OPERATION
•This tool is intended to bend mild steel, copper and aluminum tubing. It can
be used for bending exhaust pipe, water pipe and electrical conduit. Do not
bend plastic or PVC pipe with this tool.
•This tool includes three sets of rollers: small, medium and large.
•The minimum practical bend radius for any tube varies with the diameter
and wall thickness of the tube. Extra-heavy tubes can be bent to a smaller
radius than thinner wall tubes of the same diameter. In general, tubes of
standard wall thickness should not be bent to a radius less than 5 to 6
times the nominal tube diameter.
Tubing Diameter Tubing Diameter
1 in. 5 in.
2 in. 10 in.
1. Place a wrench on the hex portion of the adjustment bolt (#8) and turn
counterclockwise raising the upper die.
2. After raising the bottom edge of the upper die above the top edges of the
drive roller dies, place your piece of tubing into the machined cutouts of
the roller dies until it is contacting all three roller dies then tighten the
adjustment bolt (#8) down 1/4 turn to put light pressure on the tubing.
3. Facing the handwheel, begin forming by feeding your tubing into the left
side of the machine while turning the handwheel to the right and tightening
down gently with the adjustment bolt (#8).
4. When creating tighter radii (such as the handwheel from this device), you
may need to spiral your work slightly to clear the body of the machine. This
can easily be flattened after completion.
CHANGING ROLLERDIES
1. Using a wrench, loosen and remove the Bolt (#26) and Handwheel(17)
from the Driving Shaft (#18).
2. With a hex key, loosen the set screws (#29) on the Chain Wheel (#21), then
pull the Chain Wheel (#21) and Chain (#20) off the Driving Shaft (#18).
