Welcome to your new Archon controller! This guide will help you through the initial setup of your new device and get you up and running quickly. Before you know it,

you’ll be controlling and monitoring your aquarium in ways you only dreamed of before!

To get started, please unpack your new Archon controller and confirm that you have received all the items listed below. If any items are missing, please contact

customer support immediately so we can get this resolved for you.

Getting to know the Archon

1. ORP/pH –These inputs can be individually programmed to be either ORP or pH. When the Dip switch is set to the “up”position, it is calibrated for ORP. “Down”

calibrates for pH.

UP=ORP DOWN=pH

2. 0-10v ports –These ports are set up to allow direct connection to either a DCI module or the DA Tunze adapter cables.

Pin 1 = 0-10v output Pin 2 = Ground

Pin 3 = Not used Pin 4 = Not used

3. I/O ports –Each port has one 0-10v output, one PWM output, and 2 switch inputs.

PLUG 1 (TOP):

Pin 1 = Ground Pin 2 = SW1 input

Pin 3 = Ground Pin 4 = SW2 input

Pin 5 = Ground Pin 6 = PWM1 +

Pin 7 = Ground Pin 8 = VOUT3 (0-10V+)

PLUG 2 (BOTTOM):

Pin 1 = Ground Pin 2 = SW1 input

Pin 3 = Ground Pin 4 = SW2 input

Pin 5 = Ground Pin 6 = PWM2 +

Pin 7 = Ground Pin 8 = VOUT4 (0-10V+)

The IOE module will make quick work of connecting to these ports

4. Bus ports (x3) –Used to connect Digital Aquatics modules to the Archon controller (PB4, SL2, DCI etc.)

5. iTemp –Port to connect the included iTemp probe for temperature monitoring/controlling.

6. 9v power input –Port to plug in included power supply. In the future, this will be used for triggering battery backup modes with a UPS power supply.

7. LAN port –Used to connect the Archon to network via an ethernet cable. The orange light is the power light for the Archon.

8. USB port –Used for memory storage. In the future it will allow for expansion via a USB hub.

Initial Setup:

After confirming you received all of the items listed, connect your new Archon controller to the power bar(s) with the bus connector(s), plug the iTemp probe into the

iTemp port, and connect power to the Archon with the supplied 9v power supply.

It will take approximatley 30 seconds for the system to initalize. Look for the orange light on the LAN port to be illuminated - this shows that the system is now ready.

On any wireless capable device (ie. Laptop, tablet, etc.), connect to the wireless network labeled “ARCHON”.

Open your preferred browser and enter the following ip address: 192.168.10.1

You should see a page similar to this:

SSID: This is the name of your wireless network.

Note: If you do not want to use the wireless, or do not have a wireless network, leave this blank

Ecryption: Select the type of security your wireless network utilizes.

Key: This is the password for your network.

Note: If you do not want to use the wireless, or do not have a wireless network, leave this blank

Archon Login & Password: This will be your name used to log in to the Archon Webpage. The default is: DigitalAquatics and password

Wireless Hostname: This is the name your Archon to display on the wireless network.

Ethernet Hostname: This is the name your Archon to display on the LAN network.

Time offset from UTC: Use this to set your time zone. To help figure out your time offset, see: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone/utc

Once you press the Send button, the entered settings will be saved to the Archon.

To perform changes to your internet settings without affecting other system settings, press the reset button through the top of the Archon and hold for 10-15

seconds. This will permit you to perform the intial setup again.

connect your device (ie. Laptop, tablet, phone), to your home network and and enter : HTTP://(Hostname) (this is the Hostname assigned during the setup)
