seedburo Model 1200D
®
Digital Moisture Tester is outstanding in
providing this equiva ency quick y and accurate y. The instrument
determines the quantity of moisture in the grain samp e by eva uating
changes in its e ectrica characteristics due to the presence of moisture.
Using interna y stored ca ibration data, this change is automatica y
disp ayed as percent moisture.

Seedburo Equipment Company participates in the NTEP with the Model
1200A Automatic Moisture Tester in the on-going ca ibration program
that represents the NTEP Phase II.
The grains and commodities not isted above can sti be measured for
moisture content using the ca ibration data deve oped by Motomco Ins.,
and are at the discretion of the regu atory body having authority over the
device.

3 TECHNICA REFERENCE
3.1 MAIN COMPONENTS
The Seedburo Mode 1200D
®
consists of the fo owing components:
(1) DUMP CELL
Comp ete y redesigned from the previous version of the 1200D, it
contains temperature sensing probe in the Grain ce . The design of
the DUMP CELL insures that the samp e is a ways deposited into the
GRAIN CELL in the same uniform pattern.

(2) GRAIN CELL
It is ocated direct y under the DUMP CELL and it accommodates a
uniform samp e for maximum accuracy of resu ts. Patented center
post construction compensates for differences in bushe weight and
random dumping. The temperature sensor inside is accurate by 0.5
degrees Ce sius.
The GRAIN CELL is unique y identified by the seria number of the
unit, and is ca ibrated in the factory to work proper y on y with that
unit. The uti ization of a different GRAIN CELL wi cause
inaccurate resu ts.
(3) MAIN HOUSING
The e ectronic circuitry of the Seedburo Model 1200D Digital
Moisture Meter is tota y encased in a rigid die-cast a uminum
housing with components mountings carefu y designed to withstand
the rigors of norma fie d usage. The power-on switch can be found
in the back of the Model 1200D, whi e in the front pane the iquid
disp ay can be found.

3.2 POWER CONNECTION
The Seedburo Model 1200D Digital Moisture Meter is supp ied with
the universa 110/230 VAC power supp y (an optiona car battery cord is
a so avai ab e on request).
The power cord is connected in the AC power in et a so ocated in the
back pane , where the fuse ho der is a so present.
3.3 DISPLAY & KEY PAD
A information, from moisture percent to error messages, is c ear y
disp ayed on the 128x64 pixe s graphic LCD screen (Part a in figure).
Three MULTI-FUNCTION KEYS are ocated be ow the disp ay (Part
b in figure). Their function changes in the operation of the Model
1200D, and is continuous y disp ayed on the ast ine of the graphica
disp ay.
The MEASURE key (part c in figure) button is ocated beneath the
three mu ti-function keys.
