Before making any connections, make sure that power is turned off from the amplifier.
Audio source can be connected using analog or digital connection. Analog connection can
be made using unbalanced or balanced 1/4" plug jack connector or balanced XLR
connector. Digital connection can be made using digital Toslink cable. Notice that S/PDIF
format must be set to PCM from the audio source.
Optical input signal is looped out from optical output connector. This allows chaining
multiple amplifiers digitally using Toslink cable. Notice that audio connected to line input
cannot be taken out from optical output.
Audio input is selected using the switch on the front panel. Currently used input channel is
saved and selected after turning on the amplifier. Source lights are indicating currently
used input source and they have also alternative function. Line light is blinking if audio
input signal is clipping. If light is blinking, decrease volume from the audio source until the
light is continuously on. Optical light is blinking if data is invalid or compressed audio.
Speakers can be connected using bare speaker wire, speaker wire with banana plugs or
speakon cable. Minimum allowed speaker impedance is 4 . See detailed connection Ω
examples on the page 14-20.
The amplifier is protected against DC, short-circuit, overtemperature and overload due to
too low speaker impedance. Fault condition is indicated with fault and clip lights in the front
panel. Lights are shared with both channels.
Clip lights are blinking in case the audio signal distortion reach 0.01%. If the clip lights are
continuously on, the amplifier’s temperature has reached 125°C. Reduce the volume from
the front panel and let the amplifier to cool down. Lights turns off after the amplifier has
cooled down.
Fault lights turns on in case that the amplifier has overheated (155°C), overloaded or there
is a short-circuit or DC voltage at the speaker output. Wait until the amplifier has cooled
down and check that speaker impedance is not below minimum allowed impedance.
Notice! If speakers with same impedance are connected in parallel, the impedance halves.
Two speakers with 8 impedance can be connected in parallel.Ω
