1Introduction

1.1. Safety precautions

This is the optional unit specially designed for MA-3000. Before the use, please read

this instruction manual and the instruction manual of MA-3000 carefully.

For the safe use of this product, please observe the following precaution.

In no event shall Nippon Instruments Corporation, Inc. be liable for any direct,

indirect, punitive, incidental, special consequential damages, to property or life,

whatsoever arising out of or connected with the use or misuse of our products.

Indicates that incorrect handling could result immediately in death

or severe injury to the operator.

Warning

Indicates that incorrect handling could result in death or severe

injury to the operator.

Caution

Indicates that incorrect handling could result in moderate or minor

injury to the operator, or damage to property.

Caution

Be sure to disconnect the power plug before handling to avoid

electrical shock.

Treat the glass parts carefully to avoid injuries.

Caution

Do not remove the clamp and joint during the measurement

and leak check to avoid the splash of liquid.

2System Outline

General Description

This unit can be used to reduce the memory effect during the sample measurements of

MA-3000. By humidifying the carrier gas during the heat decomposition, it is possible

to reduce interfering ingredients adhered to the tubing.

Flow Diagram

The water bubbling is carried out only during the heat decomposition (V1 ON) and the

carrier gas is humidified.

3Installation and Connection

Caution

Be sure to disconnect the power plug before handling to avoid

electrical shock.

Treat the glass parts carefully to avoid injuries.

(１) Turn off the power switch of MA-3000 and remove the side right cover.

(２) Remove the “to INLET” tube of the activated carbon on the back side.

(３) Insert the nuts to fix the valve on the

back of the right-side frame. Fix the

valve to the position in the right

diagram.

(４) Remove the V1 connector from the

relay board. Connect it and the new

valve to the board with the

connection cable.

(５) Connect the PTFE tube (removed

from the activated carbon) to the soft

tube going to the T-joint.

(６) Pull out three PTFE tubes of the

humidifying unit from the back side.

(７) Connect the tube going to the valve

COM to the activated carbon.

(８) Place the right-side cover back and

attach the humidifying bottle.

(９) Attach the TOP tube on the above

and the SIDE tube on the side by

using the different diameter joints.

4Preparation

(１) Remove the clamp from the impinger and fill pure or distilled water to 30mL line.

(２) Attach the clamp and check that the joint is not loose.

(３) Turn on MA-3000. Check that there is no leakage during the leak check at the start up.

Caution

Do not remove the clamp and joint during the measurement

and leak check to avoid the splash of liquid.

* When the humidifying unit is attached, the required time for leak check at the start up

becomes longer. The firmware needs to be Ver. 2.4 or newer.

※LEAK CHECK 30sec=> 40sec

The following operation is the same as in MA-3000.
