①Check the power supply from the vehicle battery
Using a multi-meter, please check condition of the vehicle battery first. Recharge or replace
the battery as necessary.

Please check for power supply from the vehicle side Data Link Connector (mostly located under
left side of the dash.) Turn the Ignition ON and check for voltage at Pin #4 or #5 (Ground) and
#16 (Battery positive) by using the multi-meter.
If power supply from the vehicle battery seems flawless, go to step 2 to continue diagnosis.
*Note: Some vehicles do not provide power through the DLC. G-scan3 may require an external power supply other than
just the main DLC cable, G-Scan3 can receive power by additionally connecting the Cigar Lighter cable.

Please connect the main DLC cable and check for firm connections.
Check if the LED illuminates RED color on the top right corner.
If G-scan3 is still unable to receive power, please go to step 2.

③Check power supply through the external power source
Check to see if power comes on by connecting the external power source such as AC/DC
power adapter and Cigar Lighter cable.
If power comes on after connecting the external power source, the main DLC cable is
suspected to be defective. Please replace the main DLC cable.
If power does not come on after connecting the external power source, please go to step 4.

④Check the Power Supply Voltage
If Cigar Lighter cable, and AC/DC adapter’s voltage falls within 9 ~30V range,
proceed to the step 5.
If Cigar Lighter cable, and AC/DC Adapter’s voltage does not fall between 9 ~30V range,
external power source is defective.
Please replace the AC/DC adapter, or Cigar Lighter cable as necessary.
→ If Cigar Lighter cable, and AC/DC Adapter’s voltage is normal, go back to step 2. Rechargeable
battery.

⑤Check the LED Illumination
G-scan3 has 2 color LEDs
When the system charges normally, the LED illuminates Red,
And when it is fully charged the LED illuminates Green.
If power supply from the AC/DC adapter is normal but G-scan3 cannot be turned on, go to chapter 2.
If charging circuit is abnormal, G-scan3 will not be turned on and its LED indicator will not be
illuminated although external power supply is connected.
