4. Installation of the Unit
Improper levelling may result in cabinet deformation and reduced cooling
performance.
4.1 Choosing the Installation Spot -
The KLC Models are intended for indoor use only.
Performance of these Models is highly influenced by the environmental conditions
in which they are in use. To maximise the performance of the KLC Models the
following is recommended:
The unit is not to be placed near any kind of heat source.
The unit is not to be placed near or inside air streams produced by
ventilation fans, open doors and/or windows.
The unit is not to be situated under a roof mounted ventilation system.
The units should have sufficient space to “breathe”. Always keep at least a
75mm gap around the back, top and sides of the cabinet. (Always use the
rear spacer to ensure minimum clearance).
The unit is not to be placed under direct sunlight.
Keep clear of obstruction all ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure
or in the structure for building-in.
In order to reduce flammability hazards the installation of this appliance
must be carried out by a suitably qualified person.

Version 3.1 _March 2017 Page | 8
The appliance should be located on smooth flat surface during operation.
Check rollers / castors / adjustable feet below the appliance against damages
to ensure stability. Take necessary precautions if tilting is needed during
installation.
Unauthorised persons are not allowed near the appliance until installation is
completed.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Not following the instructions may cause high-energy consumption and poor
performance.
4.2 Preparing the Unit for Operation -
The subsequent steps needs to be followed prior to starting this unit, the set up
time should not take more than 5 minutes.
4.2.1 Installing Rear Spacer -
To ensure proper ventilation, the unit is fitted with a rear spacer that will provide
the appropriate clearance of 75 mm at the back of the unit. The rear spacer is
supplied with the unit and should not be removed.
4.2.2 Levelling the unit -
A spirit level should be used to ensure the unit is levelled in both directions. The

Version 3.1 _March 2017 Page | 9
4.2.3 Connection to the Main Supply -
Connect the appliance to a 220-240 Volt, 50Hz Power Supply on a min 10A fused
and earthed plug. Do not use extension cables or power boards. In the case the
power cord is not long enough, either install a new socket nearby or ask an
authorised electrician to replace the cord with a longer one.
The unit is now ready to operate.
4.3 Tips for proper Operation -
In order to enjoy long and proper operation of the unit, as well as for your safety,
follow these simple tips.
If the cabinet has been excessively tilted during delivery or installation, allow
3 hours in stand in the upright position before operation. This will allow the
compressor lubricant to return to the oil sink.
Never connect the unit in a multiple socket outlet or power board.
Never block the condenser fins and front grid openings (for airflow). Any
products or items placed in a way that blocks airflow will drastically reduce
the performance of the unit.
Do not load beyond load limit indicated inside the appliance.
Avoid repositioning the unit when loaded with products.
Never reposition a Shelf when loaded with products.
Always unplug the unit prior to any cleaning or general maintenance task.
If you observe something unusual (excessive noise, smoke, etc.) unplug the
unit immediately and call the Service Provider.
Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting
process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
This unit contains live components. Service tasks should be carried out by
qualified personnel only.

5. Maintenance of the Unit
This section of the manual includes some simple instructions that will ensure

5.1 Cleaning the unit -
For cleaning the unit’s external plastic parts, use a light solution of soap and water.
