2 Compatibility
All Nuage PLS seating systems and components
are compatible and have passed crash tests in
combination with the Sedeo Pro seating system
by Sunrise Medical HCM.

3 Safety
Please note all safety instructions before starting
to use the Nuage seating system.
Warning!
Always follow the instructions with the
warnings! Not following these instructions may
result in physical injury and/or damage to the
seating system or the wheelchair. The text of
this manual includes relevant warnings where
necessary.
3.1 Temperature
If exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged
periods of time, some parts of the seating
system, such as the contour cushion and the
armrests, may become hot. Direct contact with
sensitive skin could subsequently be painful or
cause a rash. Terry cloth covers, which are sold
separately, may be a solution in such situations.
3.2 Moving parts
Warning!
The seating system in combination with a
wheelchair has moving parts. Be careful:
contact with moving parts may result in serious
physical injury or damage to the seating
system or wheelchair.
3.3 General safety guidelines and
instructions
Keizer accepts no liability whatsoever for damage
orinjurycausedbyfailureto(strictly)adhere
to the safety guidelines and/or instructions or
due to carelessness during the use, service and
cleaning of the Nuage seating system. The use of
the Nuage PLS must be supervised.
Warning!
Exposuretore,suchalitmatch,couldset
theseatingsystemonre,whichcanlead
to serious physical injury and damage to the
seating system, if the user is not supervised.
Warning!
Only use the seating system for the intended
purpose as described in this manual. Do not
modify or adjust the seating system in ways not
speciedinthismanual.
To avoid accidents or other problems, it is
very important to pay attention to the safety
instructions as described in the user manual of
the wheelchair on which the seating system will
be used.
Warning!
When using a lifting mat for a transfer, it is
recommended to remove it after the transfer.
Edges, folds, or clips between the user and
contour cushion increase the chance of
pressure ulcers.

4 Product description
Nuage PLS seating systems are individually
adjustable. Thanks to the dynamic support
quality, the seating system ensures high comfort
for people with limited mobility, trunk balance,
and postural control. The softly padded contour
cushion ‘embraces’ the body and adapts perfectly
to the contour of the user’s body, allowing the
body to relax and the user to consume less energy.
The Nuage seating system reduces prolonged
pressure on body parts and is, therefore, important
for your health and comfort.
Nuage PLS seating systems are compatible with
(tilt-in-space)wheelchairsofmanydifferentbrands.

4.2 Positioning, optional system
components
Nuage PLS seating systems offer a number of
adjustment options to optimise the positioning
and support for each individual user.
With the adjustable webbing straps, the seat and

the body contours of the user.
Nuage PLS seating systems also offer the option
of asymmetrical positioning, which can be used
in cases such as pelvic obliquity.

5 Use
Nuage PLS seating systems are intended for use
on tilt-in-space wheelchairs. The tilt makes it
possible to easily change the seating position. It
also reduces prolonged pressure on body parts
and is, therefore, important for your health and
comfort.
5.1 Getting into and out of the seat,
transfer
Make sure to engage the wheelchair brakes
before helping a person get into or out of the
seat. Do not stand on the footplates.
If you have to use a passive patient lift, the
advice is to use the kind where the person can
be positioned into a tilted seating system from
the side. If possible, remove the lifting mat after
the transfer. Make sure there are no folds or other
irregularities between the user and the contour
cushion.
5.2 Reducing the seating system in
size for transportation
The way the Nuage PLS seating system in
combination with the wheelchair can be reduced
in size for transportation depends greatly on the
wheelchair frame it is mounted on. Headrest,
armrests and legrests are usually easily removable.
Check the wheelchair manual for instructions. Fully
removing the seating system and subsequently
reinstalling it is not permitted. This is something
only professionals are allowed to do.
