1. Overview
1.1 General Information
1.1.1 Description
SB-DN-512DMX is a high performance show controller developed by HDL. HDL panels
can control the DMX devices (e.g. Computer lighting, Moving heads) which can receive
DMX1990 signal or NET DMX signal via SB-DN-512DMX.
1.1.2 Mounting
Standard 35mm Din Rail Installation
Inside Distribution Box(DB)
1.2 Function Qualities Description
It has up to 16 areas, Each area can set 0~1024 scene, and the scene’s running time
is up to 60 minutes.
Total is 99 sequences, 4 running modes are available for each sequence: forward,
backward, forward & backward, random.
DMX512 (1990 version).
Support Art Net / HDN Net DMX protocol.
Low threshold, high threshold, maximum threshold are all available for each channel
for different devices.
Each channel has light protection delay time (0~25 seconds).
Each channel has protection delay time for power on after power off (0~60 minutes).
Gateway between HDL Buspro and Ethernet.

5. Software Configuration
5.1 Basic setting
5.1.1 Change the ID of the device
Every HDL Buspro device has one Subnet ID and one Device ID, the Device ID should be
unique in its subnet.
5.1.2 Remark
Generally set it like “for living room”, or “in DB3”(distribution box 3) to indicate some info.
5.1.3 IP and IP MAC
The factory default IP and IP MAC are 192.168.10.250 and M-I-R-255-255-255. To avoid
conflict, you can connect only one at first, modify and save it before you connect another
one and configure.
DMX channel: the start channel of NET DMX signal. The range of HDL-Net is 001~255;
the range of Art-Net is 000~255.
DMX port: the port for HDL-Net / Art-Net; if use Art-Net, this port will be fixed as 6454, no
need to change.

5.2 Area Setup
Below screen shot shows all 512 channels of SB-DN-512DMX are not assigned to any
area, actually there is no area yet.
Suppose according to the wiring, channel1 to 16 are used to control 16 LEDs in area1,
channel 17 to 50 are used to control 33 LEDs in area2. The configuration steps would be
like this:
a) Click “Create area”, area 1 is created, we can find and select it in “Select area”.
b) Select channel 1 to 16 and move them from left block to the right block, click “save”.
c) Click “Create area”, area 2 is created, we can find and select it in “Select area”.
d) Select channel 17 to 50 and move them from left block to right block, click “save”.
e) Exit this “Area setup” window, we can name the two areas, i.e., area1 and area2.
