All Region Code
DVD discs are restricted with a region
code that means that they can only be
used in a specific part of the world.
This DVD Player has region code 0 - ALL
Regions, which means it can play a disc
from anywhere in the world.

Contents
If your TV is not HD then pressing the HDMI
button will NOT show any picture on your screen.
If your LCD TV provides up to 1080 (HD ready)
then the TV screen will NOT show a picture in
1080 mode.
Press the HDMI button again to select a lower
HDMI resolution such as 480/576P, 720P or 1080i.

Insert Batteries
1. Insert the batteries supplied into
your remote control - ensure that the
positive (+) and negative (-) symbols
on the batteries match the symbols
inside the remote control unit.
Remove all packaging and place
your DVD player in a location where
there is good ventilation and do not
cover or place anything on top of
your DVD player.
Getting Up and Running
1. Connect your DVD to your television
using the video cable. If you are
using the component cable, match
the colours on the cable to the
colours of the sockets on your
television and DVD player.
2. Plug your DVD player into a suitable
wall socket.
3. Switch on your television and press
the POWER button on your DVD
player. When switched on, the
screen of the DVD player will read
no disc.

Battery Disposal
Always dispose of batteries at a
suitable recycling center.

4. To find the correct input channel for
your DVD player, use your television
remote. Try pressing the AV button
if there is one, otherwise consult the
user guide for your television. With
the DVD player on, the screen will
look like this.
5. To watch your first DVD press the
OPEN/CLOSE button on the
remote control and put in a DVD.
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button
again - your DVD will automatically
start to play. You can also play CD’s
through your new DVD player.

Which video cables should you use?
The table below is designed to help you choose the best video option available for
your TV. Please note that unless you are using a HDMI you will still have to use the
red and white sound cables supplied, (audio L and R) to send sound to your TV.

Better Analog Component Video - Splits video information into three

Good Analog S-Video - This connection is commonly found on many high
quality analog and digital AV components such as VCR’s,
televisions, and video game systems. This type of connection
breaks the video signal into two parts, one for colour, the
other for brightness.
Fair Analog Composite or RCA Video - This video cable (yellow) is
attached to the left and right sound cables (white and red).

4) Everyday Use
Skip to a Different Section
Use the PREVIOUS and NEXT
buttons to skip backwards and forwards
through the chapters and titles on your
disc. Each press of the button will skip
forward one chapter.
Fast Forward/Rewind
There are four fast forward and rewind
options available. To begin fast
forwarding press the button, to begin
rewinding press the button.
The available speeds are x2, x4, x8 and
x20. To return to normal playback speed
press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
Resume Playback
If the playback has been stopped or
interrupted for any reason, the RESUME
button will start normal playback as
before.
Return to Menu
While watching a DVD, press RETURN
to take you back to the main menu of the
DVD.
Put the DVD Player in Standby
To put the DVD player in standby mode,
press the power button. Press again
to wake up the DVD player. STANDBY
puts the DVD player in low power mode
but does not turn the power off
completely.
Play a Disc
1. Ensure the power switch on the
front of the DVD player is ON.
2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button
on the remote, or front of the
DVD player to open the disc tray.
3. Insert the disc into the DVD player
with the label facing up.
4. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button
again to close the disc tray.
Most discs will play automatically when
they are put into the DVD player. If a
disc has stopped or did not start
automatically, use the PLAY/PAUSE
button on the remote control or
press the PLAY button on the front
of the DVD player to start playback.
Pause a DVD
To pause during playback, press the
PLAY/PAUSE button.
Stop a DVD
Press the STOP button to
interrupt playback. If you press the
PLAY/PAUSE button it will
resume from where the disc was
stopped.
Press the STOP button again to clear
the memory, the disc will now start
from the title menu when you press the
PLAY/PAUSE button.

4) Everyday Use
Display Screen Information
Press DISPLAY to show the on screen
information display for your DVD
including title, chapter and run time.
Press again to reveal sound, subtitle
and angle information. Continue
pressing to turn off the on screen
display.
Mute the Sound
Press the MUTE button to turn off the
sound from your DVD player. Press
MUTE again to turn the sound back
on.
Accessing the Title Menu
The TITLE button accesses the title
menu of your DVD where available.
Accessing the Main Menu
Press the MENU button to return to
the main menu of the current DVD.
Showing Subtitles
If the subtitles are available on your
DVD they can be switched on with the
SUBTITLE button. Press the button
repeatedly to cycle through the available
subtitle options, or to turn the subtitles
off again.
Playing Chapters at Random
Random will select chapters at random
from your DVD disc and play them. To
start random play, press the RANDOM
button. To stop random play, press the
button again.
