1HP Server Slide Mount Kit for NEBS 2000

Rack – Installation Instructions

Introduction

This manual provides instructions for installation of the hp Integrity cx2600 server chassis on slides in a

NEBS 2000 rack.

Cabinet Safety Precautions

WARNING Ensure that the rack is level and stable before working on the rack. Be sure the

leveling jacks (feet) extend to the floor and that the full weight of the rack rests

firmly on the floor.

WARNING Ensure that the rack has anti-tip measures in place. Such measures may include

floor-bolting, anti-tip feet, ballast, or a combination of these measures as specified by

the rack manufacturer and applicable codes.

WARNING Be sure that adequate personnel are on hand to support the product(s) during the

installation process. Use of the appropriate lifting device is recommended as an

installation aid.

WARNING Always load the rack from the bottom up. Load the heaviest items in the rack first.

This makes the rack bottom-heavy and helps prevent the rack from becoming

unstable.

WARNING After mounting, extend only one chassis at a time. The rack can become unstable if

more than one chassis in extended.

WARNING Use caution when pressing the slide lock release latches before sliding the chassis

into the rack. Your fingers can be pinched by moving slide parts.

WARNING When extending a chassis, pull the chassis slowly from the rack. Extending the

chassis too quickly can result in damage to the slide rails.

WARNING Do not overload the branch circuit that provides power to the rack. The total rack

load should not exceed 80% of the branch circuit rating.
