Read t carefully before sa l ng.
If th s s your f rst boat, or s a boat you are not fam l ar w th, we recommend that you pract ce
controll ng the boat n l ght cond t ons and sheltered waters. Learn how the boat behaves at d fferent
speeds. Be sure hav ng enough exper ence before tak ng respons b l ty as sk pper. Your reta ler, the

2. Certification
Your boat was bu lt n France and has been cert f ed n accordance w th the appl cable parts of the
d rect ve for pleasure craft 94/25/EC of the European Parl ament.
The d fferent equ pment of your sh p such as the rudder system, the fuel tank, hoses... also cert f ed
and thus corresponds to the current European standards.
Th s boat has been des gn for category A w th a l m ted number of passengers of 4 n accordance w th
ISO 12217-2. Th s category s cons dered as be ng des gned for use n waves.
Users of th s boat are nformed that:
•All passengers must be tra ned
•The boat must not be loaded more than recommended by the sh pyard.
•There must be enough water clearance to sa l
•Stab l ty s reduced f you add some load n the ups.
•Water b lge must be m n m sed
•In bad weather cond t ons, all hatches, chests and doors must be closed to avo d water n-
take.
•Stab l ty can be reduced when the boat s tow ng or hangs mportant load w th her dav t or
boom.
•Break ng wave can represent a b g danger to stab l ty

Description of the design categories:
A. - A category A pleasure boat s des gned regarded as for w nds who can exceed ng 8 force
(Beaufort scale) and make waves who exceed s gn f cant he ght of 4m. But exclud ng the great
cond t ons such as storms, v olent storms, tornadoes and extremes sea cond t ons or huge waves.
B. - A category B pleasure boat s des gned regarded as for w nds may reach 8 Beaufort ncluded and
waves wh ch can have a he ght of 4 meters ncluded.
C. - A boat of des gn category C s des gned regarded as for w nds may reach 6 Beaufort ncluded and
waves wh ch can have a he ght of 2 meters ncluded.
D. - A boat des gn category D s des gned regarded as for w nds may reach 4 Beaufort ncluded and
waves wh ch can have a he ght of 0,3 meters ncluded. W th, occas onal, waves of max mum he ght
of 0.5 meters.
The boats of each des gn category shall be des gned and constructed to res st to the sett ngs
concern ng the stab l ty, buoyancy, and other essent al techn cal requ rements, conta ned n the
off c al document (decree n° 2016-763 / 09-06-2016) and to have good manoeuvrab l ty
character st cs.
3. Security
For secur ty purpose, the use of a harness s h ghly recommended. To do so, some fold ng padeyes
(2400kg res stance) are d sposed n the cockp t as well as two l fel nes runn ng on the deck on port
and starboard. We rem nd you that l fe-l nes are mandatory.
Do not forget that wear ng a l fejacket can save your l fe.
Regularly check the ntegr ty of your l fel nes and that of the guard l nes and all attachment parts.
Part cular care must be taken regard ng the rope attachment of the guard l nes to the balcon es. It
must be able to support 1500 kg or above (for example, 8 turns of 200kg l nes).

4. ngine
ngine Type:
Standard Eng ne for Pogo 30 s the D1-13 from Volvo Penta Sa l-dr ve. Opt onally, t can be f tted w th
D1-20 or D1-30. The propeller s a fold ng two blades from Volvo Penta as well.
Use and maintenance of the engine :
Please refer to the Volvo Penta manual called “ nstruct on book”. A complete read ng of the manual
before serv ce s recommended to prevent damage and know the wear parts of the eng ne.
ngine cooling inlet seacock:
It s very mportant to check the cool ng seacock s open before start ng the eng ne. It s located on
the sa l-dr ve base, on ports de. You can access t by the port cab n hatch.
When the eng ne s on, check the water c rculat on of the cool ng system. Some water should come
out of the exhaust.
At the eng ne start, t s recommended to put some power for a few seconds n order to properly
n t ate the cool ng system.
Check lists
It s very mportant to correctly take care of your eng ne. Follow the ma ntenance schedule and check
the eng ne o l and coolant level.
Check the sacrificial anode carefully. The first one’s erosion will happen quickly. Check them
regularly.
Stay up to the property of the serv ce module and check regularly that there are no outflows (fuel,
water).
Information
If you need more nformat on about your eng ne and ts ma ntenance, please contact your Volvo
Penta dealer for ass stance.
Gasoil tank:
The nstalled d esel tank has a capac ty of 60L. It s equ pped w th a fuel supply cut down valve. Th s
valve must always be access ble

5. Swinging keel
This chapter does not concern the owners of a fixed keel Pogo 30
The Keel must be n the lower pos t on when sa l ng
Operation:
G ven the electr cal power needed to use the keel ram, t s necessary to start the eng ne tu use the
Hydraul c set of the keel (only for electr cal sw ng ng keel systems.
Once the eng ne s on, the keel movements are p loted by the two buttons located on the starboard
panel of the central.
You may stop the movement at any t me us ng the th rd red button.
Access to the Hydraulic system:
To access the hydraul c system, unscrew the 4 top aft screws of the central table. Then sl de the
ent re aft part of the table aft wards.
Maintenance:
A regular checkup of the o l level s recommended to detect eventual leaks. The system o l dra n must
be done every two years.
The o l level ng must be done keel n lower pos t on (or ram n shortest pos t on). NEVER EXCEED
MAX MARK, there are r sk of tank explos on.
The O l used s ISO-L-HV type, grade 46 (m neral hydraul c o l, 46 cent stokes v scos ty).
When gett ng the boat out of water, perform a v sual check of the underwater parts of the keel
system: the rotat on ax s.

Tuning of the hydraulic system’s brake
The keel system s tuned at the sh pyard.
However, t m ght be necessary to have a look at the brake f the o l v scos ty changes w th
temperature. F ts and starts wh le lower ng the keel represents such a need.
When should you use th s sett ng:
The keel comes down by f ts and starts
The keel doesn’t reach ts bottom stop
How to adjust:
If the keel come down by f ts and starts, you have to t ghten the brake (turn clockw se). Be
careful, adjust w th f neness, turn by e ghth of a turn (max mum half a turn, usually e ghth of
a turn s enough).
The hydraul c brake s a turnable button that must be turned clockw se. The tun ng must be
made n w th precaut on and f neness. Usually, ⅛ of a turn s enough. Do not hes tate to
contact the sh pyard.
If the keel doesn’t reach ts bottom stop, t’s necessary to loosen the brake. To ver fy f the
keel s n bottom stop, look f the ax s of jack s n front of the porthole.
If the keel comes up by f ts and starts, you shouldn’t touch the brake
’
s
sett ng. It’s certa nly necessary to grease the rotat on system of the keel.
Every settings must be made in cold conditions.

Manual manoeuvre of the electrical keel system :
In case of an energy breakdown, you can manually act vate the keel to put t n top or low pos t on.
To do so :
Open the central table n order to have access to the hydraul c central.
Take the arm tube
Put t n the manual pump (see p ct. below)
To get the keel down: cl p the spr ng on the starboard spher cal button n order to ma nta n t f rmly
pushed, and then pump (see p ct. below)
To get the keel up: cl p the spr ng on the ports de spher cal button n order to ma nta n t f rmly
pushed, and then pump (see p ct. below)
Only push one button at the t me. In normal cond t ons, both buttons must be free of the spr ngs.
