Product Description
All FEX-311F and 312F products feature the same FEX-300F chassis with one (1) or two (2)
CAT16 LTE modules pre-installed, as highlighted below.
Model Modem
FEX-311F FEX-300F chassis with one (1) CAT16 LTE module pre-installed.
FEX-312F FEX-300F chassis with two (2) CAT16 LTE modules pre-installed.
Notes:
• CAT16 LTE modules (downlink: maximum 1 Gbps; uplink: maximum 150 Mbps)
• FEX-311F and 312F only support MicroSIM (3FF) SIM cards, which are not
included. You must purchase your own SIM cards.

LED Behavior and Description
SFP • Green Steady: 1 G network connected.
• Green Flashing: 1 G network activity.
• OFF: No network connection.
WAN/LAN LEDs • Green Steady: 1 G network connected.
• Green Flashing: 1 G network activity.
• Amber Steady: 100 M network connected.
• Amber Flashing: 100 M network activity.
• O: No network connection.
Bluetooth LED • Green Steady: The Bluetooth conguration window is open.
(See Bluetooth Button below)
• Blue Flashing: Bluetooth conguration is in progress.
• Blue Steady: Bluetooth conguration is completed. The LED
turns o in 5 seconds.
• O: No Bluetooth conguration is allowed.
LED Behavior
Button Operating Instructions
Reset/Default Button • Press and hold for less than 5 seconds: Reset/Reboot the
device.
• Press and hold for more than 5 seconds: Restore the
device to its factory default settings.
Bluetooth Button • Press and hold for less than ve (5) seconds: Ignored.
• Press and hold for more than ve (5) seconds: Opens a
window (period of time) for Bluetooth conguration, and
turns on the Bluetooth LED. Note: The“window” closes
if no Bluetooth conguration activity occurs within 30
seconds. Re-pressing the button has no eect while
Bluetooth conguration is in progress or if it is completed
within ve (5) minutes.

LED Description
Power • Green Steady—System has booted up, and is working
properly.
• Green Flashing—System is booting up.
• Amber—System is in error state.
• OFF—System is powered o.
LTE Mode • Green—System is running in LTE mode.
Management • Blue Steady—System is managed by FortiGate or
FortiExtender Cloud.
• Blue Flashing—System is connecting to a managing device.
• OFF—System is running in stand-alone mode.
FortiSASE/LAN
Extension
• Blue Steady—System is connected to FortiSASE/LAN
Extension.
• Blue Flashing—System is connecting to FortiSASE/LAN
Extension.
• Blue Rapidly Flashing—Error in connecting to FortiSASE/LAN
Extension.
• OFF—System is not connected to FortiSASE/LAN Extension.
Bluetooth • Green—Bluetooth conguration window is open upon
pressing the Bluetooth button. It closes in 30 seconds if no
conguration occurs.
• Blue Flashing—Bluetooth congurartion is in progress.
• Blue Steady—Bluetooth conguration is completed. The LED
turns o in 5 seconds.
• OFF—No Bluetooth conguration is allowed.

LTE LEDs Description
LTE • Green Steady—The modem is connected to the wireless
carrier and working properly.
• Green Flashing—The modem is booting up and connecting
to the wireless carrier.
• Green Rapid Flashing—The modem is detected, but is
experiencing some SIM or rmware error.
• OFF—The modem is not detected.
LTE Signal Strength

• 1 On—< 25%.
• 1 & 2 On—25% - 50%.
• 1, 2 & 3 On—50% - 75%.
• 1, 2, 3, & 4 On—> 75%.
Note: The above decriptions apply to both Modem 1 and Modem 2. Modem 2 applies to FEX
312F only.
