DESCRIPTION
Schaefer's oscillating circulation fans have OSHA-approved basket style guards. The durable, totally enclosed
motors are maintenance free and energy efficient. These fans come equipped with two-speed pull chain and
10' long 115 volt grounded cord. These models can be mounted to a pedestal, or wall mount to provide a
45° or 90° coverage sweep.
UNPACKING YOUR FAN
• Visually inspect the unit for any damage that may have occurred during shipping.
• Contact your shipper immediately if any damage is found.
INSTALLING YOUR FAN
Schaefer offers a variety of wall mounts and pedestal mounts for installing your fan. Fan mount must be
installed on a support structure strong enough for the added weight of the mount and fan assembly. The
customer is responsible for determining that their structure is adequate to support these loads.
1. The fan must be mounted so the oscillating mechanism (oscillator
base, linkage arm, etc.) is down.
2. Set the “Sweep” for 90° or 45° by securing the linkage arm to
the eccentric hub using the appropriate threaded hole. The fan is
shipped factory-assembled for 90°. To change the sweep to 45°,
remove the bolt from the outside threaded hole and reattach using
the inside threaded hole.
Note: The connecting bolt and threaded holes have left-hand threads.
3. Be sure there are no restrictions or obstructions to the full range of
oscillation.
4. Oscillator Drive Knob: Pull the knob up to disengage the drive, push
the knob down to engage the drive.
5. Pull the chain switch to start the fan motor. The sequence for the 2-speed chain switch is as follows:
a. OFF b. ON: low speed c. OFF d. ON: high speed

INSTALLING THE FAN TO A PEDESTAL ASSEMBLY
Use the supplied hardware that came with your fan to attach the fan.
1. Position the fan assembly with the Oscillator Base at either side of the
mounting tab.
2. Install the 3/8" bolt through the center hole of the Oscillator Base and
fasten with 3/8" narrow washers and nylock nut.
3. Install the 1/4" bolt through the slot feature and fasten with 1/4" narrow
washers and nylock nut. Adjust the fan to the desired angle* and securely
tighten all mounting hardware.
(* 36" models must be mounted so the fan blade is perpendicular to the
floor)
INSTALLING THE FAN ON A WALL MOUNT BRACKET
Note: Wall Mount Bracket must be orientated as shown (with mounting
leg and diagonal brace down).
Use the supplied hardware that came with your fan to attach the fan.
1. Fasten the Oscillator Motor Mounting Yoke to the Wall Mount Bracket
using the 3/8" carriage bolt, 7/16" wide washer and nylock nut as shown.
2. Install the 3/8" bolt through the center hole of the Oscillator Base and
fasten with 3/8" narrow washers and nylock nut.
3. Install the 1/4" bolt through the slot feature and fasten with 1/4" narrow
washers and nylock nut.Adjust the fan to the desired angle* and securely
tighten all mounting hardware.
(* 36" models must be mounted so the fan blade is perpendicular to the
floor.)
CAUTION: Fasteners may loosen over time. It is important to check
and tighten fasteners frequently.
CAUTION: Inspect mounts and fasteners frequently for corrosion.
Replace any corroded fasteners or parts.
Safety Cable: (Safety Cable Kit sold separately.)
A SECONDARY SUPPORT CABLE SHOULD BE INSTALLED ANYTIME THE FAN IS MOUNTED
OVERHEAD FOR ADDITIONAL SAFETY.
Safety Cable must go around the Large Diameter Wires of the Front and Rear Guards. The
other end of Safety Cable must be securely fastened to a building joist, truss, or beam near
the fan. Take up all unnecessary slack in the cable.

DESCRIPTION
Schaefer’s wall mounts offer the flexibility to
mount circulation fans up to 42" on a wide
variety of surfaces using four distinct mounting
configurations. Mounts allow for 180° swivel
adjustment from side to side with the capability
to tilt up to 45° to direct the air where desired.
Assembled in the USA of heavy-duty steel, these
mounts will provide years of dependable fan
support for your cooling and air circulation needs.
MOUNTING CONFIGURATIONS
Schaefer’s wall mount bracket can be assembled in two
configurations. Some configurations will limit the fan angle
adjustment range.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Support Structure:
The fan mount bracket must be installed on a support structure strong enough for the
added weight of the bracket and fan. Suitable material choices are wood, cement,
brick and steel. Wood supports must be 3" x 3" square post or larger.
Mounting Hardware:
THE HARDWARE TO ATTACH THE FAN MOUNT BRACKET TO THE STRUCTURE
IS NOT SUPPLIED. HARDWARE MUST BE ADEQUATE TO SAFELY SUPPORT THE
LOADS SHOWN IN THE TABLES BELOW.
Attach the fan mount bracket with (3) washers and (3) screws or bolts with Nylock nuts
suitable for your installation (2 fasteners at the 90° bend; 1 fastener at the end away
from the swivel tab). Fasteners should be 5/16"diameter, Grade 2 or better. Lag
screws used for wood installation must be at least 2" long. Always follow the fastener
manufacturer's installation instructions.
Attach the Fan:
THE HARDWARE TO ATTACH YOUR FAN TO THE FAN MOUNT BRACKET IS NOT SUPPLIED IN THIS KIT.
Note: Fasteners are supplied with all current Schaefer circulation fans.
Note: Stainless steel fasteners should be coated with a lubricant (WD-40) to prevent thread galling and
allow subsequent adjustment.
Install (1) 3/8" x 1-1/4" bolt, (2) washers and (1) Nylock nut through Swivel Tab hole
Install (1) 1/4" x 1" bolt, (2) washers and (1) Nylock nut through Swivel Tab slot
Once fan is securely attached to the Swivel Tab, orient
the fan horizontally and tighten the Swivel Tab hardware
to prevent the fan from turning.
Adjust the fan to desired angle and
securely tighten the hardware.
CAUTION: Fasteners will loosen over time. It is important to check and tighten fasteners frequently.
CAUTION: Inspect mounts and fasteners frequently for corrosion. Replace any corroded fasteners or parts.
Disconnect power before cleaning or maintaining your fan in order to prevent serious injury or death.
!
• Excessive dust and debris may cause overheating and reduced fan performance.
• Keep guards, motor and blades clean by vacuuming or wiping with a damp cloth.
• Do not use harsh chemicals or cleaners to clean any part of the fan.
• Pressure washing the unit will void the warranty.
• Sealed motor bearings are pre-lubricated and do not require servicing.
