Sprintshield Touch
Sprintshield Touch is a device that manages and alerts you about Points of Interest
(POI) based on your GPS location. The device is primarily intended for car use.
Sprintshield Touch uses GPS for location tracking, analyzing available POIs and
displaying the nearest one on the screen. You can add or remove your own points of
interest into the database.
Sprintshield Touch is the smallest of all similar POI based warning products,
designed to be handy and enable discrete mounting in any car interior. It is equipped
with a docking station so it can be powered at all times when the car is running. The
product will be installed in a fixed position in the car. When the vehicle is not started,
the product will continue to stand by through the battery.
Sprintshield Touch is equipped with 3G capability for easy internet software updates
and enabling daily downloads and updates of POI database from the internet. The
POI Database includes speed camera locations, red light cameras and similar points
of interest and will receive regular updates. It is developed and maintained by
professionals for drivers requiring a high level of accuracy and reliability.
Sprintshield Touch has a powerful external speaker used for POI
notifications and alerts. Even if the Sprintshield Touch is left in a less visible
position, the driver can rely on audio alerts from the speaker.
Location is monitored by an external GPS antenna supplied with your Sprintshield
Touch. External GPS antennas are faster locking and more precise so you can rely
on timely and precise notifications.
3G Internet connectivity
Internet connection is realized over inbuild 3G modem. For its operation it is
necessary to insert a nano-sized telecom operator SIM-card to the Sprintshield
Touch. SIM-cards are purchased separately (in some cases a distributor may supply
a SIM-card with the Sprintshield Touch).

3
SIM-card socket is located on the back of the Sprintshield Touch under a rubber
protective door. Remove the door and slide the SIM-card locker to the right to unlock
the locker. Open the locker and insert the SIM-card. Be careful to properly orient the
SIM-card. Close the locker and return it to locked position to the left. Return the
rubber door for proper humidity and dust protection.
Docking Station overview
Docking station performs routing of several important lines from the Sprintshield
Touch to the outside.
- Power supply for charging of the internal battery and for operation while
docked. Cable 1,5 m in length with a USB-A connector. Can be plugged to a
supplied 12 V to 5 V adapter or to any USB charging socket.
- Speaker cable 1,5 m in length with a 3,5 mm female mono socket at the end.
Connect the supplied speaker to the socket.
- GPS SMA female pigtail cable is to be connected to the supplied external
GPS antenna.

4
Warning! Docking station routes signal from the GPS antenna to the Sprintshield
Touch. When removed from the docking station the Sprintshield Touch will have
difficulty determining its geographic location and thus alerting functions will be
limited. Use the un-docked battery operation mostly for editing settings.
GPS Antenna and 12 V power adapter
External GPS antenna is supplied with the Sprintshield Touch. Antenna should be
mounted with the view unobstructed view of the sky or under a plastic, glass or other
non-metal vehicle part. Antenna is connected to the docking station and via pogo
pins to the Sprintshield Touch.
Power converter that converts vehicle’s 12 V power supply to 5 V is also supplied.
Connect the red wire to the positive switched power supply +12 V and black wire to
the vehicle chassis/ground or to the negative power supply.
Sprintshield Touch can also be powered by a standard USB power charger or vehicle
USB power socket.
Speaker

5
Sprintshield Touch is delivered with a loud 3 W Speaker for crystal clear alerts even
in noisy vehicle cabin surroundings. When using the Sprintshield Touch un-docked
the audio signal is routed to the built-in speaker so navigating the settings will
perform an audio feedback as well.
