Identifying Status Information
Monitor the touch-panel-display, LED activity and sounder operation to determine status conditions of the
Taktis Fire Control Panel.

Status information of the Taktis Fire Control Panel can include the Fire System Normal condition, Evacuate,
Fire, Alert, Tech Alarm, Security and Fault condition. Status information is reported by LED indicators as well
as by the internal buzzer and the touch-panel-display of the fire control panel.
Fire System Normal
The Fire System Normal condition is visible on the touch-panel-display when there are no active events
reported to the Taktis Fire Control Panel.

LED indicators are in the Fire system Normal condition when the Power on LED is lit and all other LED
indicators are not lit. LED indicators light continuously or flash when the fire control panel reports Evacuate,
Fire, Alert, Tech Alarm, Security or Fault conditions. The internal buzzer sounds when the fire control panel
reports Evacuate, Fire, Alert, Tech Alarm, Security or Fault conditions.
The internal buzzer is silent when the Taktis Fire Control Panel is in the Fire System Normal condition.

Key LED Colour Description
A Fire Red A fire alarm or fire drill condition exists.
The status condition is provided on the
touch-panel-display. The internal buzzer
sounds intermittently.
Output relays are activated.
!LED Flashing: Sounders are activated
!LED Continuous: Sounders are
silenced
!LED OFF: Fire Control Panel and
Sounders are reset
B General Fault Amber The General Fault LED flashes when fault
conditions exist on the fire control panel.
The flashing General Fault LED
accompanies one or more flashing
amber LEDs that indicate specific fault
conditions.
C System Fault Amber A System Fault exists when this LED is
flashing. Status is provided on the
touch-panel-display and the internal
buzzer sounds continuously. A System
Fault occurs when problems exist with
internal circuits of the Taktis Fire Control
Panel.

D Power Fault Amber A fault condition exists on the main or
back up power supplies.
E General
Disablement
Amber Parts of the system have been manually
disabled and are inactive.
F Pre-Alarm
Amber One or more fire detectors are close to
their alarm limits and a fire alarm
condition is imminent.

A Fire Routing On Amber Signals have been sent to remote fire
alarm transmission equipment or a
confirmation signal has been
returned from the remote alarm
signal transmission equipment.
B Fire Routing
Fault / Disabled
Amber Outputs to remote fire alarm
transmission equipment have been
disabled or a fault condition exists in
the transmission path.
C Test Mode On Amber One or more zones have been
selected to Test Mode.
D Delays Active Amber Sounders are delayed during a fire
condition. The Delay Active LED is
flashing and the internal buzzer is
sounding. Press Alarm Silence to
mute and extend the Delay Active
condition. Sounders operate after the
“Delay Active” period if Alarm Silence
is not pressed.

E Sounder
Fault/Disabled
Amber This LED lights continuously when a
sounding device or circuit is disabled
and flashes when there is a fault on
one or more sounders.
F Power On Green Power is being supplied to the
fire control panel.

Performing Commands
Commands are visible on the touch-panel-display when the Taktis Fire Control Panel is reporting fire alarms.
Commands are not visible when the fire control panel is not reporting fire alarms or fault conditions. The Fire
System Normal condition is displayed when the Taktis Fire Control Panel is not reporting fire alarms or fault
conditions.
User Access Levels
User access levels are displayed in the lower-right corner of the touch-panel-display when the fire control
panel is reporting fire alarms. The access levels can include the No User Level and User Level 2.
No User Level
Commands of the No User Level are visible on the touch-panel-display. Menu access to the No User Level is
available when operating the Taktis Fire Control Panel following a power-up condition. Commands of the
No User Level are limited to the Lamp and Buzzer Test, Display Test and Buzzer Silence.
User Level 2
Commands under User Level 2 are visible on the touch-panel-display. Menu access to User Level 2 is
available when the password 222222 is submitted on the Logon window of the Taktis Fire Control Panel.
An optional Access Control Keyswitch can be fitted to the fascia of the fire control panel to provide access to
User Level 2.
Visible commands under User Level 2 authorization include:
!Silence Alarms
!Re-sound Alarm
!Reset System
A delay control button is visible on the touch-panel-display when the Taktis Fire Control Panel is configured with
output delays and these delays are enabled.

Example Fire Condition
A fire condition is reported to the Taktis Fire Control Panel at Zone 12 in the Front Lobby. The internal buzzer
of the fire control panel is sounding and a Fire in Zone window is displayed on the touch-panel-display.
External sounders connected to the fire control panel are activated indicating a fire condition. LED indicators
are illuminated on the fascia to identify a fire condition.

LED indicators for Zone 12, Fire Routing On and Power On are illuminated on the fascia.

Perform a Buzzer Silence, Login, Silence Alarms, Re-sound Alarms, Reset System and a Logout during a
fire condition.
Complete steps 1 and 2 before initiating the Buzzer Silence:
1Determine the cause of the fire alarm.
2Clear the condition from the device causing the alarm.
Buzzer Silence
The Buzzer Silence command silences the internal buzzer of the Taktis Fire Control Panel. No other sounder
outputs are silenced by this command. The Buzzer Silence command can be operated without using the
User Level 2 password.
The User Level 2 password is necessary for operating other control functions of the Taktis Fire Control Panel.
3Press Buzzer Silence on the touch-panel-display to quite the internal buzzer of fire control panel.
The internal buzzer of the fire control panel is silent and the Fire in Zone window is displayed.
LED indicators are lit continuously for Fire Routing On and Power On. The LED indicator for
Zone 12 is flashing.
Menu authorization is shown above in grey as “No User Group”.

4Press the Activate Controls button or change the position of the Access Control Keyswitch on the fascia:

5Type the User Level 2 password 222222 using the numeric-keypad and press Submit on the Login window.
The Zone in Fire window is displayed with controls for Reset System, Logout and Silence Alarm:
Menu authorization is shown above in grey as “User Level 2”.
