Satety precautions
Although KS AUDIO professional active speakers represent heavy duty tools for daily use, please refer
to the following information in the operating manual under all circumstances.
Mechanical system / rigging components:
All system components must be inspected for faults before use. This also includes the loudspeaker
and in particular the rigging sockets of the cabinets. Damaged components must be withdrawn from
use immediately as defect devices may harm additional equipment. P LINE always includes
integrated flying system with all rigging components supplied as a standard. Please also refer to load
capacity of all hardware components used in specific installation respectively array set up. Ensure
safe operation and set up of loudspeakers respectively speaker stands. Please secure loudspeaker
stacks with corresponding straps against random action or massive failure entirely.
Power supply (connecting to power amplifiers):
Before connecting your KS AUDIO speaker systems to mains, please check correct input voltage
selected on concerning electronic device. Make sure, Powercon plug remains in locked position in
loudspeaker power input for sure. While voltage supplied via Powercon plug, do not disconnect
under all circumstances! Mains always have to be equipped with protective ground! Also all
electronic devices connected together with signal core must use common protective ground
otherwise massive failure of loudspeaker and/or electric shock may occur.
Hearing protection:
Even at minimum input gain, P LINE is capable of generating sound pressure levels causing
permanent hearing loss or damage. Always wear ear protection in close proximity of the operating
system.
Danger of personal injury:
While running the system, misuse may result in severe injury due to moving and falling parts.
Electrical and magnetic disorder:
Transducers of loudspeaker are well-known for generating a certain magnetic field capable of
destroying credit cards, magnet tapes and so forth. The Speakon Thru socket always is in contact of
dangerous voltage so please consider to avoid moisture at this certain area for safety reasons. Do
not allow water or other fluids to penetrate a loudspeaker system whatever the circumstances are.
Cleaning:
Heavy contamination of electronic components caused by dirt, dust and so forth are dangerous for
electronic devices and may result in short circuits of the system. Please consider, to open,
respectively to clean your equipment as well as the foam of amplifiers and loudspeakers regularly as
a routine.
Dirty loudspeaker front foams may result in audible high frequency loss caused by absorption.

PROLOGUE
Thank you very much for your confidence in our product line-up and purchasing professional KS
AUDIO sound reinforcement tools !
Please read this manual carefully and do not hesitate contacting KS AUDIO headquarter having
further questions depending the utilization of your product !
OVERVIEW
The P Line is the latest line array product to join the KS AUDIO line array portfolio between T LINE
and cost effective C LINE boxes. As a passive box it is powered via the KS AUDIO digitally controlled
amplifiers. A single KS AUDIO power amplifier TA4D (4 x 1000 watts per channel) will interconnect
four P LINE units. The KS AUDIO F MOD digital controller system is added with each power amplifier
and features a variety of FIR Filters, cross-over alignments, high pass filters, limiters, time alignments,
delays, DSP programs with user selectable equalization as well as factory tuned dispersion with auto
equalization characteristic patterns. That allows the user to name the number of vertical units to
achieve optimum splay. The P LINE mechanics are compatible to T LINE, C LINE, CWL and P WK. Each
P LINE is equipped with 2 x 10" (1000W/8ohm) and with 2 x 1" drivers (160W/8ohm) capable of large
signal up to 142db peak.
QUICKSTART
Note: Please check when opening the package, that there is no
obvious damage due to shipment, which could be harmful to
the product or the operator.
P LINE will always be shipped with integrated flyware, connectors and three 8mm locking pins each.
Please check your rigging components on completeness, integrity and mechanical fit.
Caution: never use damaged equipment!
For calculation of splay, directivity and system equalization, EASE FOCUS 2 data sets are available.
Build up designated arrays and connect speaker wires to Speakon input at cabinets’ backside and
also secure these on RIG CP. After checking all mechanical and electrical connections please hoist
the array to right height in safety position with certified straps attached and secured.
Now you can start activating and firing up your P LINE.

P LINE FLIGHT SYSTEM AND ACCESSORIES
P LINE arrays will always be flown as a cradle in conjunction with RIG CP and designated locking pins
D8 supplied within the package. For desired splay and angle of the units use the rigging mechanics
at the cabinets’ backside. Available are the standard angle adjustment version with common splay
links.
To ensure safe operation the following work steps absolutely should be noted!
• Calculate total rigging weight based on the weight
information in this product manual or do your
calculation in EASE FOCUS 2 (recommended).
• The maximum number of P LINE Elements per cradle
is 12. The array then has a total weight of 380kg plus
cables.
• Never use damaged parts. Check your material
before rigging.
• Qualified personnel must carry out the installation of
this product, observing local rules and regulations
regarding suspension and working aloft.
• Use only with rigging frames/accessories specified
by KS AUDIO.
• Visual inspection and approval of the point of
suspension is the responsibility of the installation
personnel.
• All local laws and by-laws must be adhered to when
suspending these products.
• All suspended systems must have a secondary
suspension system installed that is capable of carrying
the total load of the installed system.

MANUAL ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
Your P LINE elements are connected with the ball lock
pins supplied. At the front there are two fixed points,
each at the top and bottom. A third connection on the
rear can be changed in 2.5 degree steps. The illustration
shows the position to be used in each case.
The optimal number and the angle setting depend on the
size of your location and the required sound pressure.
With designated EASE FOCUS 2 data sets, correct array
setup may be calculated, plus right eq setting can be
found as controller preset within KS AUDIO amplification.
Just choose array length/number and curving/splay
between two flanking line array elements and speaker
set-up is finished and ready to go.
ADJUSTMENT WITH GEARDRIVE (optional available)
In addition to the conventional solution with different static fixing points for the ball lock pins, KS
AUDIO developed the geardrive mechanism. The gear unit enables stepless angle adjustment after
assembly, whether flying or stacked. Any commercially available electric/cordless screwdriver with
¼“ bit can be used to define
stepless angles. This allows fine
adjustment for an already
installed array without manual
effort or risk for the operator.
For more Information please
ask your dealer.

CONNECTIONS AND AMPLIFIERS
For correct wiring and controlling please check the corresponding manuals of CA 4D and/or TA 4D
with F MOD controller. Amps and controller are separately available.
KS AUDIO recommends using KS AUDIO SYSTEM AMPS with KS AUDIO SYSTEM LOUDSPEAKERS only!
If not, it may damage parts of equipment.
KS AUDIO recommends employing "balanced input connections”.
KS recommends the use of 4 x 2,52cable for all speaker to amplifier connections for optimal
performance.
Warning – be certain that all speaker cables are wired identically at each end. Two amplifiers being
bridged together can create fatal damage to the drivers. We recommend to not using any other
connectors than original Neutrik® products.
Inputs and outputs can be freely assigned via Controller, so input and output channels may vary
depending on your programming.
