Track assembly
Before beginning the installation please
ensure that the track is the required length.
Refer to Appendix 4 for details.
1 Position th bottom s ction of th track on th
stairs with th splic hol s at th top (Figure 1).
Th flat fac of th track is always position d
against th wall.
2 Bolt in th splic bars to th bottom s ction of
track xtrusion (Figure 2).
Note: Th r ar 2 hol s in th top and bottom
r bat d s ctions of th xtrusion to acc pt th
splic bars
(Figure 2)
. Torqu s tting 8–9Nm.
Note: Ensur that th splic bars ar position d
in th track in th corr ct ori ntation. Th splic
bar has thr flat fac s and on sloping fac .
Th sloping fac MUST b position d against
th sloping fac on th xtrusion
(Figure 3)

3 Position th top s ction of track adjac nt to th
bottom s ction of track (Figure 4).
POWER HINGE TRACK ONLY
• Plug th conn ctors from th top and bottom
s ctions of track tog th r (Figure 5).
MANUAL HINGE TRACK ONLY
• Pl as compl t st ps 6 and 7 b for joining
th two s ctions of track.
• Insulat th bottom conn ctor block with
l ctrical tap and ins rt it into th track.
4 Off r up th adjac nt track s ction.
5 Bolt both s ctions of track tog th r (Figure 6).
Th bolts should b tight n d in s qu nc :

(torqu s tting 8-9Nm).

7 Using th two way conn cting blocks, wir up
th charg contact flying l ads to th plain gr y
cabl from th twin cor gr y cabl using th
two way conn ctor blocks suppli d (Figures 9
and 10).

all fac s l v l so that no st p is pr s nt in th
joint (Figure 7).
Note: All mains wiring must comply with th
standards in forc at th tim of installation.

9 Insulat th two way conn cting block at th
bottom of th stairs with l ctrical installation
tap and car fully ins rt th block into th track
(Figure 15).
10 Fit th nd cap at th bottom of th stairs,
taking car that th nd cap moulding r taining
scr w is not ov r tight n d, and that it avoids
th wiring (Figure 16).
Note: For hing track installations th pow r
supply must b mad at th top of th stairs.

FOR HINGE TRACK INSTALLATIONS
Th low st foot should b fitt d as clos to th
hing as possibl (Figure 18). This may m an that
th foot has to b position d on th s cond ris r.
4 To spac th rail th corr ct distanc from th
nos of th ris rs of th staircas you will n d
two pi c s of 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) wood,
approximat ly 600mm (24”) in l ngth. Plac
th s b tw n th two f t on ach s ction
of th track (Figure 19).
5 Stand th f t on to th stairs, with on foot
on th top tr ad, and on foot on th first
tr ad aft r th hing d s ction.
6 Position th track with th outsid fac
150mm from th string r.
Note: Th pr ssings can b ass mbl d from
th top or bottom of th track.
Note: Th foot must b fitt d with th straight
dg (thr hol sid ) against th wall.
Note: Ensur th track is th corr ct l ngth

• 17mm Spanner
• 17mm Socket
• 300mm screwdriver

obstruct th trav l of th stairlift wh n fitt d.

furth r into th staircas to nsur that th
stairlift cl ars th s obstacl s. H avy duty
units may also n c ssitat th track b ing
position d furth r into th staircas (up to
an additional 50mm).

11 R position th track th appropriat distanc
from th string r and th n fit on scr w from
th foot to th staircas on th first tr ad and
last tr ad only.
Note: A long shaft Pozidriv scr wdriv r will
b r quir d for this op ration (Figure 25).
