manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution
when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip

apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged,

All equipment is fully tested before dispatch and carefully designed to
provide you with trouble free use for many years.
We have a policy of supporting products for as long as possible
For a period of one year after the goods have been despatched the
Company will guarantee the goods against any defect developing after
proper use providing such defects arise solely from faulty materials or
workmanship and that the Customer shall return the goods to the
Company’s works or their local dealer.
All non-wear parts are guaranteed for 2 years after despatch and any
defect developing after proper use from faulty materials or workmanship
will be repaired under this warranty providing the Customer returns the
goods to the Company's works or their local dealer.

OVERVIEW
The Glensound NOMAD/LODGE is a high quality audio interface for broadcasters. It
is designed to provide the best possible bi-directional audio across the world’s
mobile phone networks and it includes the telecom standard of HD Voice which
provides a switched telephone circuit with 7kHz audio bandwidth. The mechanical
design of the unit is highly robust making it ideal for portable use by journalists,
reporters, engineers and broadcasters.
The NOMAD is a portable unti and is powered either from batteries (6 x AA cells)
12v DC or USB type C connection.
The LODGE is a 1U 19” rack unit with an internal AC mains power supply.
ANTENNA PLACEMENT
The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation
distance of at least 20 cm from all persons, must not be collocated or operating in
conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter, except in accordance with FCC
multi-transmitter product procedures.
ANTENNAS SUPPLIED
The NOMAD is supplied with a pair of ATN1 stubby aerials.
The LODGE is supplied with a pair of ATN2 T-bar aerials.

PANEL LAYOUT & FUNCTIONS (NOMAD & LODGE)
1. DIAL/HANG-UP Button
When a number has been entered, pressing this button will initiate the call. When held down
for at least 2 seconds it will end the current call. The button is Illuminated red when the call is
in progress.
2. MIC ON/OFF
This red LED button is illuminated when the Mic is live. Operation of the button is
configurable.
3. Menu
Pressing the menu button takes you through the various options please see page 12.
4. Nano Sim Card Slot
This is the Sim card slot. WARNING you must make sure you are inserting the sim in
the correct orientation; this is with the connections facing up. Any damage caused by
the incorrect insertion of sim will result in a chargeable repair.
5. Back up
This is the back button to exit from the menu screen or backspace the typed number.
6. Encoder Pot – Headphone, Mic Gain and Menu
This volume pot adjusts the audio level of both the headphone amplifiers. Turning it
clockwise increases the volume and turning it anti-clockwise decreases the volume.
The mic gain adjustment can also be carried out by pressing and holding the control knob in
whilst rotating this will bring up a PPM Meter on the display, aim to set your gain level at 0.
You can also use this to navigate the menus.

A. Power External DC
This is a 2-pin barrel type DC input connector. The centre pin is 2.5mm. It is wired centre pin
+ Volts. It is designed to accept a + volt DC input between 10 and 15 volts.
B. Power Switch
This is used to switch the power. Allows for easy transportation with batteries installed, and
power cycling
C. USB C
Allows use of USB power bricks to power the NOMAD
D. Line Out
This balanced analogue output provides an output from the NOMAD to connect to other
audio equipment such as mixers, recorders, headphone amps etc. The audio that is present
on the output can be altered in the configuration menu.
E. 6.35mm Professional Headphone Jack Socket
Connect headphones here. This headphone outputs are suitable for professional high
impedance (100 – 1000 Ohm). Using lower impedance domestic headphones will reduce
battery life and potentially produce high audio levels in the headphones.
F. Input XLR Balanced Audio Input
