the back of the appliance as you may injure your fingers and
hands. Make sure that mains cable is not caught under the
appliance during and after carrying/moving the appliance, to
avoid the mains cable becoming cut or damaged.
Before inserting the plug into the wall socket make sure that the voltage and
frequency shown in the rating plate inside the appliance corresponds to
your electricity supply. We recommend that this appliance is connected to the
mains supply via a suitable switched and fused socket in a readily accessible
position.
WARNING! THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket, then the plug should be removed
and an appropriate plug fitted. Destroy the old plug which is cut off as a plug with
bared cord could cause a shock hazard if inserted into a socket. The plug on this
appliance incorporates a 13 A fuse. Should the fuse need to be changed a fuse of
the same rating must be used. Ensure that the fuse cover is refitted.
Install the freezer on a flat surface in order to prevent vibration and noise.
If required adjust the levelling feet at the front by turning them.
Choose a dry well-ventilated place.
Minimum space in the room where the freezer is being installed should be
10 cubic metres.
Choose a location where there is no heat source. Keep the freezer away
from direct sunlight, oven etc.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
INSTALLATION

7
If inserting into a cabinet there must be clearance of 9 cm at the back of
the Freezer and 2cm at the side.
The minimum distance between the top of the cabinet and the wall unit
must be at least 100 mm .
The
power cord must not be lengthened. Ensure
that the power plug is
not squashed or damaged by the back of the appliance. A damaged
Power plug may overheat and cause a fire.
Insert the plug into the wall socket and switch on the electricity supply.
You will hear a noise as the compressor starts up. The liquid and gases
sealed within the refrigeration system may also give rise to noise
Whether the compressor is running or not which is quite normal.
Set the thermostat to “3” and close the door. After 30 minutes you should
observe a drop in temperature.
Front edges of the cabinet may feel warm. This is normal.
Do not load the appliance immediately it is switched on. Wait until the
correct storage temperature has been reached. We recommend that the
temperature be checked with an accurate thermometer or wait 24 hours.
To turn off the appliance, turn the temperature regulator to the "Dot
Symbol" position.
“4” on the thermostat represents the lowest temperature.
Before Use Check That:
The interior is dry and air can circulate freely at the rear of the cabinet.
Interior is cleaned as recommended under "Cleaning and Care".
USING YOUR FREEZER

8
How to Use the Freezer Compartment:
Food can be frozen in the top compartment of the appliance by placing it here for
a period of 24 hours; frozen food should then be moved from the top
compartment into the other two storing compartments
Do not place food products directly against the air outlet on the rear wall
Pre-packed commercially frozen food should be stored in accordance
with the frozen food manufacturer's instructions for a frozen food
storage compartment. Your Freezer is 4 star, when you are buying frozen
food, look at the Storage Guidelines on the packaging. You will be able
to store each item of frozen food for the period shown against the 4 star
rating
To ensure that the high quality achieved by the frozen food manufacturer
and the food retailer is maintained, the following should be observed:
- Put packets in the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase
- Ensure that contents are labelled and dated
- Do not exceed "Use By" or "Best Before" dates on the packaging
If there is a power failure do not open the door. Frozen food should not
be affected if the failure lasts for less than 14 hrs. If the failure is longer,
then the food should be checked and either eaten immediately or cooked
and then refrozen
Freezing Fresh Food:
Do not freeze too large a quantity at any one time. The quality of the
food is best preserved when it is frozen right through as quickly as
possible
Placing warm food into the freezer compartment causes the
refrigeration compressor to operate continuously until the food is
frozen solid. This can temporarily lead to excessive cooling of the
refrigeration compartment.

9
Frost will build up in certain areas of the Freezer compartment. As a temporary
measure, this frost should be scraped away using a plastic scraper. NEVER use a
metal or sharp instrument. Complete defrosting will however become necessary
approximately once per year, or if the frost layer exceeds 5mm to maintain the
efficiency of the Freezer. This should be carried out if the frost build-up cannot be
scraped away, or if it begins to interfere with the food storage. Chose a time when
the stock of frozen food is low and proceed as follows:
Remove frozen food. Ideally the frozen food should be put into
Another freezer.
Turn the Freezer off at the mains supply.
Leave the doors open.
Scrape away as much frost build-up as possible using the plastic scraper.
To accelerate the thawing process place bowls of hot water inside
The Freezer cabinet. As the solid frost loosens, prize it away with
The plastic scraper and remove. Wipe up water and dry.
Turn temperature control to “4”and leave to run for at least 8 hours.
Reload after red indicator light has turned off.
WARNINGS!
The fan inside the freezer compartment circulates cold air.
Never insert any object through the guard.
Do not allow children to play with the freezer fan.
Never store products that contain inflammable propellant gas (e.g. dispensers,
spray cans etc.) or explosive substances.
Don’t cover the shelves with any protective materials, which may obstruct air
circulation.
Do not allow children to play with the appliance or tamper with the controls.
Do not obstruct the freezer fan guard.
DEFROSTING

10
1. The thermostat located centre of the freezer compartment controls the
temperature of the freezer
2. Turn the thermostat knob to the right to increase the temperature.
3. Set the temperature selector to “3” . “Dot Symbol” is “OFF” AND “4”
represents the lowest temperature
When the appliance is switched on for the first time, the setting knob should be
adjusted so that after 24 hours, the average freezer temperature is no higher than
+5 degrees Celsius. Some sections of the freezer may be cooler or warmer (such
as the salad crisper and the top part of the cabinet. The temperature of the
freezer compartment should be should be between -18°C and -25°C.
We recommend that you switch off the appliance at the socket outlet
and pull out the mains plug before cleaning
Never use any sharp abrasive instrument, soap, household cleaner,
detergent or wax polish for cleaning
After defrosting wash with a weak solution of bicarbonate of soda. Then
rinse with warm water using a damp sponge or cloth and wipe dry.
Wipe the inside and outside of freezer with a damp soft cloth, a soft cloth
with a mild detergent may also be used if required
Excess deposits of ice should be removed on a regular basis with the
handle of a spoon. Large accumulation of ice will impair the performance
of the appliance
Check door seals regularly to ensure they are clean and free from food
particles
