Emissivity
This thermal imager measures infrared energy from the surface of the
objectandusesthisdatatocalculateanestimatedtemperaturevalue.
Surfacesthataregoodatradiatingenergy(highemissivity),theemissivity
factor is ≥0.90. Shiny surfaces or unpainted metals are not good at
radiatingenergy(lowemissivity)haveanemissivityof<0.6.Tomore
accurately measure materials with a low emissivity, an emissivity correction
is necessary. Emissivity is set directly as a value or from a list of emissivity
values for some common materials.
