KnuckleHeads are tough, molded
fiberglass-reinforced nylon rooftop
supports designed to keep equipment
elevated to extend your roof’s life and
protect your investment. KnuckleHeads
are height-adjustable, can support up to
600 lbs. each, and have undergone more
than 10 years of exposure without showing
signs of weathering or deterioration.
Solar KnuckleHeads are designed to
elevate solar panels to the recommended
height and angle at an optimum
15-degree angle. Angles are adjustable by
placing a molded insert into the head.
Solar KnuckleHeads mechanically fastened
directly to the roof deck, sealed with
GREEN LINK Adhesive/Sealant and framed
with 1 5/8” x 1 5/8” channel provide a
strong, stable installation with exceptional
wind resistance properties.

INSTALLATION GUIDE
STEP 1 LAYOUT AND
PREPARATION
Mark areas where KnuckleHeads
will be positioned. For best results,
clean roof membrane with alcohol to
maximize adhesion of GREEN LINK
Adhesive/Sealant.

STEP 2 AT TACHING
BASE
Apply GREEN LINK Adhesive/Sealant
to Universal Base and press onto
membrane surface. Use mechanical
fasteners to attach base directly to roof
deck.
STEP 3 SEALING BASE
PERIMETER
Once base in pressed into place, apply
GREEN LINK Adhesive/Sealant around
the base perimeter.
STEP 4 INSTALLING
EXTENSION
Slide extensions into base.
STEP 5 INSTALLING
FLASHING BOOT
Slide boot over extension and press
to membrane.
STEP 6 SEALING BOOT
PERIMETER
Follow manufacturer’s instructions
for sealing boot using heat welding
and or GREEN LINK Adhesive/
Sealant.
STEP 7 INSTALLING
HEAD
Mate solar head to extension.
Adjust for height by rotating head.
STEP 8 CHANGING
(OPTIONAL) ANGLE
If other than a 15-degree angle is
desired, position Solar Wedge into
head to either increase or decrease
angle.
STEP 9 INSTALLING
CHANNEL
Fit 1 5/8” x 1 5/8” channel into
heads, in linear and elbow
conguration. Attach channel with
standard bolts.
STEP 10 AT TACHING
PANEL
Mount panels on channel and bolt
into place.
