these Installation and Maintenance Instructions.

General
Product description
The RCU consists of a communications module, a GSM
modem with an antenna (only RCU 10) and a separate
power supply unit with jack for plugging into a wall socket.
The antenna can be placed outside the enclosure.
It is possible to connect to the RCU two independent
switch functions to detect external events such as a move-
ment alarm or freezing protection.
Note that all configuration of the unit requires that a com-
puter with support for ”JAVA-applets” is connected, even
if only text messaging is going to be used.
Only RCU 10
The RCU enables operations to be controlled and moni-
tored using a computer connected to a local network or
via the Internet. The integrated GSM module also enables
control and monitoring by sending text messages from a
mobile phone. For the GSM function to work, the commu-
nications module must be equipped with a valid GSM sub-
scription. This may for example be a cash card or a special
telematics subscription.
If a SIM card is used, it must be configured
so that a PIN code is not used to obtain
connection. This can be done in a mobile
telephone or by the service provider.

Quick start guide
To start the installation of the RCU you need the following:
RCU and the software supplied on CD•
Star head screwdriver to open the RCU and the heat•
pump.
For connection to a local network:
Computer, connected to the same local network that•
the RCU will be connected to
Network cable (not crossover)•
Network settings for your local network. Received•
from your network administrator
For direct connection to the computer:
Computer with network card•
Crossover network cable•
Insert a SIM card if the GSM modem is to be used.
Remember that the pin code must be deactivated
and if it is pay as you go that there are credits on
the card. When the lamp flashes at 3 s intervals it
means that the modem has a connection with the
GSM network.
Connect the RCU unit to the heat pump with the
8-pin connector. See ”Installation” for parts for con-
necting your heat pump to the RCU.
Connect the power adapter to the 4-pin connector.
The RCU is configured via the network connection.
Connect the RCU to a local network or directly to a
computer.
If the RCU is to be connected directly to a
computer a crossover network cable must
be used!

Check the computer’s IP address as follows:
Press ”Start” – ”Run”- type ”cmd” + enter. A dos
window now opens
Type”ipconfig” + enter
The computer’s IP address and Subnet Mask will be
shown
For example IP address: 10.1.0.0
Subnet mask 255.0.0.0
Assign an IP-address if the computer does not have
one.
Connect the power adapter to a wall socket and
check that the LEDs light. “Status” should light
green, “Serial Link” should flash and “Link” must
light orange (100Mbps) or green (10Mbps) if the
network cable is connected.
Turn on the computer and insert the CD supplied
and follow the instructions.
Start the configuration program Netbiter config. The
program automatically searches for RCUs connected
to the network. If the program does not find the
RCU refer to the Troubleshooting section. If Netbiter
is already running and it is started no RCU is found.

Double click on the line with your RCU in the
Netbiter window. A new window opens.
The RCU is connected to a local network:
Enter the network settings that apply to your net-
work. To obtain the necessary information concer-
ning your network settings, please contact your
network administrator.
The RCU is directly connected to the computer:
Enter the first three values from your computer’s IP
address, for example, 10.1.1. The fourth is set to
a value other than the one used in computer’s IP
address.
Example:
If the computer has the IP address 10.1.1.1 then set
the RCU address to 10.1.1.X, where X can be set
to any number between 2 and 254 (not 1, as this is
used by the computer in this example).
Complete setting by giving a valid password and
press ”Set”. The factory-set password is ”admin”.
Write down the password and keep it in a safe pla-
ce. If the password is lost the RCU must be returned
for reprogramming
Wait a moment and then run a new ”scan” in
Netbiter. The RCU should have a new IP address.
Activate the Heat pump for RCU (remember to ac-
tivate the service menu)
- Fighter 360P Activate in menu 9.1.3
- Fighter 11XX Activate in menu 9.2.15

Start the web browser and enter the RCUs IP address in the
address field and press enter. A log in box will now appear.
Both the user name and password are ”admin” (unless it
has been changed). If ”page cannot be viewed” is shown
go to troubleshooting.
Check that it is the correct heat pump on the overview dia-
gram (if you must choose model see troubleshooting)
”Select ”Other” in the settings window. Make settings on
the following pages:
• Module:GivesInformationaboutthelocationofthe
RCU (used in alarms in SMS and e-mail).
• E-mail:Settingsifthealarmistobegivenviae-mail.
• Network:Normallydoesnotneedtobechanged(see
section ”Change IP settings” in event of problems).
• Modem*:SettingsforSMSanddial-upconnectionvia
GSM. Refer to the section ”Modem” for further infor-
mation.
• User:Addandmodifyinformationforusers.Bearin
mind that the cell phone number must be given with
the country code, for example +46xxxxxxxx.
• ModbusTCP:Neednotbechanged.Onlyforusersof
ModbusTCP.

Troubleshooting
Netbiter cannot find the RCU:
• CheckthatonlyoneNetbitercongisrunningonthe
computer.
• Checkthenetworkconnection;thattheRCUiscon-
nected to the network/computer, that the correct type
of network cable is used for the RCU, that the LED
”Link” lights green or orange on the RCU.
• Only for direct connection to computers: Check
that the RCU’s IP address is not the same as the
computer’s IP address. Action: Change the IP address
in the RCU.
• Only for direct connection to computers: Change
the computer’s IP address to 10.200.1.10 with Subnet
mask 255.0.0.0 under TCP/IP settings in the computer.
Restart the RCU.
• Clickon”AdvancedOptions”inNetbiter,Checkoff
in ”Enable internal DHCP”. Press ”scan” in Netbiter. If
the RCU is found it means that DHCP is selected in the
RCU. If the DHCP is not to be used, close the DHCP
with Netbiter. Continue with network settings for the
RCU.
No page is shown when entering the RCU IP address
in the web browser:
• Start”Netbitercong”andchecktheRCUIPaddress.
If you must select the heat pump that you have:
It means that the RCU does not have any contact with the
heat pump.
• CheckthatyouhaveactivatedRCUintheheatpump.
• CheckthattheLED”SerialLink”ontheRCUashesif
any value is changed on the heat pump. If it is not lit
there is no communication between the RCU and the
heat pump. Check the cable and any joins. Restart the
heat pump.
The RCU does not respond to SMS
• ThelampontheGSMmodemashesat3sintervals
when it has a connection with the GSM network. If
the lamp flashes at one second intervals there is no
connection. Check that the SIM card is correctly in-
serted, try moving the antenna to a better location,
check that no PIN code is required to use the subscrip-
tion.
• CheckthesettingsforSMSintheRCU.Refertothe
section “Modem” and ”Users”.
If the RCU is to be connected directly to a
computer a crossover network cable must
be used!

Assembly
Stick the product label securely to the cover. The label can
be placed in any orientation, depending on the location of
the unit.
Open the plastic cover by separating its two halves.
The RCU is placed outside the heat pump and its best loca-
tion is mounted on a wall.
Connect the communication cable in accordance with the
appropriate product description. Then continue with the
instructions under the heading “Final installation”.
FIGHTER 360P
Open the centre front cover. Connect the supplied black
communication cable to the heat pump’s modular connec-
tor (106) on the CPU card (34). Route the communication
cable (105) down to the area at the bottom of the heat
pump. Use the supplied connector to connect the commu-
nication cable from the RCU.
The CPU card in FIGHTER 360P must have version number
2.00 or higher for communications to work.

Connect the black communication cable to the heat
pump’s modular connector (106) located on the CPU card
(34). Use the supplied connector and cable, plugged in the
CPU card’s (34) modular connector first, to position the
connection on the outside.
The CPU card in FIGHTER11XX must have version number
1.03 or higher for communications to work.
