expect during your daily activities. Once you understand how to safelyoperate and care

for your power chair, it should give you years of trouble-free operation and service.

Read and follow all instructions, warnings, and notes in this manual before attempting to

operate your power chair for the first time. You must also read all instructions, warnings,

and notes contained in any supplemental instructional booklets for the controller, front

riggings, and/or seating system that accompanied your power chair before initial operation.

Your safety depends upon you, as well as your provider, caretaker, or healthcare

professional in using good judgement.

If there is any information in this manual which you do not understand, or if you require

additional assistance for setup or operation, please contact your authorized Pride Provider.

Failure to follow the instructions in this manual and those located on your power

chair can lead to personal injury and/or damage to the power chair and may void

the warranty.

The Fusion E® power chair is classified as a category B vehicle under the European power

chair standard EN 12184. It is intended for the use of people of all ages who may have

difficulty walking distances or for periods of time. It is ideal for outdoor use and suitable for

users up to 150kg (330 lbs.) in weight. Differing user weights can cause performance

variation. The power chair is designed to be driven on footpaths and to crossroads.

Fusion E® has been manufactured to comply with the requirements of the Medical Device

Directive 93/42/EEC, and the Medical Device Regulation EU MDR 2017/745, the radio

DO NOT OPERATE THE POWER CHAIR BEFORE READING AND UNDERSTANDING

THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT ABOUT THE MEANING OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, OR ANY

OF THE CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR HEALTHCARE

PROFESSIONAL, DEALER OR RELEVANT TECHNICAL PERSONNEL.

FAILURE TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE POWER CHAIR OPERATION MAY RESULT

IN AN UNEXPECTED RESPONSE FROM THE EQUIPMENT WHICH CAN IN TURN

LEAD TO POSSIBLE INJURY OR DAMAGE.

NOTES

Warning and Caution notices used in this manual, apply to hazards and unsafe practices

that could result in personal injury or damage to property.

WARNING

We supply an extensive range of power chairs to meet the varying needs of individual

users. It is the responsibility of the individual user and their healthcare advisor qualified in

making such choices, to decide which power chair is suitable for the user’s intended

purpose.

With regards to restraints, seat positioning straps, posture correction or other positional

aids and accessories, it is the obligation of the qualified healthcare professional in

conjunction with the dealer to ensure the suitability of such equipment for the safe

operation of the power chair.

Serious injury can occur in the event of a fall from a power chair.

For motor vehicle occupancy, the safest alternative is for an individual to be seated and

properly secured in a motor vehicle manufacturer designed and installed seating system

complying with international standards governing motor vehicle design and safety.

Recognizing, however, that many individuals suffering mobility impairment are practically

incapable of transferring to an automobile seat for automotive transport, international

legislation, enacted with the support of advocates for the disabled and industry

stakeholders, have adopted ISO 7176-19 as a crash worthiness testing standard for

occupied transfer of mobility devices. Fusion E® has been tested and successfully passed

the ISO 7176-19 for four-point tiedowns.

Read and follow the information in the owner’s manual.
