1 Prerequisites
The pump must have enhanced PROFIBUS® functionality by
means of a plug-in module. To do this, insert the plug-in module
into the front of the pump (similar to a relay module). The menu
item “PROFIBUS® then appears in the operating menu.
The pump requires a minimum of software version
V01.03.06.00 (delta® DLTa) or V01.01.00.00
(Sigma Control SxCb) and hardware version
V01.04.00.00 for the delta® for the PROFIBUS®
module to work correctly. If it is not working, the
LED on the PROFIBUS® module flashes slowly red
and green.
The pump can then be extended with PROFINET® functionality via
the DULCOnvert converter.

2 Setting up installation
2.1 General
Familiarise yourself with the process:
We describe here how to set up the pump for
PROFIBUS® mode - you will later meet the pump’s
PROFINET® protocol via the DULCOnvert in the
master control system!
For this reason, "PROFIBUS®" is interchangeable
with "PROFINET®” at many points.
The pump with a plug-in PROFIBUS® module is set up in the same
way as a standard pump, with the addition of the bus functionality.
The software interrupts the set-up process in the
event of pauses of longer than 60 s.
2.2 Setting up the PROFIBUS® slave address
1. Connect the disconnected DULCOnvert by its PROFIBUS®
cable to the pump’s PROFIBUS® socket.
2. Press
[P]
for 2 seconds on the pump.
3. delta® only: Use the
[arrow keys]
to go to
„Settings“
and
press
[P]
.
4. Use the
[arrow keys]
to go to
„PROFIBUS®“
and press
[P]
.
5. Use the
[arrow keys]
to go to
„Address“
and press
[P]
.
Always enter the PROFIBUS® address “002” as a 3-digit number:
1. Die 1. Use the
[Down]
key to go to the 1st digit “0” and press
[P]
.
2. Die 2. Use the
[Down]
key to go to the 2nd digit “0” and press
[P]
.
3. Die 3. Use the
[arrow keys]
key to go to the 3rd digit “2” and
press
[P]
.
2.3 Activating / deactivating PROFIBUS®
„PROFIBUS®“
must be set to
„active“
in the operating menu for
the pump to be controlled by the PROFIBUS®:
1. Press
[P]
for 2 seconds.
2. Use the
[arrow keys]
to go to
„PROFIBUS®“
and press
[P]
.
3. Use the
[arrow keys]
to go to
„active“
or
„inactive“
and press
[P]
. You’re done!

4

All external inputs, such as level monitoring, metering monitoring
and external control (pause, contact input, analogue input), will
function while the PROFIBUS® is
„active“
. They result in the reac‐
tions that would be expected with the pump without the PRO‐
FIBUS® module being plugged in - see pump operating instruc‐
tions. The pump transmits corresponding information via the
PROFIBUS® to the master (PLC Programmable Logic Controller,
PC etc.).
If the PROFIBUS® is set to
„inactive“
, the settings for the operating
mode previously selected are reloaded.
If the pump is switched to another operating mode, it stops and can
only be restarted using
[Stop/Start]
.
2.4 PROFINET® settings
1. Connect the DULCOnvert to its supply voltage.
2. Connect the DULCOnvert to your PROFINET® network - see
“Installation” chapter.
3. Select
„Update accessible devices“
in the TIA portal under
„Online accesses“
.

3 Special features in active PROFIBUS® mode
3.1 General
The pump cannot be manually set or programmed
in PROFIBUS® mode! To do this, set the PRO‐
FIBUS® to „inactive“ .
nUse button
[i]
to switch between the continuous displays at any
time, as in the other operating modes. This does not affect the
operation of the pump.
nThe settings from other operating modes are carried over when
switching over to PROFIBUS® mode. However, settings made
using the PROFIBUS® are not saved! They only apply as long
as the pump is linked to the PROFIBUS® . Only the total
number of strokes and the total number of litres continue to be
counted and saved.
nIf the pump is switched to PROFIBUS® mode, it stops and can
only be restarted using the PROFIBUS®.
3.2 Displays
There are other identifiers in the operating display when PRO‐
FIBUS® mode is running.
The current identifiers are listed in the “Control ele‐
ments” chapter in the "Operating instructions for
the solenoid metering pump delta® with controlled
solenoid drive optoDrive®” or the “Operating
instructions for the motor-driven metering pump
Sigma/ x Control type SxCb”.
Stop PROFIBUS®: The pump has been stopped by the PRO‐
FIBUS®. The master has sent the pump a corresponding telegram.
Connection error: If the pump loses its connection to the PRO‐
FIBUS® (for instance as soon as the PROFIBUS® is stopped), then
the fault symbol and the symbol flash on the main display.

3.4 Using the metering monitor
The "Metering monitor" socket must be used to use the metering
monitor in PROFIBUS® mode. The pump then transmits
„available“
for the "Flow" status bit. The metering monitor can be
switched on and off using the PROFIBUS® using the
„Flow
control“
parameter - see
Ä Chapter 5.4.1 „Overview of the data
objects“ on page 15

4 Assembly and electrical installation
Please follow this order:
A. - Install the housing
B. - Install the PROFIBUS® cable
C. - Connect DULCOnvert to the mains voltage
D. - Install the PROFINET® cable
E. - Properly close the housing
1. Flap open the two flaps on the left and right of the housing
cover.
2. Use appropriate screws to screw the housing to a vertical
base surface close to the pump using the 4 deep drill holes
(taking into account the length of the PROFIBUS® cable and
the plug-in power unit).
CAUTION!
When installed, the top should be pointing
upwards otherwise the specific IP degree of
protection will not be achieved.
Connect the PROFIBUS® cable from the DULCOnvert to the
pump’s PROFIBUS® socket.
There is no need for terminal resistors.
Connect the plug-in power unit of the DULCOnvert to the
mains voltage.
1. Unscrew the housing screws and open the cover.
2. Screw the clamping screw of the large threaded connector on
the left of the housing and remove the rubber insert.
3. Correctly thread the clamping screw the right way round onto
your PROFINET® cable.
4. Guide the PROFINET® cable into the housing and insert it
into the socket on the converter until it snaps into place.
5. Place the rubber insert around the cable and press into the
threaded connector.
6. Screw the clamping screw onto the threaded connector until
it is moisture-tight.

CAUTION!
Carefully close the housing otherwise the specific
IP degree of protection will not be achieved.
1. Check whether the sealing surfaces of the housing cover and
the black seal of the lower part of the housing are free of dirt.
2. Replace the housing cover onto the lower part of the housing
and fasten in place with the screws.
3. Close the two flaps on the left and right of the housing cover.
