Solar operation:

whichmeanstheenergizercanoperatewithoutsunlightorcanbesupplieddirectlybya.
9Vbattery.Thesolarpanelmaynotalwayshaveasufcientlylargeoutput
tofullyrechargearechargeablebattery–especiallyindark,greyandmistymonths(e.g.Octoberto
February).
Fortemperaturesaround0degreescentigradeorbelow,werecommendtheuseofalarge9Valkalinebatteryinstead
ofa12Vrechargeablebattery.
Theenergizerisoperatedprimarilyfromthesolarpanel.Ifthesolarpaneldoesnothavesufcientoutput,
theenergizerswitchesautomaticallytotheconnected9voltbatteryortothe12voltrechargeablebattery.
Rechargeable battery indicator:
Therechargeablebatteryindicator(Fig.5LED2)providesinformationabouttherechargeablebatteryorbatteryvoltage.The
solardisplaylightsupconstantlyingreenwhenthesolarpanelchargingvoltageisgreaterthanthevoltageoftherechargea-
blebattery/battery.Whilstthesolarpanelchargesthe12Vrechargeablebattery,itdoesnotchargethe9voltbattery.
Fence voltage indicator
The6LEDs(LED4-LED9)indicatethefenceoutputvoltagein1000Vsteps.Theindicatorbuildsupfromtheleft.
Forherdingsecuritypurposesatleast3LEDs(3000V)shouldlightupotherwisethevoltageistoolow.
Possible causes:
●Withfence:Markedgrowthatfence,poorinsulators,short-circuitatmetalposts,orfencetoolong
●Withoutfence:Deviceisdefective,seeService
Power economiser:
Attedpowereconomisermatchespowerconsumptiontothestateofthefence.Thismeanslesscurrentconsumptionwith
wellinsulatedfencesandagreatercurrentconsumptionwithpoorlyinsulatedfences(leakagesduetoplantgrowth,etc.).
Argutector display:
The6LEDs(LEDs4to9)indicatefenceinsulationbywayoftheArgutectordisplayin6steps.Thedisplaybuildsupfromthe
right.Ifall6LEDslightup,thefenceinsulationisgoodandlittleenergyisrequiredtomaintainherdingsecurity.Thefewer
thenumberoflitupLEDs,thepoorerthefenceinsulationisduetoleakages(plantgrowth,branchesfallenontothefence
system,short-circuit,poorearthing).Increasedenergyisrequiredtokeepthefenceherding-secure.
Variousmodescanbesetwithpressbutton 1.Thecurrentlysetmodeisdisplayedbypressingthebuttonbriey.All
modescanthenbeselectedonebyonewitheachadditionalbuttonpressing.Themodeselectedlastremainssetafter
exitingthemenu.TheenergizeragainshowsthefencevoltageandArgutectorvaluesafter5seconds.

tainedatthesametimeastheenergizer’senergyrequirementisoptimized.
POWER Regulator:
Theoutputenergycanbesetbetween50%and100%ofmaximumenergywiththePOWERregulator.TheLEDsofthe
fencevoltagedisplayshowthecurrentlysetvalueduringthesetting.Forexample,onelitLEDindicatesanoutputenergy
of50%,3litLEDsanoutputenergyof70%and6litLEDsanoutputenergyof100%.After2secondsthisdisplayisextin-
guishedandthelastoutputenergysetisadopted.
