2. Before rst use
•Removethepackagingandunpackthecoeegrinder.
•Allapplianceshavebeentestedduringproduction
to ensure they work perfectly. Thereof there might
be remains of e.g. coee powder. Clean the housing,
the grinding chamber, the ground coee container
and the lid before first use (see point 5 “Cleaning the
coee grinder”).
•Placethegroundcoeecontainer/lidaswellasthe
coee hopper lid in the correct position. The coee
grinder will not start to operate unless the hopper
lid is attached to the grinding chamber and the
ground coee container is inserted correctly.
•Thegrinderisexclusivelyintendedforcoeebeans.
Make sure that there are no foreign objects or other
foodstus in the appliance.
•Ensurethatthepowersupplyinyourhomecorres-
ponds to that on the model plate on the base of the
appliance.
•Connecttheappliancetoapowersource.
3. Using the coffee grinder
•Ensurethattheapplianceisconnectedtothepower
source.
•Removethehopperlidofthebeancontainerby
lifting it straight up .
•Fillthegrindingchamberwiththedesiredamountof
coee beans (max. 200 g). Only add coee beans to
bean hopper .
ATTENTION: Using unsuitable types of coee may
lead to clogging of the grinder. Do not use freeze-
dried or caramelized coee beans and do not pour
ground coee in the bean container.
•Putthehopperlidbackontothegrinder.
•Thegrindsettingdialallowstheadjustmentofcoarse
setting in several steps. Select the coarseness level
by turning the grind setting dial . The dial should
be readjusted while grinding. NOTE: The coarseness
level ranges from 1(
) the finest setting to
17 ( ) the coarsest setting.
•Turnthecupsettingdialtoselectthenumberof
cups to be brewed. Any amount from 2 to 14
cups can be chosen.
•PresstheON/OFFbuttontostartgrinding. The
ground coee passes the grinder chute and will be
collected in the ground coee container. NOTE:
Avoid filling the ground coee container completely
since this may cause a blockage inside the appliance.
•Thegrinderstopsautomaticallyoncetheselected
amount of ground coee has been produced.
•Ifyouhearahigh-pitchednoise,coeebeansare
stuck in the grinding chamber. Press the ON/OFF
button to turn o the appliance and unplug it
from the power source . Please clean the grinder
as explained in point 5.
•Removethegroundcoeecontainerwhenthe
grinding process is completely finished . To reduce
static build up, tap gently against the ground coee
container. Remove the container lid.
•Yourfreshlyground,aromaticcoeeisnowreadyforuse.
4.Tips for best use
•Forbestavour,storecoeebeansinanairtight
container.
•Onlygrindtherequiredamountofbeansimmediately
before brewing as the flavour and smell of ground
coee changes with exposure to air and through
other food items.
•Pleasecleanthegrinderaftereachuse(seepoint5
"Cleaning the coee grinder").
•Iftheappliancecannotbeswitchedonagainafter
use this is due to a thermal fuse. Please unplug the
appliance and allow it to cool down for 5 minutes.
•Thequantityofgroundcoeeneededdependson
the type of beans, the degree of grinding and the size
of the cups. Coee flavour and strength is a personal
preference. To find your personal preference, vary
the type of coee beans, the amount of coee and
the coarseness setting. We recommend using 6-8 g
of ground coee on a medium grind setting.
•Ifespressoisbrewingtoofastinyourpumpmachine,
lower the grind setting.
Depending on the type of coee and the preferred
preparation method, we recommend the following

5. Cleaning the coffee grinder
ATTENTION: Disconnect the power plug from the
socket outlet prior to cleaning the device .
•Removethegroundcoeecontainerwithlidand
the hopper lid .
•Washthegroundcoeecontainer,itslidandhopper
lid in warm water, rinse, and let it dry completely.
•Useasoftdampclothtocleanthehousing.
•Cleanthegrinderwiththeenclosedbrush.
•Removeanyremainingbeansinthebeancontainer
and turn grind setting dial to 1. Place your fingers
along the ridges at the top of the removable grinding
wheel. Turn the wheel clockwise until it stops. Lift
it up out of the grinding chamber and clean the
grinding disc with the enclosed brush .
•Aftercleaning,placethegrindingwheelbackinthe
chamber. Turn the wheel anti-clockwise until “17”
appears on the grind setting dial .
NOTE: Never immerse the coee grinder base,
cord, plug or grinding wheel in water or any other
liquids. Never put the device or removable parts in the
dishwasher.
6. Notes on disposal
•Applianceslabelledwiththissymbol are subject
to European guidelines for WEEE (Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment).
•Electricappliancesdonotgointhehouseholdbin.
Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally
friendly way using suitable collection systems.
