2.2. The Power Supply
An AC power adapter is required to connect to a wall outlet. Be sure only to use an adapter with
the appropriate AC voltage rating to prevent component damage. A DC 12V 1.5A (2A for Wi-Fi
Version) switching power is generally used to power the Control Panel.
Rechargeable Battery
zIn addition to the adapter, there is a rechargeable battery inside the Control Panel, which
serves as a back up in case of a power failure.
zWhen CTC-1745 connects to the Internet via wired connection, the battery used is a Ni-MH
780 mAH 7.2V rechargeable battery.
zDuring normal operation, the AC power adapter is used to supply power to the Control
Panel and at the same time recharge the battery.
zWhen the battery is fully charged, it can provide back-up power for a period of about 10
hours. It takes approximately 48 hours to fully charge the battery.
