A Caution!
The max. permissible fluid
temperature is 35 °C. Pumping
liquids containing abrasives (such
as sand) reduces the service life of
the pump.
4.1 Specified conditions of use
This pump must not be used to
supply drinking water or for pumping
foodstuff.
Explosive, flammable, aggressive
fluids or substances detrimental to
health and sewage must not be
pumped.
This pump is not suitable for
commercial or industrial applications.
Any other use is not as specified.
Use not as specified, alteration
of the machine or use of parts
that are not approved by the
equipment manufac-turer, can cause
unforeseeable damage!

before operating. Pay special
attention to the safety information.
These instructions are intended f
or persons having a basic
technical knowledge in the
handling of machines such as
the one described here. If you
have no expe-rience with this
type of pump you are strongly
advised to seek compe-tent advise
and guidance from an experienced
person before operat-ing this
pump.
Keep all documents supplied with

This equipment can be used by
children of 8 years and older and by
people with limited physical, sensory
or mental capacities or those with no
experience and knowledge if they are
supervised or have re-ceived
instruction in how to use the
equipment safely and understand the
dangers which result from such use.
Children are not allowed to play with
the equipment. Unless supervised,
children are not allowed to clean the
equipment and carry out user-level
maintenance work.
The pump must not be used when
people are in the water;
When used in swimming pools and
gar-den ponds and their range of
protection, the regulations

The following residual risks do
principally exist when operating
submersible pumps and can not
be fully eliminated –even by
employing safety devices.
A Hazard by ambient
conditions!
Do not use the pump in hazardous
loca-tions or near inflammable
liquids and gases!
B Danger! Risk of electric
shock!
Do not touch the plug with wet
hands! To unplug always pull at the
plug, not the power cable.
Connect only to an earthed outlet
that is properly installed, earthed
and tested. Mains voltage and fuse
protection must correspond to those
stated in the "Technical
Specications".
Do not buckle, squeeze,
drag or drive over power
cable and extension cables;
protect from sharp edges.
Place extension cable so
that it can not get into the
fluid to be pumped.
Always unplug before
servicing the pump.
A Danger by pump failings!
Before each use check the
pump, espe-cially the power
cable and plug for possi-ble
damage. Risk of fatal electric
shock!
A damaged pump must be
workmanlike repaired before
it can be used again.
Do not attempt to repair the
pump your-self! When
repaired inexpertly there is a
hazard of fluid entering the
electrical parts of the pump.
-The water may be
contaminated by escaping
lubricating oil/lubricant.
5.1Discharge hose connection
x Attach discharge hose to the
discharge port (3).
5. Prior to Operation
3
EN
5.2 Installation
x Space required approx.
30 cm x 30 cm.
x The pump must not be
submerged deeper into water
then stated in the "Technical
Specifications".
x Place pump so that the suction
inlet can not be blocked by foreign
objects (stand on a base, if
necessary).
x Ensure sufficient upright stability.
A Caution!
Do not lift pump at the cable or
discharge hose; both are not
designed for the tensile load by
the weight of the pump.
1. Submerge pump at an
angle to avoid an air cushion
at the under-side, which
would prevent priming. Once
the pump is submerged, it can
be set into an upright position.
2. Lower pump to the bottom of
the fluid container.
A Caution!
When pumping contaminated
fluids install a suction strainer
to pro-tect pump from sand and
dirt.
- Only connect the pump to a
power outlet with protective
contact.
- Before connecting the pump to
the mains
- The pump must be supplied
through a residual current device
(RCD) having a rated residual
operating current not exceeding 30
mA.
- If the device is not being used,
when being transported and before
maintenance, remove the power
cord from the socket to avoid
uncontrolled start of the device -
When connecting the pump, make
sure that the mains voltage
complies with the voltage stated on
the pump nameplate.
- Before each use, check if the
supply cord or plug is damaged. If
the supply cord or plug is damaged,
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order
to avoid a hazard. x To start the submersible pump
plug power cable in.
x Unplug to stop the pump.
Use a strong rope, fastened to the
cable eye, to lower the pump.
The pump can also be operated
when suspended by a rope.
6.1 Switching ON and OFF
x The submersible pump will start
pumping as soon as it is being
con-nected to the mains.
x The submersible pump is
switched OFF by unplugging.
A Caution!
To avoid the pump running dry,
unplug before air is being
primed.
6.2 Pump characteristic curve
The pump characteristic curve
shows which pump capacity is
possible in dependance on the
delivery head.
6. Operation

7.1 Periodic maintenance
For the pump to function perfectly
at any time periodic maintenance
is required. This also applies if
the pump is used under heavy
conditions, but does not run for
extended periods of time (e.g.
when used in well drains):
Yearly service
1. Check pump casing and
cables for damage.
2. Rinse pump with clear
water. Remove persistant
soiling, e.g. algae desposits,
with brush and dishwashing
liquid.
3. To flush the inside of the
pump, place it into a
container filled with clear
water and switch ON briefly.
7.2 Pump storage
A Caution!
Frost damages the pump and
accessories, as both always
contain water!
x When there is danger of
freezing remove pump and
accessories and store at a
frost-proof location.
A Danger!
Prior to all servicing:
Switch Off.
Unplug.
8.1 Fault finding
Pump does not run:
x No mains voltage.
Check cables, plug, outlet
and mains use.
x Mains voltage too low.
Use only extension cables
with sufficient lead cross section
(see "Technical Specifications").
x Motor overheated, motor
protection................
Remove cause for
overheating (fluid pumped too
hot? Pump blocked by foreign
objects?)
After cooling off the pump will
switch ON again.
Motor hums but does not start:
x Pump blocked by foreign object.
Clean pump.
Pump does not pump properly:
x Delivery head too high.
Observe max. delivery head
(see "Technical Specifications").
x Discharge hose kinked.
Straighten discharge hose.
x Discharge hose leaky.
Seal discharge hose, tighten
screw fittings.
Pump runs very noisily:
x Pump primes air.
Ensure there is a sufficient
water supply.
Hold pump at an angle
when sub-merging.
A Danger!
Repairs to electric tools must only
be carried out by a qualified
electrician!
Electric tools in need of repair can
be sent to an authorised service
center in your country. See spare
parts list for address. Please attach
a description of the fault to the
electric tool.
The packaging of the pump can
be 100 % recycled.
Worn out power tools and
accessories contain considerable
amounts of valua-ble raw and
plastic materials, which can be
recycled.
These instructions are printed on
chlo-rine-free bleached paper.
