MiJET User Guide

Description

MiJET®is designed to clean parts and capture residue with one easy touch,

keeping the work area and surrounding air clean.

The air nozzle is used to blow residue down into the inlet tube, while simul-

taneously creating suction. This will pull chips and lubricant into the contain-

er below.

The captured residue can be recycled ... saving money on expensive lubri-

cants and help to reclaim more chips instead of covering the floor.

Needed

A MiJET unit comes with a 1/4” FNPT

fitting for connecting to an existing shop

air line. A high–flow quick-connect

adaptor can be attached for ease of

use, however, to ensure a sufficient air

supply we recommend connecting into

the main air supply without any re-

strictions, such as a quick connect.

It is also recommended to utilize a 3/8”

diameter air hose from the main line to

supply the MiJET. A smaller diameter,

coiled air line, or a line that is too long

might not provide an optimum air sup-

ply.

Safety Instructions

Please read user guide carefully before

installing.

Disconnect the air supply if the unit is

taken apart for recycling of coolant,

retrieval of parts, or any other mainte-

nance.

Q: The part is blown off and the air nozzle is not in use, but the

motor runs for an extended amount of time.

A: There are Viton O-rings that need to stay lubricated, try adding air

tool oil, refer to the maintenance steps on page 6.

B: Check for air leaks at air nozzle hose connections and air nozzle it-

self. Replace leaking components if needed. Contact us for replace-

ment air gun.

Q: The air motor sounds like it runs slower than when the unit

was brand new.

A: Try adding air tool oil, refer to the maintenance steps on page 6.

Q: The suction is reduced from when the unit was brand new.

A: Try adding air tool oil, refer to the maintenance steps on page 6.

B: Check filter and if oil-soaked or dirty, it is time to replace the filter.

Q: The blow off pressure has decreased while using the air noz-

zle.

A: Ensure all fittings and connections are correct, if so, try connecting the

MiJET to the air supply line without use of any quick-disconnect fitting.

B: Try connecting an airline from the main air supply to the MiJET with a

large enough diameter (3/8”) air hose to supply enough CFM to the

unit.

C: Try removing the blue air nozzle and replace with the operators’

usual air nozzle often creates familiarity with usual process of blow-

ing off parts.

Installing the Air Deector

1. Using a 7/32 Allen key, unscrew

the black screws from each handle,

as seen in Figure 20.

2. Take each screw and handle off of

the unit.

3. Place the air deflector into the

MiJET. Try to line-up the hole

on the air deflector (Figure 21)

with the hole on the MiJET.

4. Insert the screw through the air de-

flector and then through the MiJET.

5. Tighten both screws with the 7/32

Allen key. Hold the black plastic

handle while tightening to ensure

the correct handle orientation of the

T-Handle.

6. Repeat the same procedure for the

second screw on the opposite side.

The final product should look like

the MiJET picture in Figure 22.

In order to opmize the performance of the MiJET Washstaon,

consider the following:

The air hose to the MiJET should be as short as praccal and at least

3/8 inch diameter, (larger is beer).

 Low pressure at the air nozzle can be the result of too small diame-

ter or too long air hoses from main air supply.

 Coiled air hoses from the main air supply to the MiJET are not rec-

ommended.

Low pressure can also be the result of restricve quick connects.

 Having two common hardware store quick connects in line with the

MiJET can reduce the MiJET air nozzle pressure by 30%.

 If quick connects are needed, use high ow quick connect such as

MiJET accessory #13-057 Coupler body, and #13-058 Coupler plug.

See accessory page 15 for further descripon.

5. Reassemble bucket lid adapter with three (3) nuts, taking

care not to over tighten and crush the filter shown in Figure 18.

6. Place the top assembly onto the container.

7. Center it and align the gray plastic ring seen in Figure 18

with the black container lip in Figure 19.

8. Close the two (2) tabs on each side of the bucket to

maintain the seal.

3. Remove three (3) nuts seen in Figure 16 from bucket filter

adapter.

4. Lift up the bucket filter adapter (seen at bottom of picture,

the gray plastic ring) and remove filter seen on the left in Figure

17a. Replace with a new filter, re-assemble as shown, over the

three threaded rods in Figure 17b.

1. Remove MiJET from pallet.

2. Attach the Loc-Line Faucet as shown in Figures 1a and 1b.

3. Add desired amount of aqueous or oil based cleaning

solution to the Dip Container. (Do not use equipment

which causes sparks near any flammable liquid.)

4. Connect shop air hose to the MiJET, location shown in

Figure 2a. See page 6 for air supply recommendations.

6. Hold the part to be cleaned as far as possible into the

opening of the MiJET, see Figure 3.

7. Pull air nozzle trigger

and blow off air starts,

along with suction.



Air can be applied as

long as necessary to

clean coolant and

chips away.

8. Captured coolant can be returned to

machine reservoir as shown in

Figure 4.



5. Air supply should be capable of 35 CFM at 90 PSI and be

filtered.

 MiJET can be installed down the line from an oiler.

Maintenance

Bi-annually or as necessary:

Replace MiJET filter, P/N 13-041, per the following instructions.

1. Disconnect shop air supply and unlatch the two metal

tabs as seen in Figure 14.

2. Remove MiJET top assembly and place upside down as

shown in Figure 15.

1. Disconnect shop air supply.

 For wash stations—also disconnect the quick-connect at the back

of the dip station.

2. Lift up on the handles and

dispose of used cleaning solution

per company policy (Figure 13).

3. Clean out the Dip Container

4. Refill with new liquid.

Maintenance

After 5000 parts cleaned or monthly:

1. To ensure proper performance of

the Wash Station, regular

maintenance is recommended.

Both the fluid filter and the MiJET

filter should be replaced

quarterly, depending on use.

2. A plastic wrench is provided to

untighten the fluid filter casing.

3. Replace cleaning solutions as

needed. ***Slug will build up in

both the Dip Container and the fluid

filter if not properly maintained**

Using the Faucet

1. Utilize the faucet by turning on the valves to allow flow.

Refer to the MiJET Diagram on Page 4 and 5 if necessary.

2. Turn the flow valve to the on

position, valve shown in Figure 5.

3. Next, turn the On/Off valve to

the on position, this is the ball

valve located above the Flow

valee and nearest to the Loc-

Line. See Figure 5.

4. Adjust flow valve to the desired

pressure (Figure 6).

5. Use the parts basket as

needed. The basket can be

submerged into the dip

tank with parts in it and

then moved over the

MiJET for use with the air

nozzle.

 Do not use the air

nozzle to blow air into the

dip container.

Removing MiJET from Table

1. Disconnect airline from

MiJET. Figure 7.

2. Disconnect the quick-

connect on the back of the

Dip Container.

3. Remove the entire Dip

Container by lifting up on

the handles, set aside.

6. Remove both handles, shown

in Figure 9.

4. Use the handles on the Mi-

JET to lift the unit up and

rest the unit on the latch as

shown in Figure 7.

5. Remove bucket from the

Washstation, set aside. Fig-

Removing MiJET from Table

8. With one hand on the top

of the unit and one hand one

the bottom of the unit, twist

to unlatch from the hook.

9. Lower the unit down and

out of the table, shown in

Figure 10.

10. To replace the filter: Turn

the MiJET unit upside

down and insert back into

the table for ease of use

(Figure 11).

11. Follow instructions found

on page 13 to change the

filter.

12. Reassemble after all maintenance is complete.

13. Remember to refill the cleaning solution before connecting

the MiJET up to the shop air. Reconnect airline and continue to

clean parts.
