durability, ease of operation and safety. Follow these instructions, and enjoy the benefits of your Solar
Heater for many years to come. Thank you for purchasing.
Important Safety Information
CAUTION:
The Solar Heater is designed to be installed on the ground next to your pump and filter system. Please
ensure that the installation does not provide children access to the pool. The recommended installation
is on the ground and not mounted on a roof or standing structure. Doing so could damage the Solar
Heater and the mounting surface and void your warranty.
IMPORTANT:
Carefully read this manual. Failure to comply with these instructions can cause injury, death, or
damage to the unit. Do NOT allow children to operate the Solar Heater.
Always turn the filter system off when installing, working on, or servicing the Solar Heater.
Install the Solar Heater far enough away from the pool to prevent children from using it as a way to
access the pool.
When loosening any threaded connections on your filter pump or pool, be sure that the filter hoses are
closed or blocked to prevent water flow.
Please try to keep all the connection hoses straight.
NOTE: Be sure to place a solar blanket on at night to help retain the heat generated by the
Solar Heater.
Multiple heaters can be used in order to optimize and maintain an increase in water temperature.
A 59027 Solar Heater Connection Kit is available for use with an additional 59026 Slim Line
Above-Ground Solar Heater.
WARNING! POSITION THE SOLAR HEATER SO THAT IT DOES NOT PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE POOL FOR CHILDREN.
WARNING! MOUNT ON GROUND. DO NOT MOUNT ON A ROOF OR STANDING STRUCTURE.

How The Solar Heater Works:
Water flows out of your pool and through the filter pump into the Solar Heater. A plug built into the lower
header pipe of the Solar Heater forces the water up through the left half of the unit. When the water
reaches the Solar Heater’s upper header pipe, it flows to the right and back down through the right half
of the Solar Heater. As the water travels through the Solar Heater, it is heated by the sun. The heated
water then flows out of the Solar Heater and back to your pool.
Where should I put the Solar Heater?
The Solar Heater should be placed on a hard, level surface.
Never place the Solar Heater on a roof or other standing structure.
Position the Solar Heater on the ground where it will receive at least 10 hours of direct sunlight a day.
The more exposure to the sun the greater the water temperature will increase.
The Solar Heater should be angled toward the sun using the legs provided.
When should I run the Solar Heater?
The Solar Heater works best when the sun is shining.
NOTE:
The Solar Heater is to be installed between the filter pump and the pool water return inlet. The Solar
Heater must be placed after the filter to prevent buildup of dirt/debris in the tubing.
If the Solar Heater needs to be further from the filter than the hose length allows, you may need to
purchase longer hose with a
1½”
diameter opening, or connect 2 hoses together using a
1½”-1½”
coupler (not included). In this case, make certain you have two hose clamps to secure the hose to the
coupler.
Ensure that at any connection point, the hose connections are tight and hose is NOT kinked or bent at
severe angles. If the hose leaks, check to make sure ALL of the parts that use O-Rings are attached
correctly and secured tightly. DO NOT over tighten hose clamps.
You may find that the hose ends are difficult to put over the hose adapters. If this is the case, soak
the hose ends in hot water to soften up and then place them over the hose adapters.
When attaching any hose to any connection, make sure to use the provided hose clamps. Slip a hose
clamp over the hose end BEFORE connecting.

Reference Description QTY
ASolar Heater 1
B1½” x 6’ 6” Flex hose (hose can be cut at mid point to make two 1½” x 3’ 3” hoses) 1

H1½” PVC Couplings 2
1. Remove Solar Heater from the box. Note IN (left
side) and OUT (right side) markings on the bottom of
the Solar Heater.

5
3. Place O-rings on the short
side of each of the Hose adap-
tors and insert that same side
into the IN and OUT openings
of the Solar Heater. Attach the
PVC Couplings over the Hose
adaptors and tighten to secure.
4. Plug the return fitting from
inside the pool to ensure that
water does not flow out of the
pool when disconnecting the
return hose from pool’s return
Inlet in the next steps.
2. The Solar Heater will come
with the PVC Couplings
already threaded over the IN
and OUT openings at the
bottom right and left sides of
the Solar Heater. Remove the
PVC Couplings from both
sides.
5. Make sure the filter pump is
turned OFF so no water flows out
of the filter when disconnecting
the return hose from the swim-
ming pool return Inlet.

6
NOTE: Make sure that you
have blocked the return inlet
from the inside of the pool
before proceeding to the
next step to ensure that
water will not flow out of the
pool.
6. Disconnect the return
hose (A) from pool’s return
inlet (B).

7
7. Take the end of the return hose (A) and
connect to the hose adapter that has been
previously inserted into the IN (left) side of
on the Solar Heater. Make sure that a hose
clamp is in place. Tighten the hose clamp
to secure hose end onto hose adapter.
NOTE: It is important that the hose has a
tight fit over the adapters to ensure that
no leaks occur. You may find that the
hose ends resist fitting easily over the
adapters. Therefore, you may have to
soak the ends of the hoses in hot water
to soften up before inserting over the
hose adapters.

8. Using the flex hose included in this kit,
connect one end (C) of the flex hose to the
hose adapter previously inserted into the
OUT (right) side of the Solar Heater. Make
sure that a hose clamp is in place. Tighten
to secure. Connect the other end, D, to the
pool return inlet (B). Tighten hose clamp to
secure.

NOTE: Your Solar Heater should follow this same basic configuration process. Please keep in
mind that not all above-ground pools have the INLET and OUTLET in the same location as this
image. The most important thing to remember is that the hose coming from the filter MUST go
into the IN side of the Solar Heater and the hose connected to the OUT side of the Solar Heater
feeds back into the INLET of the pool. Orient the Solar Heater as needed to ensure this order
process is followed.

8
9. Put the adjustable legs
and leg covers on the Solar
Heater.
10. Remove the protective
film from clear cover.
Your Solar Heater is ready for use. You can unblock the pool return and turn your filter pump on.
NOTE: Be sure to place a solar blanket on at night to help retain the heat generated by the Solar Heater.
Multiple heaters can be used in order to optimize and maintain an increase in water temperature. A 59027
Solar Heater Connection Kit is available for use with an additional 59026 Slim Line Above-Ground Solar
Heater.

Winterization:
The Solar Heater MUST BE DRAINED FOR WINTERIZATION! FREEZE DAMAGE IS NOT COVERED
UNDER WARRANTY! YOU MUST DRAIN THE SOLAR HEATER JUST LIKE YOU DRAIN THE REST
OF YOUR POOL EQUIPMENT! It is always best to store your Solar Heater inside a warm, dry place for
winter storage. It is recommended to flush the unit with fresh water to remove chemicals prior to storage.
