Steps for charging a vehicle battery
1. Remove the battery from the vehicle to prevent any damage to the alternator and first
connect the red (+) and then black (-) cable to the battery’s positive (+) and negative (-) poles
by means of the clamps.
2. In case the battery is mounted in the vehicle and connected, connect the red (+) and black (-)
cable of the charger to the positive (+) and negative (-) pole of the battery by means of the
clamps. At all times first connect the red clamp and then the black clamp. PAY ATTENTION!
Some vehicles are equipped with a positive grounded battery, in this case first connect the
black clamp to the battery and then the red clamp to the chassis. WARNING! Refer to the
vehicle’s manual for properly connecting the battery charger to the battery/vehicle.
3. When the battery is connected to the battery charger, connect the charger to the power
supply (230V/50Hz). The charger automatically detects the voltage of the battery (6V/12V)
and the display is green. If the poles are connected to wrong, symbol F appears on the
display, remove the charger from the power supply first, then connect the cables correctly
and wait 3 minutes before the battery charger reconnect the power supply. Warning! During
charging the battery explosive gases are generated, make sure that there are no sparks
and/or open flame near the battery and make sure the environment is well-ventilated.
4. Press the MODE button to select the charging mode, 2A, 10A or Winter mode. WARNING!
Never use the battery charger to charge a frozen battery.
5. The charging status of the battery is shown on the display, when the battery is fully charged,
the display lights up blue.
6. When the battery is fully charged, remove the battery charger from the power supply. Then
disconnect the black cable first and then remove the red cable. PAY ATTENTION! In case of a
positive grounded battery, first disconnect the red cable and then the black cable.
Measuring the battery for 12V batteries
Connect the charger to the battery by connecting the red cable to the plus (+) and the black cable to
the minus (-) of the battery. The display shows the voltage of battery and symbol H gives the the
percentage of the battery, each increment is equal to 25%.
5. Maintenance
1. Make sure that the ventilation slots and enclosure are at all times free from dust and dirt,
check this before using the device. Wipe the device clean regularly with a slightly moist cloth
or blow it clean with low pressure compressed air.
2. Clean the device after each use, use a slightly moist cloth with mild soap. Warning! Never
use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents, these can affect the plastic parts of the device.
Make sure that no water gets into the device, this increases the risk of electric shock.
3. Store the battery charger only in a dry moisture free place. When there is corrosion on the
terminals, this needs to be removed before using the device.
