This book constitutes User’s Handbook of the machine specified below and it is
compiled in accordance with the EEC Directive 2006/42/CE, Attachment 1,
paragraph 1.7.4.and subsequent amendments.
Each single machine is dotated with a CE dataplate and a CE Evidence of
Conformity realized in accordance with the EEC-Directive 2006/42/CE and
subsequent amendments.

HOW TO USEAND PRESERVE THIS USER'S HANDBOOK
SAFETY WARNING
- This User's Handbook intends to be a sound reference and working tool to those
who will use our bioshredder BC 260; it includes some practical guidelines on
how to use the machine according to its design principles and technical
features as well as to move, install, assemble, adjust and use it correctly. Besides
this, Handbook includes a few hints on your personnel's training and suggests
how to service your machine, how to order spare parts easily and avoid a risk of
damages or injury.
- This Handbook has to be considered an integral part of the machine supply
volume and it should be carefully preserved for any future reference during the
machine operating life time.
- This Handbook should be kept in an easily accessible place, near the machine,
to allow the personnel to promptly find and consult it, and should be put in a dry
place, sheltered from the sunlight.
- In case of loss, a copy of this Handbook may be requested from the machine
manufacturer specifying the machine model and Series Number.
- This Handbook reflects the technical engineering level reached at the time of
machine delivery and it has to be considered as corresponding to the state of the
art even if some further revisions are to be applied later for the sake of adaptation
to the latest know-how.
- Green Technik reserves the right to update their products and Handbooks,
without being obliged to retrofit or revise their previously delivered products
and Handbooks.
In order to insure highest working reliability, Green Technik carried out a careful
selection of materials and components to be used for the manufacture of this
bioshredder-chipper. Careful inspection and tests were performed before machine’s
delivery to a customer. The good operation of a machine in the long run depends also
on its correct use as well as on a suitable preventive maintenance carried out in
conformity with the directions given in this Handbook.
All the machine structural components, connecting members and controls have
been designed and manufactured with a high level of safety in order to resist
anomalous stresses, even higher than specified in this Handbook. The high-grade
materials used on the machine are the best assurance for absence of damages,
deteriorations or malfunctions.
However, we would like to remind you the following:
1) NEVER USE OR INTERVENE IN YOUR MACHINE BEFORE HAVING
ATTENTIVELY READ AND COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD THE GUIDELINES IN
THIS HANDBOOK.

While thanking you for your trust in our products, our BIOSHREDDER-CHIPPER
BC-260 in particular, we would remind you that use of this machine is representative
of a life style, where the environment protection is a basic principle and the
recycling practice takes a place of an indiscriminate disposal of waste.
Every day large quantities and many kinds of waste are produced, as kitchen
garbage, trimmings from the garden, packages and mowed lawn. These materials
have to be properly sorted and chipped in order to turn them into precious organic
material.
To get good compost, only suitable materials have to be used, namely:
- waste from the garden, wild plants and infesting weeds;
- cooking waste, cardboard and unprinted paper;
- small and light wooden boxes free from nails;
- leaves, remainders from mowing of the lawn, and trimmings.
Before chipping the trimmings, separate the small branches from the main trunk:
these small branches may be easily put into the upper mouth (SHREDDER), while
the stronger branches have to be inserted into the side mouth (CHIPPER), by slightly
pushing them towards the rotor.
Avoid triturating unsuitable materials as plastics or printed-paper. The triturating
of paper, cardboard and leaves gets easier by wetting them previously.
An excessive humidity of wooden materials and leaves could produce clots in the
ejected material and cause the machine cloggage.
To help the micro-organisms in their decomposition function, alternate the
different kinds of material put into the shredding hopper, e.g. wood and lawn, paper
and trimmings, cooking waste and earth, dry leaves and green branches.
This procedure will allow you to get a homogeneous compound while the
presence of small pieces of branch and wood of different size will allow the compost
to keep aired, without getting mouldy.
The bioshredder-chipper is intended to operate outdoors; obviously, avoid using the
machine and store it in a suitable and sheltered place in case of bad weather
conditions .

hoppers installed on the machine are changed or removed, as well as in case of
non’compliance with the obligations and/or prohibitions specified in this paragraph
and, in general, of any of the rules and provisions set forth in this Handbook.

PROHIBITED CONDITIONS OF USE
Working materials other than specified in this Handbook could arise serious
damages to your machine and risks of injury to the operator. Besides this, it is strictly
prohibited to put into machine materials like: ballast and rock pieces, section irons,
glass, plastic materials, parts of wooden boxes with nails or iron wires left therein,
trunks and/or branches having diameter higher than shown on the transfer attached
close to the month of loading hoppers.
This machine has been designed and manufactured to be utilized on flat
surfaces, compact and level as much as possible; therefore, avoid to work on steep
slopes, friable or damp grounds or however under any condition which could cause
the machine to tilt during the operation or susceptible to be prejudicial to its stability.
Whenever the machine has to be moved, the engine must be compulsorily switched
off or, in case the machine is power supplied, the main cable must be plugged out,
afterwards wait until all the machine moving parts stand still.
The same is when the machine has to be tilted or lifted for cleaning or adjusting
purposes or to release any rotating element which got jammed on the machine.
Furthermore, it is strictly prohibited to open the door placed near the discharge outlet
of the shredder, to visually check for no material inside, until the machine is quite still.
To prevent the operator from getting in touch with any moving element of the
machine, some fixed or movable safety guards have been installed, and the upper
and side loading hoppers are such in length as to avoid hands approaching to the
rotating parts.

PERSONNELTRAINING
GENERAL REMARKS
This machine has been designed and manufactured for amateur and semi-
professional utilization; however, the machine should not be operated by people
aged less than 18 years.
Should the user detect any operation problem, malfunction or however a
condition that might be dangerous for himself or other people, he must immediately
stop the machine by pressing the stop push-button placed beside the engine, and
avoid to carry out any intervention out of his competence, then promptly inform his
director or the Green Technik's service center.
An operator should do his utmost to keep the machine clean and in fully working
condition.
To this purpose, the machine should be carefully cleaned after every working run;
cleaning must be carried out when machine is still and stable and possibly in co-
operation with an assistant.
When for cleaning it is used pressurized air or water, an operator must wear
safety goggles and a safety faceplate and to be sure that nobody stands near the
machine in order to avoid running the risk to affect another person by jets of materials
or dust. To prevent the hammer assembly from oxidizing during long times of
inactivity, we recommend to carefully lubricate its parts with oil or other oxidation
inhibitors.
The use of flammable fluids during the cleaning operations is prohibited.
From time to time check the state of labels and replace them, when required.
Should this be the case, promptly call for a service man, unless the
detected trouble can be directly obviated, or inform the Green Technik Service
Center.
Once the machine cleaning is complete, check for no worn, damaged or
lost parts.

INFORMATION ABOUT POSSIBLE HAZARDS
Special attention should be paid to the serviceability of the power connecting
cable as well as of other perishable parts installed on the machine. Check for no
leakage of oil, fuel or other dangerous substances .
Should this be the case, an operator must absolutely avoid to start the machine
until the problem is resolved.
Furthermore, any loose object that is not integral to the machine (as tools left on
the ground after servicing, personal objects, gasoline can used to fill up the petrol
tank, etc...) must be removed from the machine or its surrounding area.
An operator, his assistant and a maintenance man shall wear the following:
a) Safety goggles and faceplates to protect from splinters; when working in
the presence of a dense dust, wearing suitable masks is recommended.
b) Safety gloves.
c) Ear protectors (sound-proofing ear-plugs).
Besides, they must wear suitable working cloths, free from flying parts, and avoid
to wear jewels (chains or bracelets) or other things which could be pinched in the
machine moving elements; long haired people must wear suitable hair-nets to
prevent entanglement.
Before starting work, check that your machine is standing stable, loading
hoppers are free from material and the ejecting mouth has been adjusted and so
that no person possibly passing near the machine could be hit on.
No safety device or guard must be removed from the machine unless it is
absolutely required for repairing and/or servicing purposes.
Safeties must be immediately replaced as soon as there is a reasons for their
replacement, however, always before starting your machine up.
Every 10 hours of work, check that the locking bolts, loading hoppers, enclosures
and guarding plates are tightened; tighten them promptly, if required.
Never leave your machine running without watching it over; any displacement
must be carried out only when machine is still and after awaiting that all of the
machine rotating parts are quite still.
