It is recommended that this replace must be installed by a qualied and licensed trades
professional. You will nd in this guide answers to most of your questions, you should also
contact your retailer for any further information.

All dimensions shown are approximate. Check all dimensions accurately prior to installation. In line with
our policy of continuous improvement, we reserve the right to alter specications without notice.
All units comply and MUST be installed to Australian & New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 2918:2001.
When in use some parts may become hot. A suitable re guard is recommended where very young,
elderly or inrm are concerned.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
AXIS I1000 & I1000DS
This wood heater must be installed according to standard trade practices(as per AS/NZS 2918:2001),
according to the manufacturer’s instructions, in addition to local and national regulations (the most
restrictive of the regulations are applicable). This appliance must be installed by a qualied and licensed
professional.
The manufacturer is only an equipment designer and the following elements are not part of its
prerogatives:
• the design of heating installations
• thermal studies
• the creation of networks of heating distribution ducts
These are the domain of professional installers having the required qualications.
This appliance was designed and built in compliance with Australian and New Zealand standards. It
has been tested by an independent laboratory in order to validate the installation and commissioning
parameters. Any alterations to the appliance may cause a hazard and will void any warranties.
AXIS wood heaters are not work site incinerators. The combustion of any materials not listed in this
manual (pg, 18) may lead to damage to some of the appliance’s components.

2. SPECIFICATIONS
This appliance and flue were tested at the following clearances.
The Axis I1000 Single sided free standing appliance and Flo-met universal 8” flue system with a painted
solid casing between the appliance and ceiling conforming to joint Australian/New Zealand Standards
2918:2001, Appendix B.
A minimum 1055mm deep X 1220mm wide and 9mm non-combustible hearth should be used under the
appliance and in front of the appliance door when installing the appliance (see joint AS/NZs 2918:2001
3.3.2). The floor protector should extend 550mm in front of the appliance fuel loading door and be
placed centrally in the 1220mm width.
***The appliance must be elevated a minimum of 250mm above the hearth(on a non combustible
surface). If the heater is placed directly onto the hearth, the hearth dimensions required will be greater.
Please refer to AS/NZS 2918:2001 as per the minimum for a non-tested appliance.

standards and instructions(AS/NZS 2918:2001).
IMPORTANT
Prior to unpacking and installation check that the appliance has not been damaged during transport.
Ensure you check the glass, the door(s), the damper operation and the door locking mechanism
Before any work is carried out, as per local and national regulations and laws, this appliance MUST be
installed by a licensed professional as per Australian and New Zealand Standards 2918:2001.
IMPORTANT WARNING
It is strictly forbidden to use any combustible materials (ie; wooden framing, plaster, etc) near or around
this appliance. Any exception from this rule is a health and safety hazard which will result in a non-
compliant installation and a void of warranties.
Electrical cables and components must not be placed in the vicinity of the appliance as it is a re
hazard.
