3. Reconnect theshortswitchand check thecontinuityofthe
monitorcircuitand all latchswitches againbyfollowing the
components test procedures.
2.2. Measurementofmicrowaveoutput
7
Theoutputpowerofthemagnetron canbedeterminedbyperforming IECstandard test
procedures. However,duetothecomplexityofIECtestprocedures, itisrecommendedtotestthe
magnetron using thesimplemethod outlinedbelow.
NecessaryEquipment:
*1literbeaker*Glass thermometer/ *Wristwatchor stopwatch
NOTE:
Check thelinevoltageunderload.Low voltagewill lowerthe
magnetron output. Take thetemperaturereadingsand heating time
as accuratelyas possible.
1. Fill thebeakerwithexactlyoneliteroftapwater.Stirthewater
using thethermometerand recordthebeaker'stemperature.
(recordedas T1).
2. Place thebeakeron thecenterofglass cookplate. / Set theoven
forHigh powerand heat itforexactlyoneminute.
3. Stirthewateragainand readthetemperatureofthebeaker.
(recordedas T2).
4. Thenormal temperaturerise at High powerposition foreach
model isas shownintable.

perpendiculartothesurface being measured.
3.2.1. Measurementwiththeouterpanel removed.
Wheneveryou replace themagnetron, measurefor radiation leakagebeforetheouterpanel is
installedand afterall necessarycomponentsarereplacedor adjusted. Special careshouldbe
takeninmeasuring around themagnetron.
3.2.2. Measurements withafullyassembledoven.
Afterall components, including outerpanel arefullyassembled, measurefor radiation leakage
around thedoor periphery, thedoor viewing window, theexhaustopening and airinletopenings.
3.3. Recordkeeping and notification aftermeasurement
1. Afteranyadjustmentorrepairtoamicrowaveoven, aleakage
