Paddle sports can cause serious injuries or death if appropriate
safety measures are not followed. The user assumes all risks
and accepts all & any responsibility for any damage or injury
that may occur. Patriot shall have no liability whatsoever for
any personal injury, accident or consequential damages.
We recommend that you receive instruction in proper paddling

points to follow for a pleasant and safe experience.
Warning: Not a lifesaving device.
Hypothermia
Hypothermia is a dangerous drop in the body’s core

accidents are very dangerous and can be more so if you are
poorly prepared for the cold water.
Location

surroundings. Be aware of permitted navigation hours,
emergency services and locate the danger zones.
Physical Capacity
Realistically evaluate your physical capacities and
resistance should you have to swim to the shore.
Slippery Hull

Therefore, it is recommended that you wear slip-resistant
shoes and that you remain in the middle of your kayak at
all times.
Do not stand in your kayak
Your kayak may capsize if you stand in it.
Children
Never allow children to kayak without adult supervision.
Coast guard regulations
Always abide by Coast Guard regulations, State and local

SAFETY MEASURES & WARNING

MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
MAINTENANCE
The best way to clean your kayak is with water.
However, with tougher stains, you can use
some soft soap and a non-abrasive plastic
brush.
STORAGE
The easiest way to store your kayak is to sit it
on a flat surface. If your kayak remains
outdoor, you should keep it covered and out of
direct sunlight. Do not leave any straps tightly
clinched around your kayak for long periods,
especially in warm weather. This can distort the
shape of the kayak.
WARNING
You may find an accumulation of water
between the hull and the deck due to paddle
handling, rain or condensation. Patriot Kayaks
are equiped with drain plugs to remove this
accumulation of water.
Make sure the drain plug is closed before
putting the kayak on the water.
TO EMPTY THE WATER FROM YOUR
KAYAK, REMOVE THE DRAIN PLUG
AND PROP UP THE KAYAK VERTICALLY
ON ITS STERN.
