Chapter1 Introduction
1Introduction
Thank you for purchasing PCIŅs USB2.0 high speed print serveręMini-
MFPĄBy connecting to the local area network and with the enhanced
printer management tool, this print server is able to provide a great
printing environment. You can easily install and maintain the printers and
Mini-MFP in your LAN. Mini-MFP is able to connect your AIO, All-In-
One/MFP, Multifunctional Peripherals, printers, USB mass storages(hard
drives, flash disks and memory cards) and scanners to the network so that
all network users can share these USB devices. Even more, this print server
can use the NetUSB technology to support host-based printers, such as
printers using CAPT, GDI, and PPA printer languages.
Mini-MFP print server has one Ethernet (10/100Mbps) port and two USB
ports. It supports many operating systems like Windows 2000/XP/2003 and
Unix/Linux, and also supports many network printing protocols like LPR,
IPP, Raw TCP/JetDirect, and SMB/CIFS.
By using the utility of Mini-MFP - Control Center, you can easily install
and setup your network printing environment and enjoy the convenience
of Mini-MFP. The following chapters will introduce the features and
functions of Mini-MFP, and how to setup/configure Mini-MFP in various
environments.

Mini-MFP Installation Method
œNoteĈThis table provides many installation methods for Windows
2000/XP/2003 and Unix-like operating systems. This user manual will
first introduce the utility program and the WEB UI, and the usage for
the print server, the file server, and the scan server. It will then introduce
to you how to install and how to use Mini-MFP on Linux. However,
we recommend you use Windows-based operating systems to get full
functions of Mini-MFP.
