1 GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. During use, maintain control of the tool. The operators represent the most important
aspect of safety. Working cautiously and carefully is the best protection against the risk of
injury.
2. The pneumatic tool should not be used and repaired by someone under the influence of
drugs or alcohol.
3. When a fault / defect is detected, immediately disconnect the power supply cord from the
tool.
4. Only transport the pneumatic tool by holding the handle and without pressing the start
lever. Always disconnect the compressed air supply hose before transport.
1.1 Risks Associated with the Work Area
1. Keep unqualified people, children, etc. away from the work environment and the pneumatic
tool.
2. Only use the tool with proper lighting and visibility.
3. Pay attention in unknown environments and work areas. The pneumatic tool is not isolated
from the power supply.
4. Be especially careful to avoid contact with dust, air jets or other pollutants. If necessary,
wear a dust mask.
5. It is important to maintain a stable and secure position while working. Beware of air hoses,
which can cause you to trip and fall.
1.2 Risks Associated with the Presence of Rotating and/or Moving
Parts
Grab the pneumatic tool correctly, using the appropriate "torch" handle.
Never touch the rotating parts of the tool, particularly the wheel and the wheel holder
spindle.
Vibrations, repetitive movements and uncomfortable positions may be harmful to your arms
and hands. Discontinue use of the grinder if you experience symptoms of physical discomfort,
tingling and pain.
While working, do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that could get caught in the moving
parts of the tool. Similarly, put hair back in a net or a cap.

2 DESCRIPTION OF THE GRINDER AND INTENDED
USE
The Grinder is a portable pneumatic tool, to be used for grinding, finishing and chamfering of
small surfaces. Replacing the abrasive tools (grinding wheels) it is possible to grind or polish
different materials, such as metals, wood and plastic.
The grinder Art. 0413 is composed of (see Figure 1):
1) the "torch" shaped shell, which contains the vane rotor and other moving parts;
2) the spindle for mounting the wheel;
3) the start lever of the grinder.

2.2 Pictograms
Attached to each machine there is an obligation pictogram:
CAREFULLY READ THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL BEFORE USING THE
TOOL!

2.3 Identification plate
There is an identification plate on each machine, which shows the following data:
The name and address of the manufacturer;
Model/serial number;
Year of construction;
Maximum working pressure;
nominal rotation speed.

3 IMPROPER USES AND PRECAUTIONS
IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN !!
To allow the tool to be used by untrained personnel and those who have not read the
instruction manual;
To use the tool for different purposes and uses other than those for which it was
designed, i.e. grinding, smoothing, polishing and buffing;
To use the tool in humid conditions, explosive atmospheres or near flammable surfaces
or gases;
To use the tool without wearing appropriate PPE, such as footwear, gloves, hearing
protectors and goggles;
To touch rotating parts during operation;
To use the tool in the presence of children;
To leave the compressed air supply hose inserted after work or while changing the
grinding wheel;
To point the grinder in the direction of people or animals;
To block or insert objects into the air outlet grille;
To modify and/or tamper with the tool;
To use pneumatic power supplies other than as prescribed;
To place the tool in contact with electrically active objects;
To use the tool when disassembled;
To use grinding wheels and/or brushes that are not designed for the tool's rotational
speed.
To use rotary blades or knives.

4 COMMISSIONING
1. Remove the air inlet cap, then screw the supplied nozzle into the hole: 1/4" NPT Male
Quick-Release Coupling
2. Put a few drops of lubricating oil (without resin acid) in the air inlet nozzle.
3. Check the flexible air supply hose.
If it is damaged, broken, torn or deformed it must not be connected to the tool.
4. Check the state of the quick couplings (both on the tool and on the hose). If signs of
damage are detected, it is broken or excessively corroded, the tool or the flexible hose
cannot be used.
5. The tool must be connected to the air supply source by means of an FRL air conditioning
group, consisting of a filter, pressure regulator and lubricator, as shown in Figure 4.
The compressed air used must be clean and with the right mix of oil. Adjust the lubricator
in such a way that it applies 3 to 6 drops of oil per minute. Furthermore, the maximum
length of the hose between the lubricator and the tool must be a maximum of 6/8 meters.
Figure 4 – Connecting the air supply
6. Insert the quick coupling of the supply hose into the air inlet nozzle at the bottom of the
grinder handle.
Air Pressure
To ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations, the operating pressure of
the compressed air must not exceed 600 kPa (6 bars).
Higher pressures may cause damage and excessive wear of the tool.
Information for the working pressure is displayed on the tool's CE plate and in the
instructions.
Crushing and Cutting
When connecting the air supply hose to the tool, while attaching the quick coupling, do not
hold down the grinder's start lever..

5 HOW TO USE
5.1 Attaching the Abrasive Tools (wheels)
Crushing and Cutting
Before attaching and/or removing the grinding wheels, always remove the air supply hose.
Protective gloves
Before atta
ching and/or removing the grinding wheels, wear suitable protective gloves.
1. Choose the grinding wheel with the desired shape and size.
2. Insert the tool chuck on the grinder shaft.
Choice of Chuck
Choose a tool chuck which has a central hole equal to t
hat on the tool shaft. For example, if
you want to use a grinding wheel with a 6mm shaft, choose a chuck with a central hole of 6
mm.
3. Screw the spindle onto the grinder shaft, but do not tighten completely.
4. Insert the grinding tool into the spindle, inserting the shaft into the tool chuck by at least
10mm.
5. Using the keys supplied, strongly and securely tighten the spindle.
Crushing and Cutting
Always be sure to insert the shaft of the grinding wheel into the hole of the tool chuck
by at least 10mm.
Always make sure that the tool is assembled correctly while trying to manually remove
it from the grinder.
If it is too short or incorrectly tightened, the grinding wheel may suddenly release and
may hit the operator in the face or chest.
Assembling the Grinding Wheel
Always check that the grinding wheel is compatible with the pneumatic tool.
Check that the wheel is in good condition, i.e. no cracks and not completely worn out, before
operating.
Make sure the grinding wheel is fully inserted and locked into the tool chuck.
