• Disconnect the power supply before carrying out any installation or maintenance work on this
thermostat and associated components.
• Do not switch on the power supply before the installation work is completed.
• Improper installation can cause personal injury and property damage.
• Do not operate a defect thermostat.
2. Installation Instructions
• Mount the thermostat on a DIN-rail. Install the thermostat in accordance with gures 1 and 2.
• A residual circuit breaker must be used in accordance with the local installation regulations.
3. Operation
• Set the temperature limits by rotating the adjustment wheels with a screwdriver, gure 3.
3.2 Frost protection of outdoor areas, gure 4
• Use two sensors for frost protection of outdoor areas.
• Connect the sensor which measures air temperature to the Sensor 1 connectors. Mount the sensor
inside a suitable enclosure (e.g. AP9) so that it is protected from direct sunlight.
• Remove the resistor from the Sensor 2 connectors. Connect a sensor which measures the ground
temperature to these connectors. Mount the sensor in a protective tube between the heating cables.
Note! Make sure, that there is not water in the protective tube.
• Set the temperature limits for the SENSOR 1 with the left-hand adjustment wheels and for SENSOR 2
with the right-hand adjustment wheels. Adjust the upper limits with the adjustment wheels HIGH and
the lower limits with the adjustment wheels LOW.
• The heating is switched on when the temperature of both sensors is between the min and max set
values.
• The suitable temperature limits depend on the application.
• Please use the following values as a starting point for frost protection of outdoor areas:
Air sensor:
Sensor 1 HIGH: +5 °C
Sensor 1 LOW: -30 °C
Ground sensor:
Sensor 2 HIGH: +2 °C
Sensor 2 LOW: -15 °C
