Slow Motion Switch Machine Outputs:
Along the right side and right bottom edge
of
the board facing you are the 8 outputs for a slow mo-
tion switch machine. The outputs start with switch machine 1, at the very top right. Each output
is
2
terminal positions,
so
each large block has 4 outputs with 2 wire connections each. Each output
is
labeled
on
the board (please note picture)
as
SM1, SM2 and
so
on
.
Push Button and Sensor Inputs:
The inputs from buttons and sensors are at bottom left and center. The inputs for the buttons are
on
the left; while the sensor inputs (labeled Detection Connections) are at the center.
The button inputs are normally used to control switch machines
as
described
in
the above section. A
normally open push button
is
used for this by connected one side
of
the button to the terminal at
center left (labeled +VE Push Button Common) and the other side to one ofthe terminals labeled for
the buttons. Note that each button input maps to its identical numbered switch. E.g. Button 1 controls
switch machine 1.
The inputs labeled detection common can be used by a wide range of sensors. Digitrax uses their
801/804
occupancy accessory as the example. One side
of
the sensor is connected to the terminal
at
center left (labeled
-VE
Occupancy Return) and the other side is connected to the bottom center
terminal (labeled Detection Connections).
For further information
on
sensors, consult the Digitrax manual and website for the SE8c.
